theres a live version of take the veil where theres only bass, drums and keys roaming around, its one of the most powerful versions theres around. you can tell ikey jon and juan were the driving force of the band during that era. its a 2003/04 in the trobadour or something like... will look for it

Gracias por subir este video, yo fui a ese vive latino fue el primero que había ido y la verdad hubo buenas bandas y en ese entonces no conocía a the Mars Volta pero la verdad me sorprendió su manera de tocar, si mal no recuerdo tocaron casi al final de día y la verdad estaba muy cansado para estar hasta en frente pero desde donde lo veía me encanto, muy buena banda

The Cicatriz video and audio are both pretty rough. I think that’s why it’s not been seen as much. It’s a shame we don’t have a better rip of it cause it’s a great version.

He turns the knobs with his feet. Particularly the Ibanez DE7 and Memory Man. Damn amazing sounds aren’t they?!

He has multiple delays sometimes the same pedal with diff settings. He’s really insane when it comes to pedals that’s for sure. Especially in that era his pedalboard was insane and it got worse around the Amputecture era 😅

It's close but this isn't the source for anything off of Scabdates. The Scabdates version of Cicatriz was recorded at their next show on May 12th at the Wiltern in LA. We have a bootleg recording of it on our site, as well as all of the other dates that made up the Scabdates recordings.
