They hid microtransactions from reviewers and then lowered credit rates. These are predatory practices meant to deceive the buyers. I feel scammed and want a refund. I never would have bought this game had I known itd be like this
It honestly WOULD likely stand up in court as a predatory practice, bait and switch at minimum, which is also illegal. When the profits are in the hundreds of millions(likely) it would be a felony.
Ah.. I see what they did here. Release the part of the game they know people will love, wait for the reviews, then release the part everyone will dislike. Typical scummy business tactic.
dude what the game is at least an 8 for sure. alot of fun. bugs i didn't experience an in game bug but I have a disk on ps5 and it broke . it won't allow me to start game. so I decided to redownload it. but rather then that. I gotta give this game a solid 8.
We all paid over $70 for this game - - - I've owned every GT since it came out in 97 and I've been a huge fan - - - but this game is leaving me frustrated and not impressed (when compared to GT-SPORT). Grinding for credits is getting OLD fast. Overall, the game seems like it's trying to "teach me a lesson" or prove a point of "how f*cking sophisticated Polyphony Digital is". OK, OK, we are all impressed. Just help us enjoy the damn game, not only ON-LINE but off-line as well. Stop holding us HOSTAGE. It's only a matter of time before another PS5 game comes along and blows GT7 away with a more enjoyable experience... and graphics that are equal or better.
You absolutely can't justify reducing reward credits! That was how the game was designed! It was still a grind the original way but now is a slap in the face for all players! GT7 is a great game but terrible decisions have been implemented since launch!
@@rogerYT69 Hopefully they will have learnt a lesson from the current backlash and revert to how things were or they are gonna see their player base reduce big time!
“HurR DuRr bUt bUt yOo HAv to WUrk FoR yOoR CaRs” “nO OnE iZ foRsIng U tO bI CrEDiTs” The amount of excuses people have been making is ridiculous. I even seen some defending the fact you can’t play any single player content during the maintenance 😂
@@xxx-pliskin-sniper-xxx8538 To me, collecting trophies is a big deal and in this game you’re required to collect three (potentially) 20mil cars which in mtx terms costs $200/car 🤦🏻♂️
@@xxx-pliskin-sniper-xxx8538 I buy games to play them, don’t buy games to worry about “credits”. I have a wheel and gt7 is by far the best feeling racing game I’ve played. (I’ve played forza horizon/motor sport.) both don’t feel right. Assetto Corsa is the closest to gt7 but still just not as good. Plus the game literally gives you free cars for everything. I got a skyline for free after like 2-3 hours of gameplay? 🤷🏻♂️ “oh man I feel obligated to buy credits” said by mush brained morons. 👌🏻
I would strongly suggest re-reviewing this based on the micro-transaction situation. If you were playing an RPG, then the way that your character grows is part of the game experience. If playing this game is forcing you to grind in order for you to get the car that you want or a car that can actually compete, that is part of the experience and the review should reflect that. And if the game keeps throwing "fear of missing out" bait that pushes you to making expensive transactions, then that is part of the experience and the review should reflect that. Saying that this is a perfect game means that you think that these are perfect solutions and that this is the way that games should be made. It might make Sony happy, but it makes me not trust your reviews.
The thing is. Everything in the game is rewarding you for buying credits, and punishing you for spending time grinding. We all love a good grind to unlock that special thing. But when the devs literally makes it take 20 hours of grind at the start and then later makes it even harder for you to unlock even a slightly good car, it’s just a scummy move trying to force everyone into paying instead of playing. It’s not a single problem, it’s the fact that there’s been made a lot of decisions since launch, all of them being bad and to punish grinders. At this point there’s even no real place to use the high end cars unless you nerf the cars to fit in the pp ratings, meaning you’re better of not spending 3 mil on a top end car and sticking with what you got given from the menu books
The reviews are made when the game is released. If you're asking GamingBolt to change their review of a multi year service game based on its 2nd week, then you should ask everyone to change their reviews of every single active service game right now, as well as to update them monthly. I'm against reviews and scores for service games. Irrespective of the support, they never represent the current state of the game.
I'm a long time GT fanboy, absolutely loved 7. I liked how it was like the older games. You know what's the difference between then and now though? I've grown into an adult with a full time job, and I don't have time to grind weeks for a Volkswagen Golf. I was rooting for you GT, we all were. But this is some bullsh*t
They should be ashamed. This isn't a free-to-play service game; this cost $75 with tax, which we were willing to pay for Polyphony's obvious care for car culture. Grinding is kind of a tradition for GT games, and as a fan of the series since the start, I was okay with that. But the obvious and shameful reduction of prizes is a clear cash grab. The "roulette" bonus sequences are also an insult as they are clearly not random, and give the lowest payout every time. And an always online game that stops you from playing when you OWN the game is beyond greedy--that's the most insulting thing of all--I paid $75 to lease a game.
