    Great video, I recently also started playing a little more docked and so must say so was quite blown away in some cases. I don’t understand the Cyberpunk in game FSR results. Shouldn’t they be on par or similar to the gamescope FSR? Is it just a bad implementation of FSR? What are the factors there? How come 4K and 720p have such a slight difference?

    • @TheTerk
      @TheTerk  Год назад

      I believe it's because of the different render resolutions. With in-game FSR, performance mode is ~1080p, which similar to 1080p with gamescope. I probably could have worded the chart better @3:12

    Great video. Quick question are you able to play FH5 without the hack to get fullscreen. I still open mine and its a black screen and have to do the fullscreen remap hack.

    Good video! I'm a bit confused though. I thought FSR was supposed to increase performance? In CyberPunk for example, 720p low = 41 fps, 720p low FSR performance = 19 fps. Why would I use FSR?

    Not sure if it's the graphs or the comparison but your understanding of FSR and how it impacts performance may be a bit off here.
    FSR does not and is not intended to increase performance at the same resolution & settings between full screen (auto-scaled) and FSR scaled windowed mode.
    The goal of FSR is to increase visual fidelity at a lower render scale, letting you achieve the FPS gains of that render size with graphics that appear to be a higher resolution.
    As an example:
    - 1080p full screen native = 40fps
    - 720p full screen native = 55fps
    - 720p FSR (rendered at 720p and scaled to 1080p) = 50fps, _but looks better than 720p full screen native_
    The reason 720p FSR may be lower fps than 720 native is because of the FSR scaling computation. Effectively, FSR turns into another quality nob here that turns _up_ quality at 720p rendering at the cost of some performance, but typically less than increasing resolution to the next notch.

    I have questions about material and if it'll leave residue on my hands? Is this silicone or carbon fiber I don't like residue on my hands? I noticed it said rubber in middle of dock? Do you also recommend it?

    When in docked mode on a 32 inch UHD screen, what resolution do you think is best. Currently I'm using 1920*1080 at medium settings but at some points it feels like the game is pushing the deck to it's limit.

    • @TheTerk
      @TheTerk  Год назад +1

      It depends on the game. You might want to drop down to 720p or use FSR Performance mode

    I'm confused about the point of the dock when it comes to gaming. Sure, the desktop and web browsing looks nice in 2k/4k but what's the point of playing games when you have to play in such low resolution. For some crazy reason I thought I could easily play games on my Deck on my TV in at least 2k/60fps no problem. That's not the case...MW2019 played around 30-35fps and ran like crap. Maybe I set my expectations too high but when you read "4k/60hz gaming" you think you're gonna get something decent...but then again, its a little hand held, why would I think I could play in 2k/4k at 60-120fps

      @@dabwizard2067 yeah I can't find anything either. I haven't had a chance to test it myself. But honestly, running games at whatever they're already set to on the deck (to avoid switching graphics settings back and forth) really isn't too bad. Playing on a 4k TV, most games I tried looked fine. Worst of the lot was Insurgency Sandstorm.
