Enjoyed your video, great to see your wife helping, My wife and I put windshield in after heating rubber seal in warm water and installing using rope trick but applied liquid dish soap around seal when installing and went in real easy, just my two cents. Keep up the good work!
Oh that is a good idea. I have to take the windshield and the rear hatch glass out to paint the car soon. So I’ll give your prep method a try. Sounds like it’ll work better.
Looks good man. I just pulled my windshield. My car is completely gutted and the floors... well basically the trans tunnel and rocker were the only things holding my seat in so I've been watching your old floor pan and frame rail videos. About to start cutting mine.
@@StewartMotoring I've been watching your build since the beginning since before I bought mine. I don't always comment but I watch them all. Everything has come a long way for you man, editing, fabricating & everything in between. It's been fun watching the journey. Can't wait to see video of you ripping in this thing.
When you put the trim mounding in it pushes out the rubber corners and fits like a glove. Had the same issue with mine and then added the SS trim it worked out just fine
@@StewartMotoring If you don't want the groove for the chrome channeling, take a look at Vintage Rubber CAL Spec weather-stripping for the windshield and hatch seals.
Hi guys great information on the window install, this will defiantly help me on my install. Thanks a lot. by the way, can an you please share where you sourced the fender flares for you car???
Another outstanding job. Unlike some others, I appreciate seeing all the effort, frustration and persistence required to complete these tasks. Everything on RUclips looks straightforward until you try tackling them yourself. Again, thanks for sharing your project experiences.
Hey man I didn't see this when you first posted it, but you might end up filling those gaps when you put back the trim pieces. It might spread the rubber far enough where you don't have to mess around with filling it with sealer. If you could let me know how it works because I am restoring a 280Z myself and hope I don't run into the same problem .
Simeon Boys-Layton yes, the it has provisions for the chrome trim. I will be installing later. If I do decide to install. Because I am missing some trim...
For anyone that is looking at getting a new hatch seal...BUY THE NISSAN OEM PART. Seriously. You will have issues with the fitment of any other seal. I know from experience and $150 down the drain on the cheap option.
ladies who help build cars with you are keepers for LIFE... haha

That's awesome. Yep, I was doing those same things about 2 years ago now. Wow crazy. Glad they help. Ha my editing has gotten better since then :)

Thanks. For the flares - trial and error eBay flares. Tried a couple sets till I found those
Bro I like your rear spoiler 👌from where can I get like them for 240 thanks 👍
Looks good bro bro but dont you need to add that glue stuff so windows wont fly out
Thanks. Modern cars use the glue to hold them in. This car uses only the rubber trim by design it holds it in place.
@@StewartMotoring mine had both

Thanks for the great comment!
No glue actually holds the glass windshield in place ?
Nope!

Buy the genuine Nissan seals. Trust me on this.
Where did you buy the rear strut tower brace?
The tube between the rear strut towers I added myself
Definitely not looking forward to doing this to my 280zx! I'ts nice to have this video for reference!
Isn’t there filler strips/trim that go in the rubber afterward?

Nice vid! Did you purchase the complete rubber kit for the 280z?
Yep, 19 pieces. I said Summit in video but it was actually an Ebay seller!
nice work.

I'm impressed. That you got a woman who helps you out.
Am I seeing things or are your wheel studs stupid long?
They are arp studs that are a bit extended. They don’t stick out that far. It does help putting the wheels on though 😁
Starting to look like a car now eheh! :P
That looks factry...
...remember the build and finnish quality in the 70”s was not 100% so this is probably factory spec. 👍🏻
Marry that woman. lol
S30 never look good primer or matte or satin etc...Paint that bad boy.