This is why I roll with Xbox my friend. I’m not trying to celebrate your frustrations, I’m just saying Sony is known for this and they tend to have a condescending attitude towards their fan base. This is not the case with Xbox. I will NEVER pay $75 for a video game and I simply can’t understand why Sony gamers bow down and do what Sony tells them to do. This is another kind of loyalty I don’t ever want to be a part of with any company I patronize.
It’s not just me lowest pay out every time . Are they not giving clean race bonus either here grinding . Clean af breaking lap tile records each lap no bonus some races I was grinding on have less payouts . . It’s kind of annoying need to put in 100k credits for 600pp car only win 35k .
This is greed pure and simple. Micro transactions have no place in a full priced console game. Hopefully governments will start paying attention and legislate this out as its a deceptive, predatory behaviour that is seriously eroding the quality of games. Everything about this has been designed to milk the maximum out of their consumers AFTER purchase and is deeply immoral. This practice has to end and soon.
@@MassiveHappyClapper Yeah a couple dollars here and there seems ok but when some of the cars cost nearly as much in MTX as the entire game, those transactions aren’t so micro anymore.
I used to pay $49.95 for a new game in the 90s. Today, games are much more complex and the cost of living went up in the last 20-25 years. So I understand paying $90 including ALL the extra content. Beyond that is just pure greed and should not be rated E but something like 16+ with a label such as "Warning: Game encourages spending. Rated 16+".
Let's not even talk about how they mention it's all about realistic prices, yet they remove our ability to sell cars, which we had in all previous GT games. And our ability to earn money. Corporate BS!
Imagine! You can buy cars with real world money but you can't sell cars in game fir mere points? This is borderline ridiculous. There should e a class action lawsuit against Sony and a legislative decision to refund every buyer that demands a refund of their money. Little wonder I've lost passion for buying games. I only have 3 ps5 games despite getting the ps5 Jan 1st 2021
It’s because they’re doing this for investors for Sony because they want to have Live services reaching their billion dollar potential by the end of 2026
Because after the acquisition of Microsoft with Activision blizzard this is putting pressure on Sony because their stock is losing fast and that’s why they need to monetization scheme so they can increase the revenue and also they need to play catch-up to Microsoft because they’re $1 trillion company Sony to is trying to achieve the same goal because they need enough money to go on a shopping spree to acquire electronic arts Ubisoft 2K and other publishers
@@kevingame3198 you have that backwards chief. Microsoft has been playing catch up for 2 decades. They go on shopping sprees and they still aren't close
Oh well, i was 100% going to buy this game, now I'll give it a miss and buy elden ring instead. At least you get all content you pay for, the last grand turismo i played was GT1 on the PSX and i loved it, but then i never had to worry about being pressured to spend extra money on content, it was all there to get when you wanted. £60 for a game and you're constantly pressured into spending more and more money on it, otherwise basically fuck you from the people who made the game, no thanks, I'll give my money to non-greedy developers who make better games in the first place. Watching this has made me angry and glad i never invested in this game, i can see in the future lots of other incidents with servers down etc.. And you can't play the game basically if you have no Internet access or their servers go down for maintenance etc.. Absolutely disgusting.
"We don't want people to feel like they have to grind for credits, which is why we've reduced the rewards so they'll definitely have to grind for credits instead. You're welcome!"
I’ve been there for GT since the first demo they released on a jam pack demo collection back on ps1. It’s heartbreaking to hear they let the business take them down this road and completely screw the players
I think I played that demo for 2 months before I got my first real game lol. That’s how I got into Tekken, Spyro, Tony Hawk, Ape Escape, 2extreme. Loved playing those demos.
It’s a shame man let me tell you it’s no wonder man that these things like in GT7 happened, we live in a different world nowadays and I also started to see things going downhill after like 2013 at this point I saw everything has changed not only in gaming but In general everything , they don’t make them like the REAL old school anymore 👊🏽 Kaz and Polyphony might have said that this game goes back to the classic games but as a matter effect everything was just bullshit talking and just imagine something if Sony told Kaz to put microtransactions into the game then why didn’t he said something to Sony that he doesn’t like the idea of doing it because we don’t live in a Men‘s Men era anymore if it would have been the old days something like that would have never happens cause people had balls back then , now everybody is just a follower and afraid to say the truth , they don’t make them like the old days anymore brother
@@theanimaster I suspect you don't make a habit of thinking do you? That'a apparent. If an economy system in a game is focused on microtransactions, the developers have motivation to make it difficult for the average player to earn credits, to push them to buy mtx. And we've already seen them nerf payouts on many races, so that is exactly what they are doing. That's why we care. Now, try to think more next time.
So glad I held off buying this. What a disaster this is, no matter how good the game is overall. Also Gaming Bolt and other review outlets owe it to their viewers and readers to adjust reviews and review scores in exceptional circumstances like these. There is no way a game this anti consumer should receive a perfect score.
That's the problem with these RUclipsrs......all in a rush to get a review out to get views.....meanwhile Sony sits back and waits to drop their bullsh@t.
