As an amateur graphic designer who is adamantly against working in a corporate environment, this was incredibly insightful. Thank you for putting your time into this!
I am so impressed with the progress with your designs over the past year. Just by scrolling on your Instagram feed you can see the shift in your designs. It’s so inspiring and it makes me want to get back into graphic design. I even want to make my own RUclips channel now for graphics
Thank you for answering my question! And thank you for all the other advice, especially on confidence! Realizing that someone else's judgement is really a reflection of their own insecurities is actually *very* helpful and made me feel better 😄
My absolute pleasure!! I'm so glad this has helped!! It's so true about people insecurities though, you've just got to get on and do your thing and not worry about what other people are doing or thinking x
Hi Abi!! I'm LOVING your new videos!! I really feel you got way better than when I first saw your videos (some time ago) and it's truly amazing seeing you growing as a designer (it gives me so much confidence in getting confortable with my own jorney 😊). Thank you and keep up with the great work!
I love your videos! I’m just starting out in graphic design trying to get jobs and you’ve really pulled me out of some slumps! Tysm for your content! Also I love your workspace!!!
My job is currently assigning our graphic designers like 20 clients 😰 it's very hectic rn and as someone who is mostly a graphic artist and not really a layout designer or ad designer, it's definitely a big jump, especially with all those deadlines every week.
Hi abi : i noticed you did a brand redesign after i watched your Branding yourself video. Id love to hear about your rebranding and what aspects you decided to change and why.
Great videos. I've been watching for a few days now and been getting the motivation I need. Can you do a video on fonts, like must have kind of fonts, and just done good advice on getting fonts
thank you Abi for this video! 😀I love your colourful design and it has given me inspiration especially through your design challenges. I'm still working on the confidence thing, starting as a freelancer after a career change is tough. Just one question, if you work with 3 ish clients a month, how long do you quote for the project to be finished on average? I'm interested because I hadn't had the appreciative clients yet, but some clients I have had wanted things done yesterday...which affects my creative process as I'm time pressured (I know I'm working on the boundary setting too...). 😊
How do you attract potential clients to see your (fake) projects. I have to start out with fake projects for practice but I don’t know how to bring on clients. Do you use hashtags to bring them to your page or?
So I just utilise social media, I would say 60% of my clients come from RUclips, they come across a video and enquire to work with me! The others are from Instagram. If I had one piece of advice for freelancers, it would be to build an online presence!
I have done few works, some imaginative and some redesigning of well known brands but I don’t know where to publish my work for people to see it. Can you give some advise as I’m a beginner in this field
i'm having a bit of a blonde moment. do you send the proposal before you get the job or after they hire you? i'm sort of confused because you are then doing a lot of work before they even hire you. sorry i'm having a brain blank. (recently had surgery so i'm feeling woozy) but on an up note, i came up with quite a few ideas for brand passion (fake) projects to do for my website and the name of the projects as well! yay!
That’s okay! There’s definitely no right or wrong way to do this! But I send a proposal over before they hire me, stating their goals and needs along with the project scope and a quote! Hope you’re okay after your surgery!!! But glad you’ve come up with some fun projects to work on, they are such a great way of developing your skills list having fun with the design!
@@abiconnick indeed & your enthusiasm is contagious! I'm recovering nicely from surgery on Friday, although not quite well yet. Getting there though. Take care & have a great weekend!
I’m actually a co host on a podcast called ‘off air - the juicy designer podcast’ and in episode 5 (I believe) we talk everything design contracts and there’s so much information in there about what to include, software to use and lots more 🥳
not just insecurity also shows how childish and underdeveloped they are; and rightly said, if you cant do something you might turn into an arsehole and pull others down with you

No Problem! Glad the video was helpful! (I'm not the biggest fan or a corporate environment either, rather work in my dressing gown😂)

Hye @abhiDesign happy anniversary to complete your 1 year as a RUclips creator. 👏

Thank you so much for sharing this... Talia
No problem 😊
You are very good at what you do
Hi abi : i noticed you did a brand redesign after i watched your Branding yourself video. Id love to hear about your rebranding and what aspects you decided to change and why.
Potentially have a video about this coming in the new year! So keep on the lookout 👀

congrats on learning After Effects, that's not an easy program to use. i got as far as Premiere Pro, but never got very far with AE. good on ya!
Both after effects & Premiere are for sure daunting to learn at the start 😂Luckily I outsource all the motion graphics & editing now, Pheww!😅
can you make a video on how to make presentations, I'd really appreciate that
Thank you for this video
Did you purchase online courses to help you learn these different Adobe softwares?
Hi Abi! First of all, I am new to graphic design and you are being such an inspiration to me and I am learning a lot from you!
ILYSM ABI!!!!!
This is the kind of comment that makes my day🤣💛 too much love x

hey abi! have you got any website?
Hi there 👋 yes I have this one: www.abiconnick.co.uk/
@@abiconnick thank you very much i'll get inspiration from your web as it looks amazing same as your you tube.
Hey abi! Can you tell me how you make a contract for your project?
I’m actually a co host on a podcast called ‘off air - the juicy designer podcast’ and in episode 5 (I believe) we talk everything design contracts and there’s so much information in there about what to include, software to use and lots more 🥳
What do you charge to create a logo?
If it is virtually, Where do you deliver? Is Google drive a good option?
For client files i send these over WeTransfer and tell the client they have to download everything within 7 days.
does graphic designer require math? math is my weakest subject
No you don't have to be strong at maths x
