Big Bear is my home town. Long ago and far away! This storm reminds me of the 70's when the same thing happened. My father and I walked up the center of town and not a soul was to be found. Currently my brother is working overtime for CalTrans clearing roads up there. I hope you all have some extras in the pantry, stay home and stay warm! We did run out of groceries, but the cars were buried. Luckily one of the maids for our hotel "Fireside Lodge" had a dog team. She drove me to the store where I bought what I could for the family and drove us back home from the store. Great memories, interesting times. It pays off to be prepared.

I just skimmed through this and you sounded a bit exhausted and stressed. I thought you mountain guys were tough. It's been years since I've been to Big Bear. The drive from Northridge is a grind even without snow, but maybe sometime this year I'll go up again.

I feel si bad for you all. My cousin in sugar loaf said no gas and no food. She was locked in because of the big berm . Her friend helped her out and is staying with her. Praying for everyone in Big Bear
San Bernardino county declared a state of emergency. Trying to get supply trucks up only. They are over loaded just trying to keep up with snow removal on the state highways. Side roads are snowed in . Ski resorts are closed. Older people and people with medical emergencies are the priority. Probably 2 to 3 more days of no gas and supplies. More snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. Try to relax and watch movies.