If this game was f2p I'm very much in agreement on microtransactions and reduced prices., however we have spent 80€ for this game and an almost complete game should be mandatory, not empty.
Funniest bit was it stated they didn't want people to play the same track over and over. Well isn't that what you had to do in every GT game and lowering the credits will mean you do more of it. Just the legendary cars to go and the game will be gathering dust. Borefest.
I've been a fan of Gran Turismo since I played the first GT 25 years ago. I played all GT Games that came to Ireland. I'm very dissapointed with GT7 because the career mode is so very short. It's about as short as GT5 and GT 6 career modes. I was hoping a rebirth of GT4 which took me six months to completely clear. I finished the final GT 7 career championship today and I didn't even play the game yesterday or Thursday.
One big issue I have with this game is the tuning. Awesome that hardcore players can create an amazing car by tuning. But I’m not a hardcore player. I work and have like 1-2 hrs to play. I can’t tune that well so when I fully upgraded the mustang boss, I expected a badass NA 500 hp v8. Instead I got a horrible handling car and it would struggle through the gears topping out at 120 mph. I know it’s due to the lack of proper tuning, but after some attempts, the car still feels atrocious. I wish it was like forza horizon 3 where the cars would adjust to the mods instead of this set up that GT has where it requires the player to have tuning knowledge
Get the knowledge gt says its a simulation not a arcade game simulation means just that simulator take time to learn im like you same boat but i can blame the game for my lack of knowledge we got to take time to learn it man
I’ve loved GT since the beginning. The only one I didn’t like was GT Sport mainly because it was more of a online game with no real career mode. I bought a new wheel and a stand and chair for this game. I find it hard to use a wheel but with time I think I will get better. It’s a shame for the MT because it’s the one thing I do not like in video games. $70 for the basic game and $40 micro transaction cars are a joke. I got a invite from Lamborghini to buy the Veneno and the rate I was making money it was less to be desired. The career mode was finished in 2 sit downs. The MR cars are frustratingly hard to drive. I personally own a 2009 Audi R8, and driven Porsches on track and MR don’t handle like that.
@@greengamerguy623 This is what grinds my gears the most. Can't even play the game even though it's single player. I have a lot of patience then most, so i'm still enjoying my time with the game. Looking forward to the online Championship and FIA races.
First time buying a game with a single player campaign required to have an always online connection. Lesson learned. Heartbreaking to see because I was looking forward to playing more of this game but now I’ve decided to trade it in for something else.
"Whats going on with Gran Turismo 7" Well, to sum it up Sony let their greed, and their ego take over, and thought they could extort consumers because they thought "Oh, it's a Gran Turismo game, people will buy it no matter what" I just saved you 9 minutes and 45 seconds, you're welcome.
also gamingbolt is washing their hands of culpability, giving a 10/10 to a game without access to the microtransactions and keeping thier review up after they were added. That's almost as sleazy as the microtransaction-laden always-online $70 game they reviewed.
As an old fan of the original GT and GT2 it pains me to see this. Where are the times when you raced for the fun of it, with descend rewards and no grindfests?
PD should be commended for their commitment to realism! The rich get to play with whatever they please and the peasants suffer with inflation! Outstanding!
Lol, he wants the prices to reflect real life? I play games to get away from real life not get bent over like I do when I go get gas or have to go to the grocery store. What a bunch of shite
@@rickhunter6513 well they call themselves “The Real Driving Simulator”, so why not include everything? They should add haggling with dealers and endless extended warranty calls to GT8.
If devs make a great game people will want to play it for longer amounts of time. Devs making annoying changes to make the game longer on purpose, makes people want to spend less time on the game. It's the same with mtx's. I wish more game devs understood this.
I gotta say, those statements made by the game director are some of the most manipulative ones I have ever heard. I really hope people didn't buy into that bullshit. I would agree that PD absolutely needs to in the next patch to correct the always online DRM issue and make much more of single player accessible when the servers are down for maintenance or they run into patch issues like this, nothing less will be seen as acceptable as always online requirements is a total failure of the devs to imagine issues like this. Hopefully they learn this lesson quickly & correct it soon. Having such a large title have this kind of issue in its first 2 weeks from launch is very bad but I know PD will make the game better overtime just like GT sport. I just hope it doest take years to get some of these problems sorted
The fact that this game is a Live Service game WITH scamy MTAs is what ultimately made me NOT buy it, and im sticking to my guns too. Don't get your hopes up on DP patching this game up to be playable offline...This game is nothing like the series used to be, and not for the better either. DP made their choice, and so have i. I decided to vote with my wallet and not buy this game, and now hopefully more people will start to realize that there are zero benefits to Live Service games!
@@BrankoP85 thanks for your opinion and comment. But don’t tell me what to do with my hopes, it’s simply not your place. Same thing happened with GT sport and it will happen here with GT7 as well. So spend your $70 and hope they make it better someday? Yeah, no. That's why developers keep doing shitty things like this. Too many people just accept it or even make excuses for them. I played GT from the original but no more.
