Hi there! First, just wanted to say that your channel is very informative and engaging and I've been using many of your vids to help my daughter ascend from building robots to building computers as a hobby. I just wanted to say, from a chemist's perspective, that DI water is not such a good idea as pure water, with heat, exhibits a great deal of polarization through something called 'dipoles'. Deionized water, with heat, is great at stripping electrons from metal. This means that steel will form rust and aluminum will form a thin layer of something called alumina (aluminum oxide) which is a pretty good insulator of heat. Hope this benefits you in some way!
PeterDerBeste i just had the same problem on a Maximus x formula build A2 error code. Simply turning on the screen manualy Once fixed it for me. No problems ever since

I couldn't stop yelling at the screen what a dumb a** he was for not even thinking of that first. 2 cards, 8 outputs, ya think one card or port could be bad? Then, he back flashes the BIOS and gets an A3. Even if the BIOS didn't see a drive he would still get video.
Hey Kyle use this Case to do a copper and walnut build in, all organic build. I love this PC. Only thing would be getting rid of almost all RGB. Use only pure white light.
The GPU plays a big role in the stability of a computer system. My PC kept blue screening for the longest. Finally changed the riser cable for my vertical GPU mount and this pc has been running for over a year with no blue screens or hiccups.
You know what's funny? My Elite Build is still kicking. All the TechTubers I showed made comments of how bad my tubing runs were. But ya know what? It still runs just fine. So HA!
TheB29Bomber It's worth the amount of silence you get. AIO's and air (especially on GPU's) are far too loud. Custom loops let you have so much radiator space you can run the fans silently under load.
Kunteki No it can't because AIO pumps are hellishly loud compared to a properly decoupled D5. I specifically mentioned GPU fans though. Maybe there are AIO's for GPU's, I haven't seen any. When the rule of thumb is two 120mm fans for every overclocked component and you instead have six or more 140mm fans, you can run those fans at dead silent speeds even under load.
Tarkus Saine This. I still think the case is a ripoff, for that kind of money you can buy a CaseLabs THW10 which can mount four 560mm radiators and two 280mm radiators easily.
It's crazy how Jayztwocents just had a video, literally, about a PC that he needed to go back and fix that he hasn't been able to use for months and had to do an entire tear down of the machine.
Cloud Connected - Yes, I see what you mean! Perhaps bitwit and Jayztwocents and both the same person. That could explain how similar their two video concepts were! 😐
I used a few drops of food coloring in my system and it worked fine. Even after one year maintenance period, no clogs, no sediment, no staining or leaks. All it takes is just a few drops though. Pros- any color you can mix. Cons- need to mix first and use a small amount.
After all that it was the graphics card? Dang. Thanks for the namedrop, glad Jay and I were able to help....tho wish it was all that was needed cuz you still had to do a TON of work after all lol. Ahhhhhhhhh
Mack Gaming - Wow, and I thought the upgrades I was gonna make to my PC were overkill for my use. Soon gonna be getting an extra 16 gigs of ddr4 ram, an upgrade from my i7 6700 to an i7 7820x and an I will be getting an 1180 whenever they come out to replace my 1070. Since I'm moving on from 1080p gaming to 4K gaming I thought the upgrade would be necessary. The extra ram isn't necessary but I might end up buying it anyway and putting it into a new system.
I'm new to PC building/gaming or just PC in general but one of the things I think I'm going to do when I build my first water cooled build is to use antifreeze in the water solution instead of just water or water and that coloured gunk. Antifreeze has anti rust properties and other properties to stop the corrosion of metals such as aluminium (your radiator). It also protects rubber seals and other plastics. It raises the boiling point of water and more importantly, its heat transfer properties, and comes in some nice colours.
