As a CLA45 (original) owner -- the reasons why I didn't go with this iteration is the exhaust note (OPF filter they were forced to put in with this generation) and the lack of S version coming to US.

But the point is that you may get 70 percent of the performance but you can have extra passengers for the same price. How often does anyone buy a car and take on the track everyday?
You rightly point out the performance difference in rubber between the Michelin and pirelli here but failed to mention it on the a35 v a45 test? The a35 was also hampered by the pirelli tyres
Good point. The A35 makes its tyres work really well, also AWD traction meant it felt almost completely glued down, so I don't think the tyre was a huge factor on that car. Interestingly, I can definitely corner faster in the A35 than in the Cayman T. -Rory
Cayman T is like AUDI a3 of Porsche loool... I agree, it's definitely disappointing. However, Porsche, Aston Martin & McLaren never disappoints when it comes to churning the same car with slight, miniature and very subtle variants. Sorry, I don't understand, why you say, the Cayman T is slow, yes it's not the fastest but it's a base model and base models are traditionally not the fastest, just for example, a base model A-Class is also not the fastest. I know, this video is about the 50000£, but if you want to buy a Porsche so badly and can only spend that much money, then you clearly don't get a performance monster. Buy a used 911 or so instead. Porsche is not about budget, value or performance for cheap, they are a traditional brand, which makes expensive cars, for people who love these kind of cars and don't care about the things mentioned earlier. I myself grew up with a dad, who is carzy about Porsche and he also didn't buy like a Corvette, which is cheaper but has about equal performance as a 911, because the 911 is just in any way different and in other ways better. You also don't critizise Lamborghini for charging well over 200000£ for a car, there are a lot cheaper cars with better performance, but the world isn't always about value for money etc...
The 718 sounds like a asthmatic donkey with a lion's heart.... the chicken man: But you wouldn’t because I suspect you’ll never be able to buy a vehicle of that value. Truly once you get up to those cars resale value is of interest, but it isn’t the killer perceived by the able purchaser.

You want to make the Cayman T the proper "greatest hits of Caymans" and spec it with the most desired options? I would get the Tesla model 3 performance for that price.
A45s it's a Mercedes it will loose 10k in 12 months so I would pick the Porsche for me
A cayman will loose the same. Only the GT and RS models that hold money
The porsche is gonna lose the same value too stupid
WTF is you talkin about?👀
the chicken man: But you wouldn’t because I suspect you’ll never be able to buy a vehicle of that value.
Truly once you get up to those cars resale value is of interest, but it isn’t the killer perceived by the able purchaser.
The a45 will definitely lose way more than the Porsche, whether that costs the initial buyer differently is just down to how you ‘buy’ it. Just look at used cayman prices vs used merc
If I want practicality at 50k it won’t be an A45, maybe another Mercedes. For a sports car, I’d go for the Porsche any day.
You want to make the Cayman T the proper "greatest hits of Caymans" and spec it with the most desired options? Then give it back a naturally aspirated flat six and a six-speed box, just like you did with the GTS. Only less powerful, of course. Wow, that would be the best way to spend 50k on a sports car.
I had no idea an A Class could be as expensive as £50K...........I think I'd be disappointed with either.
track times on dry surfaces?