Between the insane mtx pricing, lowering the amount of money you earn and the servers being offline for a over 30 hours you have to be crazy if you're defending this.

Well stop buying games that have them or buy them only when in bargain bin (company will not earn much anyway). To be frank do you remember what was the prices for gt6 mtx? Go and check this is not the first game with mtx the difference is gt6 was generous with all the seasonal events and login bonus so without too much grinding it was easy to build a decent garage.
@@mikebuzz I only partly agree the reason why mobile gaming market is the biggest part of the pie if it comes to revenue is because a lot of games are free to play and than have the ridiculous grindy progression funneling players into paying. But still whales are 5 to 10% of all players. So a few generates most of the profit. For games which - like gt7 had a 70$ price it is enough that less and less people will buy the game. in general there will be less people who will spend additional money in it. This is a difference if gt7 was free to play I assume people would be more willing to accept the mobile game like grind.
It's not as simple as you make it out to be. When a game is *designed* around mtx - every aspect of that game's in-game economy serves to make mtx more attractive than simply playing the actual game. This is in contrast to games which otherwise have a fair in-game economy, but also include mtx to allow time-poor or impatient players to get a leg up (e.g. Driveclub). Personally, I don't think *any* full-priced game should have mtx, but it's possible to implement them without negatively affecting the core gameplay experience. Furthermore, these mtx are often designed using manipulative psychological techniques that exploit vulnerable people (e.g. people with addictive personalities). Putting aside the obvious ethical issues, some people simply *can't* resist mtx because they are more susceptible to these manipulative techniques through no fault of their own. This is the same shit that casinos pull. Finally, why is the burden on the individual to *not* fall prey to predatory mtx? When you have billion dollar corporations with access to cutting-edge behavioral scientists and marketing strategies, why do you expect the individual gamer to come out on top? Why not expect corporations, lawmakers, and regulatory bodies to do better?
GT5 was my favorite racing game of all time, and I would love to get a PS5 eventually and play GT7, BUUUUUUT there's no way I'm gonna do that if microtransactions are basically required, and in fact, even the online requirement is a deal-breaker for me. There are other good arcade-sim racers these days, so fairwell, gran turismo.
The Gran Turismo series made four great racing games, then they stopped and instead sold digital versions of cars for prices that can quickly multiply the cost of the game. Oh, and rubber banding and online requirements just to play are things that also should never exist and will never go away. Buy yourself a Brook adaptor for PS4/PS3/Xbox one controller to PS2 console or a good PS2 wheel and enjoy the real driving simulator if you want to do something other than compete with online opponents in a car you bought for real money. The Brook adaptor even lets you program button layouts as I understand it.
One thing I found funny was on the recent update, they said they wanted players to earn credits quicker and rely less on Microtransactions. So I go onto Special Stage X to see the prize. It went down from 30,000 to 15,000. As have other tracks. I love the game, but some things need to be ironed
I am glad I was smart, and once I learned that it was always online, I walked away. I want an offline game I can play whenever I want, with all that cars that I have. Much like GT2. So maybe when it's in the bargain bin maybe ill look into it.
Yeah, I feel the same as you. I absolutely hate online only games, especially those with a single player mode. It's just another way for the company to screw over customers.
All they have to do is make a GT game exactly like GT3 A-Spec (my personal fave, at least), with today’s graphics and physics, and they’d have a perfect game. Buy and sell cars. Tune them up. Fun little missions here and there. Diverse ways to make credits. If they’d gone that route, I’d gladly drop real money for credits if need be, or other cars/tracks. Hell, take (groan for some) Elden Ring, for example. As soon as anything drops for that game, I’ll buy it asap because I respect everything that From gave us to do without the need to buy more. But instead, companies want to nickel and dime us all the time. They don’t respect our time, or our money. IMO, Polyphony deserves the outrage that they’re receiving. Side note: While the cars and the weather look amazing, why do some aspects of the game (like the buildings in the Tokyo tracks) look like up-res models of a ps3 game?
PD have to learn from FROMSOFTWARE Many, many things! Fromsoftware is a perfec example how to make a masterpiece!!!! PD, PLEASE, learn from them! Respect Fromsoftware!!!
Back in the good ole days you could go to GameStop, Blockbuster, or even Walmart and get a game with all its content stored on a DVD-ROM. No downloads, waiting, or buying extras. If 10 years later you still have the game and the console to play it, no problem. But with GT7 mostly stored on a server, I wonder, will it's content still be available in 7 years?
I been playing this game since launch, I have encountered zero issues. I just see a lot of people who don't own the game or a PS5 just jumping on the interwebz gamerz hate train. Im enjoying the game and haven't had to spend one penny on anything and have plenty of cars, because you HAVE TO PLAY THE FKING GAME TO ACQUIRE VEHICLES. GamingBolt should NOT have rated this game a perfect 100 previously, even without MTX or server issues. The game isn't perfect in other aspects.. Kinda wild to have given it that score.