I think you hit the nail on the head with the GPU not being seated properly. I have had that adventure more than once. Some PCI Express slots can be very picky and you need to push everything in perfectly straight or it won't make proper contact on some motherboards. I think it was twice that I ended up reseating a card and wished I had done that before I did everything else, once on pre-built unit I was troubleshooting for somebody and once on a unit that I built. As to your CPU, It is rare that chip defects cause excess heat to that degree. The heat needs to be lead away so I would definitely redo the thermal paste to be sure it's making appropriate contact and then just reassemble everything from there so that you can make sure everything is making firm contact. It could be just the silliest thing like the paste being uneven in the wrong place or just something not making firm enough contact. Your pumps look like they are running strong so I doubt it's anything to do with the cooling loop.
It was turned on, video wasn't showing. Any number of things could've really went wrong, but the first thing he should've checked was the GPU, monitor, and video cable. > No video? - Check GPU, monitor, and video cable. > No power? - Check power cord. > No audio? - Check speakers. > Automatically shutting down nearly after booting? - CPU overheating and the CPU cooler is probably not working or unplugged. > High(er) overall temps? - Check for and try dusting, then replacing CPU and GPU thermal compound if it doesn't fix it. > Audio interference? - Buy and wrap speaker/headphone/microphone output/input ends with ferrite choke cores.
Noureddine NeaR its not like he traveled to another country, runs a business and keeps making more relivent videos that those of us can enjoy. But im sure with your amazing time managent skills he would have had the time.
Redivh there's always one of you, who just can't tell when a person is kidding. He wasn't saying he has poor time management or that he could do better. He was joking around at the fact Bitwit's life allows him to have that $12k monstrosity just lying around collecting dust for months and act so casually about it.
Had the same issue the other day , i unplugged one of my gpu's and its posted i took that card out cleaned it up put it back into my rig and sure enough it worked again, maybe try the simpler things before you rush into the more technical stuff :)
I had a similar problem with my PC. Upgraded the RAM and the computer wouldn't turn on thought I may have shorted the motherboard or something. I had to leave the PC for a while as work got busy but luckily had my laptop to do work. Come back to the PC a few months later and it turns out I hadn't seated one of the RAM sticks properly. Just pushed it in a bit more and it works fine.
Brookler yea ram sticks can be a bitch like that, I spent 4 hours diagnosing a friends computer. And all we had to do was push in the ram a bit more XD
I had a similar problem. A friend and I both built new pcs for Christmas. He brought his over to show me and it would not turn on. I looked after 20 minutes found out there was no 8 pin to the mobo. still Wouldnt work. 2 hours later we realized that the ram was in 1 slot to the left.
Had the exact same thing happen with my last build. Put everything together no post, code was throwing fine. Took the cpu and mobo back to microcenter to see if they could get a post and they said it worked fine. Put everything back together exactly the same way it posted first try and has been running perfectly since. Had to have been a connection somewhere that wasn't all the way seated even though it all looked right. From now on re seating everything is gonna be early on in my troubleshooting process for things like this.
I think the problem was with RAM, i've had issues with ram before and not getting anything displayed unless u remove all ram and do a CMOS reset. Even then just booting with 1 stick to get it to POST then installing the additional DIMM's. If this isnt an actual solution then i am stumped too as to what it could be. If it was a GPU issue not being seated properly I believe pluggin it into a monitor would come up as no output device detected. Looking forward to a feedback / reply. Great video and awesome setup, Kyle!

