No, the plane's fuel indicator did not malfunction.
- Airline was on verge of bankruptcy
- Pilot was also the owner and guy responsible for spending money
- Pilot decides to skimp on fuel. Most airplanes carry double what they need to fly somewhere in case of emergency. This guy didn't, instead opting to put in LESS than what was needed.
- Plane runs out of fuel
- Plane looses power and communication
- Plane crashes.

Most airline tend to cut cost of oils. The oils of plane once fuel can not use recycled . They cut the cost and their lives. Sad.

If your new here this is how it crashed (I forgot most of it so I won’t have much information but I’ll tell you why it crashed):
The plane was told to make a stop to refuel then arrive but instead the captain ignored it and continued with the flight, and another problem is that the ATC told the flight to wait in a holding pattern if the captain or the First officer has told the atc that they were low on fuel atc would’ve brought them down quickly and this wouldn’t happen, I know this from “TheFlightChannel”

It was the decision to get to his destination on time that sealed their fate. They would've had just enough fuel (at best) to make the touchdown on the runway, or (at worst) have enough speed to glide onto the runway. Getting into the holding pattern turned the flight from "we might make it" to "yeah we're f***ed.".
This was the crash with the 2016 Brazilian Chapecoense Football Team.
Well, the Captain, decided to to refill at the last airport. Apparently, he faced a penalty of $500k had he done so. Why this is, I’m not certain. Anyway, he decides to take a gamble. He was also the owner, which is a bad combination. So, the gamble obviously failed. I feel sorry for those who died. The young co pilot, a young lady also perished. Obviously told to keep quiet about the whole situation. It’s a reminder to everyone, sometimes, it’s best to say no. Every pilot would be able to produce a quick calculation, regarding a planes distance and fuel. She must have had a bad feeling. Anyway, god bless them all

As I recall the pilot had made the reverse trip several times without a fuel stop. He did not take into account that the reverse trip was from 7,000 feet to sea level and this trip was sea level to 7,000 feet. They burned more fuel getting up to cruise altitude. But more importantly they planned the flight with zero fuel reserves which could have cost them their license. That is why they did not declare an emergency. They "had a fuel problem" when the first engine flamed out and "an electrical problem" when the last engine flamed out. The fuel stop would have cost something like $5,000 in landing fees. So they died trying increase the bottom line.

Columbia, 71 died, 6 survived, probable that the survivors were injured. LaMia Flight 2933, ran out of fuel due to pilot error, because they didn't declare a fuel emergency in time. Ran out of fuel due to delays in landing because of other prioritised aircraft and miscalculated fuel levels

@@AAce_87 That was no miscalculation, it was a criminal act by the pilot and owner of the airline, who purposely put way less fuel than the standard amount to save money for the airline that was bankrupt