I was going to get this at launch, but with all these issues, I'm glad I decided to wait a while to see if they made it worse with updates, as they have.
From 9/10 to 7/10 for me. If they really wanted those $$. They should have not decreased race rewards. They just made people pissed of. They should have just used microtransactions on “Body Kits” like skins in other games. So each player would have unique car designs
@@tezzabhoy1888 so u want low pay out on races? I didnt say all body kits needs microtransaction. Just some unique body styles so if people wanna pay for it thats up to them. But we should be able to grind and get the cars.
Playing through GT7 made me appreciate Forza Motorsport 7 and how much money you can earn by doing Free Play custom races. I prefer GT's physics over Forza, but I've gone back to playing FM7 after getting tired of grinding the same couple of races in GT7 just to make some decent money. Now that they have apparently nerfed the money you get from those races, I don't see myself going back to GT7 for awhile if ever. I'm starting to not care that I never managed to get a PS5 with the way Sony is these days.
There are dozens of races in the game and they nerfed the credits on like 10 and that’s driven you to go play a game from 2017? 😂 I swear you people are so overdramatic. Just say you don’t actually play the game and you’re just here to join the bash wagon.

As the years go on, we will get more and more connected to the internet, not less. Servers will not just “go down” these games will always be playable one way or another. This game has me so split. I think the gameplay is great. Really like the dualsense experience on PS5 ….. BUT the MTX is criminal. I’m sure I could buy some of the cars IRL for the same amount as the MTX cost. Come on Polyphony and Sony. Get a grip please. The whole MTX is a bubble waiting to burst. Upping the grind to push more people toward MTX is just wrong.

I don't understand the high praise and ratings. It is the most arcade GT or acclaimed simulation I've ever played aside for Forza that caters to the inexperienced. If you do not want people grinding the same race over and over, you solve this problem with more content that pays a respectable amount. An easy fix for the time being is making endurance race pay worth the time for starters. Until then, it is completely disrespectful to nerf payouts as the game sits right now.
This is heartbreaking, as a longtime GT fan, I suppose it's a good move that I stopped playing after GT6, and switched to Xbox and discovered Forza, which has too grown dear to heart. So sad that like most things these days, what once was great, has now been ruined.
Yeah I have both consoles PS5 and Series X. Gamepass and Forza is a much better deal. This game looks good but the Mtx's in a full price game are not a good value proposition for racing fans. They are at it with tying game car prices to real world cars for rarity. Its a game. They are ripping people right off. They must think people are stupid, but I reckon most will see right though that. I am glad I never bought it for my PS5. I got Horizon Forbidden West which is great but for racing I have forza on my Series X and gamepass. Much better value. It is sad though, GT games were great.
I did the same, moved on to Forza after GT6 and never looked back until they released GT7, so I went and bought it and now have massive regret... Roll on Forza Motorsport 8.
What yall all complaining for just upgrade and tweek the cars you have to race specs stop crying for no reason this the best game ever made racing game that is

@Elden Ring I know, GT never disappoints gameplay wise. But when they turned it into a big grind, almost a second job, with predatory and greedy tactics, and stupid DRM it stops being fun for me. That's not an evolution of the GT games I love. That's a step backwards and won't support it.
Save your money... You're not missing anything. The game is great but the changes aren't worth the grind and we shouldn't reward devs for shady bad business. Hope the next forza is watching..

Maybe this is just me as a sim enthusiast but gating cars behind credits doesn't really impact me, provided cars have depth and require time to learn. It would be pleasure to take even some of the slowest cars around small tracks and idle with it. My real concern is the physics. Is it true to form? Do cars feel different, is there a weighty feel behind them or is it just a fake doll dunked in lipstick?
No one is mentioning how you need to be online just to play the single-player career mode. That's reason alone to not even touch this game. Review outlets are completely disingenuous and only review games to merely market them.
You are right. I had GT7 on my radar for a long time and I never heard its always online game thats sickening. What happened to independant journalists? They sold their soul just to get early access. If I buy a single player game I wanna be able to fire up and play the singleplayer portion anytime I want.
I just don’t understand how you can have such a great game with amazing gameplay with a fair payout system. When will these companies learn microtransactuons have no benefit apart from frustrating players, so far off from reality it’s unbelievable
"As much as $40" One of the current Legend cars is the McLaren F1 at a whopping 18.5 million credits, so that would cost you $200 if you want to flat out buy it.
Before the release, I was so hyped with the "back to basics" approach that GT was showing. I was planning on buying a PS5, a 4K TV and GT7 to get my childhood memories back. Imagine spending over a thousand bucks only to find out I've been scammed into a greedy microtransactions scheme. I'll stick to GT4, thank you.
