With so many pilots who don't know anything, really makes me glad I stay on the ground. Some sound like they shouldn't be in charge of opening a box of crayons let alone be in charge of a plane with so many lives
Word!!! I've seen some videos like these, where the errors that the pilots were making were so elementary and basic, that infuriated me ESPECIALLY when hundreds of people's lives were at stake!! Like with a Swiss flight where the First Officer stalled and crashed their plane by constantly pulling the nose of the plane up, fully aware of the situation!! The freakin' step to correct the situation and save all the lives onboard, was to just push the nose of the airplane downward, in order to catch up speed and get out of the stall. A truly beginner move right there. Even someone without any flying experience would contemplate an execution such as this in order to resume normal flying.
It seems like some of these younger pilots just can NOT fly a plane without all the fancy autonomous systems and instruments working. They simply don't have the "feel" for the aircraft by itself, like pilots USED to before all the electronic nannies came into play. Look at the fighter pilots of World War 2, they flew their planes by "FEEL", and could EASILY tell which direction in a 360° space that they were heading. They didn't NEED MCAS, or 3D electronic screens, or an auto-pilot in order to fly their aircraft exactly where they wanted it to go. Today, many of these pilots have NO idea what direction they are headed, what axis the plane is moving in, or have any idea what to do if the electronics aren't telling them what to do, and how to do it.
such an ignorant comment. Observing from the armchair, on the ground no alarms no stress. It's called hindsight. Everything seems easy when you already have the answer.