"The key is behind the locked door."
And why would the computer say 'no keyboard detected, press F1 to continue' that's just stupid

This is why air cooling is superior in terms of laziness
And why AIO cooling beats both (in terms of lazyness). So easy to work in an AIO cooled rig because there is all that extra free space!
AIO will hit the same temps as air cooler when gaming, but take ages to cool down, thats why most are going back to air
AIO> all others.

If you’re spending 900 dollars on a case you really shouldn’t use anything but a custom loop.
Tarkus Saine This. I still think the case is a ripoff, for that kind of money you can buy a CaseLabs THW10 which can mount four 560mm radiators and two 280mm radiators easily.
When you first rebooted the PC it said that a new CPU was detected. Maybe the CPU is bad if it overheats and could have been the issue before?
x FORMIDABL3 x Gaming he did clear cmos.
0:26 is it me or does it look like bitwit could fit in there

BRING BACK LYLE!
Kyle said that lyle was dead on awesome hardware a few weeks ago. Then again, he might have been dRuNK
It's crazy how Jayztwocents just had a video, literally, about a PC that he needed to go back and fix that he hasn't been able to use for months and had to do an entire tear down of the machine.
I think the point seemingly flew over your head at an alarming speed
Cloud Connected - Yes, I see what you mean! Perhaps bitwit and Jayztwocents and both the same person. That could explain how similar their two video concepts were! 😐
I used a few drops of food coloring in my system and it worked fine. Even after one year maintenance period, no clogs, no sediment, no staining or leaks. All it takes is just a few drops though. Pros- any color you can mix. Cons- need to mix first and use a small amount.
Buying distiled water is fun
such a random comment.. i love it 😂
7:16, I saw that rival nemesis 😏
This video has sooo much pain in it. Literally made me cry. Patience of a monk.
"soon to be ex-wife" lmao the foreshadowing
Too Bad Brita hasn't invented a water loop filter ! Ha ! Nice Vid ! Thanks !
I’m glad to see even experienced pc builders still have similar frustrating weird issues I do.
After all that it was the graphics card? Dang. Thanks for the namedrop, glad Jay and I were able to help....tho wish it was all that was needed cuz you still had to do a TON of work after all lol. Ahhhhhhhhh
well if i got no display and pc was on i first try gpu.
You Helped Me Building My 13,000 $ Pc Love You
Mack Gaming $13k for a computer
Mack Gaming I want to see this pc
Fuckcameron Nezbeth It Has 128 gb ddr4 RAM 2 Nvidia Titan x dual liquid cooling Intel i9 core processor
Mack Gaming that is the most overkill thing ever I love it
Mack Gaming - Wow, and I thought the upgrades I was gonna make to my PC were overkill for my use.
Kyle: I need someone with super human strength
Wife: hold my beer
3:25 well this didn’t age well.
Just what i was thinking
Maybe the waterblock for the cpu applied too much pressure / cpu not seated correctly, causing it to not properly detect the cpu
deinemuddaisdoof he cleared CMOS and reverted to previous bios. That same message will come up everytime by doing that.
All that work because you didn't check to see if the monitor was turned on... :P What a Goob! XD
I'm not a PC owner nor even tried PC but I like watching videos like these
3:23 well this didn’t age well at all
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, i was looking for this comment

Why
Oh yeah lemme build a 12 k$ pc and let it in the corner of my house untouched for months, life is good xdd
Noureddine NeaR its not like he traveled to another country, runs a business and keeps making more relivent videos that those of us can enjoy. But im sure with your amazing time managent skills he would have had the time.
Redivh Ikr who cares about the 12 THOUSAND Dollars that he spent for nothing..
Redivh there's always one of you, who just can't tell when a person is kidding. He wasn't saying he has poor time management or that he could do better. He was joking around at the fact Bitwit's life allows him to have that $12k monstrosity just lying around collecting dust for months and act so casually about it.
jay sheriffe the fact that he has a 12k computer isnt crazy anyway. Its a busness computer.
business computer or no it doesn't change the fact the original post was just making a joke does it....*facepalm*
Music choice was on point in this video
but have you tried turning it on and off
AAH, you too have worked in the Cable TV industry!
Wow 😊😊
Had the same issue the other day , i unplugged one of my gpu's and its posted i took that card out cleaned it up put it back into my rig and sure enough it worked again, maybe try the simpler things before you rush into the more technical stuff :)
3:26 oof thats brutal
You should have got Lyle to fix it 😆
I have a theory: wifey came and unseated the video card
Tyler Logsdon 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Over 10 hours, happy you got it working.
Glad he fixed it but I think Lyle could have done it faster.
5:33 bf tells me he needs help cuz hes 2 weak tells me to leave likes hes the boss -_-
I think the problem was with RAM, i've had issues with ram before and not getting anything displayed unless u remove all ram and do a CMOS reset.
Dislike for not using the Gamers Nexus Mod Mat during your tear down! lol
$12,000 computer? Ah, I'll just let it sit there for a couple of months and get around to it whenever. For shame.
That set up is beautiful

"New CPU detected" is the first thing it said when it first got to post. I'd say you reseating that alone did it!
He updated the BIOS and cleared the CMOS. The computer no longer knew what CPU was installed until first boot.
12,000$ brick? Damn I didn't know such expensive power supplies existed
3:20 turned out to be true after all
Most of the time it is the simplest things that cause the biggest problems.