I hope he keeps that same “real world” energy when PS-VR2 releases. But I feel like it’ll be a case of too little too late by that time. What a shame this has happened. It feels like the GT of old is dead. At least Forza Motorsport 8 isn’t far away.
@@7thNoteOfficial It's not out yet. But we'll see. Consider all the bad press revolving around GT7 and that Turn 10 is paying attention. Also GT 7 is cross gen. Motorsport 8 won't be. So we'll see.
2.5 on Metacritic currently. the damage is done, unfortunately, and it will be really hard to recover. how i got money back in GT4 is to run 2-300km endurance races. these type of things are just a joke now in GT7. 100ish k CR for a 24h Nürburgring? what? to me it seems that $ony stepped up and let Polyphony know that they want more income. and in rush this new "system" has been implemented. Poly should say quickly how they want to fix this.
We don’t live in a Men‘s Men Era anymore everything is just garbage nowadays back in the day these things would have never happened with microtransactions etc cause people actually had the balls like us who tell the truth but unfortunately nowadays most of the society are snowflakes , they don’t make them like the old school anymore 👊🏽
It is an absolute joke. They're expecting people to pay £/$70 for what it primarily a single player game with online DRM. Online multi player is optional therefore online DRM shouldn't be anywhere near this game or any other mainly single player games. This was the perfect Gran Turismo game even with the optional microtransactions. The gameplay, graphics and overall feel of the game is perfect. But this DRM is absolutely bullshit and will end up killing the game off. What has pissed me off the most is the fact that they never once made anyone aware about this DRM before sale. They knew for a fact that no one would have paid the £70 asking price, I certainly wouldn't.
I’ve been playing Gran Turismo since 1998 and had been a huge fan of the series, until PD released the very meh Gran Turismo Sport. GT7 reeled me back in, but after the 1.07 update offline fiasco and the terrible changes they’ve made, this might be the last straw. If it doesn’t change anytime soon, I’ll be avoiding any future GT games.
Polyphony insanity aside, this pretty much shows how "off" GamingBolt's reviews are. Even without the micro transactions, this is in no way a 10/10 game. 8/10? Sure. 10/10? Are you insane? You guys "fanboy'ed", we get it.
What ever happened to Official PlayStation magazine's. Instead of reliying on These So Called Gaming Reviews. Back in the Day, it was people who knew what thay were on about, most of the time. & Way, Way before micro transactions.. Remember those Days. 👍
Removing always online is priority. There's no excuse for that. As for MTX, people could just ignore them and not support them so it isn't really an issue. But when a game is always online, that's just BS.
I am a longtime Gran Turismo player since the very first entry in 1999, and can unequivocally say that this game is the biggest disappointment. At least with GT Sport we had an idea of what we were getting, with 7 we expected a return to form ala GT1, GT2, GT3 and it is not that. This game has inexcusable micro transactions, an always online need for single player, and the cafe system is a HUGE disappointment. They took all the goodwill they had with us the fans and spit and stomped on it and said they didn’t want it.
I actually enjoy the Cafe a lot. The micro transactions are a pain but they really need to bring the regular credit amounts back. Cutting the credits in half is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard!
I was on the fence about purchasing but since this latest decision toward “pay for play has convinced me not to”… I would rather know that I have to grind out the earnings playing the game knowing it was a level playing field with other people … but $40 or more per car is ridiculous and on that note I have no more interest…
I was seriously considering hunting down a PS5 and getting this game, because quite honestly, I always loved Gran Turismo since the first one. I got 100% on every single one up to 4, and then after that I went to Forza. Loved Forza just as much, but always missed GT. But after hearing about these updates.. makes me a bit weary. Seeing what's going on, it's a bit sad. Microtransactions are fine for those who choose to use them. Some people see no problem spending money like that, and more power to them. However, when you knock the prize money down substantially to where everyone noticed it immediately, that's just ripping the stitches out right after the wound got sewn up. I never had an issue grinding to get what I wanted in the games, but it seems now they're just doing it arbitrarily. Good news is, with enough negative feedback, they can fix it, and release another patch and make everyone happier again.
Dont do it. I went out and got a ps5 just for gt7 and wasted 85 dollars and im already done with the cafe in the game theres no career. They nerfed the money. Unless theres other games you want to play. You really dont need a ps5 you can play the same games on ps4 or pro. I have seris x and like that better with game pass.
I really hope this game fails and there's mass request for refund from these set of robbers called Polyphony. I can't count the number of cars I just mop at without being able to use them in GT sport.
I’m really disappointed. You can’t ruin your experience doing mechanically always the same race, but if you pay for micro transitions…there are no problems.
I appreciate you making a video about this. Gaming is the only place the great majority of us will ever get a chance to drive some of these cars and GT has always been the pinnacle of this for me but now they have ruined one of the gaming series I had the most regard for with their greed.
I’m looking forward to getting a PS5 but gran turismo sport will be the last version I buy! This push to micro purchases is nothing more than a money grab! Is a game worth continuously paying for? NO!
