Thank you so much for uploading this. I have searched everywhere since '92 for the race between Offiah and Oudenryn. I'm a huge Offiah fan and although he got beaten in this race, I needed to see it. You have made a dream of mine come true. Thanks man
I remember this game. Brett Kenny had never lost to Great Britain, and Parra were low on the ladder. Everyone thought Parra were going to get killed but, they didn't, they won. As for Lee beating Martin, I think Martin was carrying a bit of an injury at the time, and he also stuffed his start. By his own admission, he gave credit to Lee stating that he is indeed fast.
I was there with my dad that night enjoyed it greatly thanks to a mate who was a season ticket holder of 2 seats in the Thornett stand all gone now building Cumberland MK3 go Scotty Mahon
I remember this , I was 22 , Martin had a very exhausting season , and Odenryon had fresh legs , would have been a different story if they race early in season
I was at this game, was only 9 years old. Remember everyone giving offiah a spray after he got beat. Not sure if I believe the tanking story, Oudenryn had only played a few firs grade games and I think Offiah just took him to lightly and didn't realise how quick he was. You see when offiah scored that try Lee was catching him.
Questions still remain over Offiah in that match race. Rumour had it that some of his Lions team mates had put money at very good odds on Oudenryn to win and that Offiah tanked (he missed the start, Lee was half a metre gone by the time Offiah got going) so his team mates could collect.
I went to this game , at the time i lived down the road at west ryde. Me and a few mates sat on the hill, i don't even go for Parra but that night i tell ya what they just ripped in .
2:35 another example of Shaun Edwards being absolute gash in defence against the Aussies. He must have had a mental block facing the aussies, I hear he was a star in England, but my god he missed a lot of tackles in defence.
If you pause when offiah get the ball in the game , lee is running hard and barely a yard behind , offiah then pulls another half a yard on him while holding the ball and looking round .Very Suspicious looks like he bombed the start of the race on purpose.
Just watched Lee good interview today. He said he took the race very seriously and got an awesome start Martin just couldn't recover the ground.Sounds like old chariots might have taken him too lightly
I remember Offiah slipping at the start but the Aussies didn't show that as it doesn't fit their Aussies are greater than anybody else propaganda agenda
@@bigvee401 He slipped at the start, it is a well known fact, I remember watching it and saying to our lass, Feck me chariots has slipped by gum, Oudenryn would still have beat him though it would have been a little bit closer of a finish
Lol, he threw the race for sure. Looks like he purposely runs behind oudenryan for a bit to slow himself down. We've all seen him score 100m tries and his legs move like lightening. This is the slowest hes ever looked running in a straight line.
ufc, don't forget Oudenryn was the quickest guy in the nrl league, he was no chump bro, Offiah got a bad start and that's all the advantage Oudenryn needed, on another day Offiah might have won.
My dad took me as a 7 year old this is a night i can still remember like it was yesterday.

Great acting by Ofiah. How much $$$$ did Ofiah have on losing? Lol
@M perhaps, but what a shame.
@M dream on and rugby league is more popular in more than 4 countries
I remember this event fondly; watching on TV on a cold winter night in 92.
lee oudenryn settled in new zealand after playing for the warriors, last time i head he became a police officer, don't bother running

parra came 15th in 92..
Does anyone knows which high school Lee Oudenryn went to.
Just watched Lee good interview today. He said he took the race very seriously and got an awesome start Martin just couldn't recover the ground.Sounds like old chariots might have taken him too lightly
All Martin's team mates had money on him to lose 🤣 Fact. They made a killing 😁
We beat U PARRA 💙 PARRA 💙 PARRA 💛

Imagine talking about bias when your RUclips name is literally just 'wigan fan'
@@TheShepdawg9 Imagine that, ooh all that bias saying Oudenryn would still have beat him though, that really is some bias
@@wiganfan3373 it's not bias if it's evident, right in front of you, that Lee beat offiah.
If GB played their test side vs club they’d win easily. Even now. Aus champs beat at home and then in Wigan. Australia test side wins easily though
He burns him at the game
Sure looks like offiah was trying to me, regardless of all these conspiracies
Offiah wasn't tryi

Running behind someone is an advantage because there is less air/wind resistance.
The start was rigged..... thats why they did not show it.
Lets call thid tour what it was - Wigan touring Australia in 1992 😂 13 players supplied by 1 club.