Why would you get a system where games cost $75 after taxes??? Makes no since to me. Xbox games remain $59.99 and 1st party games are released day 1 on Game Pass. Oh well, people spend their money how they see fit. Enjoy.
Outlets need to re-review this game. The experience they had does not reflect what players are actually experiencing. The MTX situation is down right deceptive. A Re-review is not without precedent. Most live service games are reviewed once feature finalized.
The game is fun. As a casual player, I wasn't nearly as mad as others when the servers went down. It was irritating, but I played elden ring instead. I just straight up won't bother with micro transactions. I enjoy the gameplay enough to want to race and earn credits thru the in game economy. I'm not looking to collect all cars, just the ones I really want/need, so I feel like there's enough chances to stack my credits and grind out that car. People need to relax a little before burning shit down imo
They lazy bro they think gt 7 is a charity and must supply all cars free lol wheres the fun in that when you see people with those cars you know they put in the work or bought the car it makes it unique as not everyone will just have those cars good on gt7
Same here I only get to play it a couple times a week because lack of time but I dont really pay attention to micro transactions and I am really enjoying the game.
Such a great game. Not (and never) interested in microtransactions for any game. Happy to grind as this is a long haul game. Not a completed-it-in-one-weekend so what do I do now type of game.
Grinding is fine. Thats how GT has always been. The problem is there are only 4....4.....4 DAMN races worth grinding. It is a terrible loop. Theres already a lack of tracks and races and many of the cars are useless because there aren't races to use them in. If they simply made payouts solely on time spent, there would be a lot more grinding options and the game would be 100x better. Then, they can add in more tracks and races... problem solved
The first 10 hours of playing the campaign is great. The game is half finished at best though. Multiplayer feels like a beta at best. The economy is broken. The AI is dumb. The variety is non-existent.
I’m on the fence to which console I wanted to get. A huge deciding factor was going to be GT or FM… I guess it’s looking good for Xbox so far. And there’s no proper damage model in GT and the dated car roster already soured it for me.
It doesn't make sense to me that, in a game like this, microtransactions are being looked at as a negative. At all. That mentality works off the idea that "in order to acquire those cars/credits you're paying for, you HAVE to pay for them". No. Not at all. In reality, you're trading one currency for the other. Either you: 1) Spend your money getting cars/credits, or 2) Spend your TIME getting cars/credits. Some people would rather use money, a renewable currency, over spending time, a finite currency. But in a title like this, the game is created in such a way that just playing through the "career" will net you cars and credits, which will make you competitive in any race you enter if you know what you're doing. Eventually you can afford that "unicorn car". Do 20 races to have the credits to get that car you want, or spend $20. I'm not saying "what's the difference?" I'm saying "what's the problem?" I do not like microtransactions, when they affect one's ability to win. Cosmetic stuff, and stuff that just means you have more money, don't make a difference to me. It's just a coat of pretty paint, or a shortcut. And it doesn't come out of my wallet, so why should I care? I'll beat them with the cars I earned up to this point. Nothing else gets looked at this way. Think of musicians in a competition. One may have taught themselves, the other may have hired a tutor. That doesn't mean either is better than the other. One simply reached that level of skill sooner, because they spent the money for a shortcut. Stop having such a heavy negative reaction to a minor thing, everyone. It's silly.
They hid microtransactions from reviewers and then lowered credit rates. These are predatory practices meant to deceive the buyers. I feel scammed and want a refund. I never would have bought this game had I known itd be like this
That's why you never buy a game day one always wait about 2 to 3 months to see what happens.
@@joshuajefferson3504 no they shouldnt change the credits. Two or three months don't matter. It's disgusting.
It honestly WOULD likely stand up in court as a predatory practice, bait and switch at minimum, which is also illegal. When the profits are in the hundreds of millions(likely) it would be a felony.
Quick, we all need to launch a class action suit so the lawyers can make even money off this debacle.
Unfortunately that's all useless. Those user agreements you don't read and just agree to, protect the companies from silly things like lawsuits.
Ah.. I see what they did here. Release the part of the game they know people will love, wait for the reviews, then release the part everyone will dislike. Typical scummy business tactic.
Wonderful insight, Jason.

This.
I agree
We need to stop calling them microtransactions, they are not. There is nothing micro about £15 for 2 millions credits
Boomer
Yeah I totally agree man!! THIS IS SO tRUE
They really just need a truly long offline career mode, starter cars all the way up to F1.
Makes no sense if this been happening since the early 2000s
I think Mtx's are fine when small and just cosmetic. Pricier Mtx's are fine in free to play, but not in a full price game.
@@MassiveHappyClapper Yeah a couple dollars here and there seems ok but when some of the cars cost nearly as much in MTX as the entire game, those transactions aren’t so micro anymore.
Governments don't have to do nothing. It's the players who have to stop buying games that have microtransactions. It's the players fault.
As an old fan of the original GT and GT2 it pains me to see this. Where are the times when you raced for the fun of it, with descend rewards and no grindfests?
Not pre ordering games isn't even enough anymore, now I have to wait a full year after release to see what the actual finished product is.
PD should be commended for their commitment to realism! The rich get to play with whatever they please and the peasants suffer with inflation! Outstanding!
That's one way to look at it. I guess it's the most realistic racing game I've ever played.

Next update: pay for car insurance for every car in your garage with real money.
If devs make a great game people will want to play it for longer amounts of time.
Devs making annoying changes to make the game longer on purpose, makes people want to spend less time on the game.
It's the same with mtx's. I wish more game devs understood this.
they dont.. because they can make more money by milk out the 20% people that are back.
I gotta say, those statements made by the game director are some of the most manipulative ones I have ever heard. I really hope people didn't buy into that bullshit. Hopefully they learn this lesson quickly & correct it soon. Having such a large title have this kind of issue in its first 2 weeks from launch is very bad but I know PD will make the game better overtime just like GT sport. To be frank do you remember what was the prices for gt6 mtx? Go and check this is not the first game with mtx the difference is gt6 was generous with all the seasonal events and login bonus so without too much grinding it was easy to build a decent garage.
some people have too much money and are impatient -the market will always exist, and they will continue to exploit the consumer.
No David blame the companies. They are all about greed
Good news- they are totally not required
The Gran Turismo series made four great racing games, then they stopped and instead sold digital versions of cars for prices that can quickly multiply the cost of the game. Oh, and rubber banding and online requirements just to play are things that also should never exist and will never go away.
Buy yourself a Brook adaptor for PS4/PS3/Xbox one controller to PS2 console or a good PS2 wheel and enjoy the real driving simulator if you want to do something other than compete with online opponents in a car you bought for real money. The Brook adaptor even lets you program button layouts as I understand it.
It’s so realistic! I can’t afford these cars in real life OR in the game! Wow!!🤩
One thing I found funny was on the recent update, they said they wanted players to earn credits quicker and rely less on Microtransactions.
So I go onto Special Stage X to see the prize. It went down from 30,000 to 15,000. As have other tracks.

All this and more before forcing microtransactions even more then they were previously. I don't understand the high praise and ratings. It is the most arcade GT or acclaimed simulation I've ever played aside for Forza that caters to the inexperienced. If you do not want people grinding the same race over and over, you solve this problem with more content that pays a respectable amount. Removing always online is priority. There's no excuse for that. As for MTX, people could just ignore them and not support them so it isn't really an issue. But when a game is always online, that's just BS.
You gave this game a 10/10 before you even played through it
That's the problem with the gaming media
I am a longtime Gran Turismo player since the very first entry in 1999, and can unequivocally say that this game is the biggest disappointment. At least with GT Sport we had an idea of what we were getting, with 7 we expected a return to form ala GT1, GT2, GT3 and it is not that. This game has inexcusable micro transactions, an always online need for single player, and the cafe system is a HUGE disappointment. Why does hardly anyone mention the lack of cars newer than 2017? Did they stop manufacturing cars after 2017?
Gran Turismo pulling a move out of Rockstars GTA playbook.
Enjoy.
@@estone9960 wow. Still on that? Microsoft mashes horrible games. Halo infinite was the best they could do and that's sad
@@estone9960 I prefer the PlayStation ecosystem! I have an Xbox 360 and feel no need to upgrade game prices are the same as each other in the U.K.
Not a completed-it-in-one-weekend so what do I do now type of game.

lets see if you feel the same after grinding 50+ hours to get a special car
Grinding is fine. Thats how GT has always been. The problem is there are only 4....4.....4 DAMN races worth grinding. It is a terrible loop. Theres already a lack of tracks and races and many of the cars are useless because there aren't races to use them in. If they simply made payouts solely on time spent, there would be a lot more grinding options and the game would be 100x better. Then, they can add in more tracks and races... problem solved
while i feel sorry for modern gamers, y'all have no one to blame but yourselves.
The first 10 hours of playing the campaign is great. The game is half finished at best though. Multiplayer feels like a beta at best. The economy is broken. The AI is dumb. The variety is non-existent.
What is there to do after finishing cafe my friend? I thought this was supposed to be the best driving game. Im already not having anymore fun.
The sense of speed is more asinine than that of GT sport
I’m on the fence to which console I wanted to get. A huge deciding factor was going to be GT or FM… I guess it’s looking good for Xbox so far. And there’s no proper damage model in GT and the dated car roster already soured it for me.
I will be doing the same, i bought PS4 only because of GT to ge the shitty GTsport and missing Forza. I won't make that mistake again.
How the hell is this not bait and switch??
I'm not saying "what's the difference?" I'm saying "what's the problem?"
I do not like microtransactions, when they affect one's ability to win.
It's silly.
in other words, don't buy aaa games with online features at launch. i see the pattern.
