How good is Rural King’s customer service on their tractors?

    Thats quite a testimony. Speaks highly of their customer service and salesperson. Glad they made it right. I'm interested in a RK 37. A real workhorse from everything I have researched. Thanks for sharing your story.

      Yes it is, it’s a very strong tractor. And the cab AC makes hot days not so bad.

    Way to go Rural King. Now that's how business is supposed to go. The tires changed the whole looks of the tractor. Made a nice tractor look even better. Thanks for sharing makes me wish I had a Rural King in my town.

      It changes how the tractor handles too! It’s a lot less bumpy, and much more stable.

    I recently purchased the same tractor and love it as well. None of your issues but not getting indicator lights showing in 4WD or the parking break. Great guys at RK so I’m confident they take care of it.

    I just ordered an RK37HC from Brian Saturday. I live in Volusia County, Florida so I also opted for the cab. Hope to take delivery in about 4 weeks.

    Bought my RK 25 from Scott and Brian at Ocala store. They were great to deal with and love my tractor. RK has two great employees who will take that extra effort to make sure the customer is happy.

      I haven't bought a tractor from Ocala but, I have purchased some 3 point equipment from them and Gainesville. I don't know why they put two stores so close together and nothing in Lake City or Valdosta.

      Well a cylinder started leaking on my grapple after about 15 hrs of use...called Brian and met with him. He ordered a new cylinder under warranty. Ordered end of January its now middle of February. Sure hope it's comes in soon. Meanwhile still using leaking grapple. Will update when I get it replaced.

      The pandemic has put wait times on just about everything. He ordered a door seal for me and it took several months but it finally came in and they replaced it for me. Brian and Julian are both great guys and will take good care of you.

    Glad you had a good experience with RK. Good of you to praise them when praise is due. I have a RK tractor also. It's a little different dealing with them than the other tractor dealers.

      Wow, that's a tough question to answer without sounding negative. Let's just say that RK isn't set up like the other major tractor dealerships. It's sort of an after thought and it comes down to the management of each store. I would recommend to anyone thinking of buying an RK tractor that before they buy, they talk to the people in the service and parts area of the tractors first. When I bought mine, that was pretty much the same person. He also setup the lawn mowers, chainsaws, tillers 3 point implements on the lot.

    Glad they got everything squared away. I have been dealing with rk in zephryhills. They have a great tractor dept. there also. It's good to know about the ocala store as I am closer to them.

    I am waiting on my RK37 to arrive. I opted for the shuttle shift open station and the R4 tires. Eager to get it and put it to work. Purchased it from Sam at the store in Martin Tennessee.

      Awesome! You will love it, and I prefer shuttle shift over hydrostatic any day.
      The two reasons we went with the cab are the miserable Florida humidity and heat along with my increased allergy issues. It didn’t change the payment enough to matter so we bit the bullet.

    You should consider 2” wheel spacers especially since it appears you have a variety of potential operators. Adds quite a bit of stability.

    Thank you for this update. My wife and I reside in Marion County FL and are interested in either the upcoming TYM T25 or Rural King RK25. I've spoken to Brian (many times) from the Ocala Rural King and he's always been patient with us and answers all my questions. I've also noticed the faded RK tractors and was told it was because of poor UV protection during the painting process and has been rectified. Any info about your experiences with your RK tractor will be greatly appreciated.

      The fading was my only concern as well. Everything has been great so dar, and I am very happy with the tractor. TYM actually manufactures these tractors as well, but they have a Yanmar engine and drivetrain. Yanmar has been reliable for many years. Brian has been great, I definitely recommend them to anyone.

      I’ve had RK 37 for 3 yrs and yes I have had issues but they have been very good at handling any problems. No regrets at all.

      @@MaynardFamilyHomestead All paints will fade in the sun but I believe red will fade the most. It won't have any affect on how it works.

    I bought a rk55 and I wanted the R1 tires because I do not like the R4 tires, RK told me it would cost me $1200 and I didn't think that was right, to this day I still have the R4 tires and I hate them in mud and I dont like them at all.

      I know exactly what you mean. The R4 tires look great on the picture, but in real life they are terrible. Rural King started off great, I feel like they might be falling apart at this point. Their customer service has gone downhill. My salesman Brian moved south to another store, so unfortunately I can’t deal with him anymore. He was fantastic.

    Maynard - Just so you know, I'm paying attention, and I dig it. I'll send you a longer message later. Keep it up.
    I had never heard of RK before. My brother in law, is quite a diesel/hydraulic mechanic, and he has worked for everyone from John Deere, to Kambouka, or whatever, enough to be payed far too much money to play golf in Japan, and it put his 4 kids thru College, being paid about $500,000 a year, eventually, just to oversee some things overseas. It was easy money, that he worked hard to get to. He's now retired on the Chesapeake Bay, and could care less, but he still fixes tractors for friends, which is just how he started. The exchange, is usually in fish or deer, all of which he can get himself. Funny how life comes around.
    It was he who taught me to skin and butcher deer (and hog). I suppose, so that he didn't have to do it, now that I think of it. I was amazed, of course, and I've carried it with me, but apparently, I was the fool. Just kidding, as I learned my lessons. I could skin a deer in less than 10 minutes, which somehow, was a big thing, as if I really cared. Snout to tail, nothing was wasted. We used to tan the hides, basically, from the guts, but you had to be there.
    I was never really good at tanning, but I tried my best. I learned a bit, but never got good enough. For my efforts, even failed, they gave me hide enough for my sister to teach me how to stitch it, into a proper coat. I'd still have it, but I had met a woman who wanted it more, and you know how that goes. Nothing untoward, just kindness, but I gave it to her, as she was a close friend.

      ​@@MaynardFamilyHomestead - Well, he's not a great grandfather yet, but the way things are looking, he probably will be in about 3 or 4 years, as his grandkids are now of age and in committed relationships.
      He grew up fixing up old Austin/Healy's and the like with his father, who always had at least two in the driveway, that they'd make new and sell for a profit, after tooling around in them for a bit, just to make sure they worked properly, of course. His father is long dead, but my BIL, still does the same. He's a master of it.
      His father, was an engineer by trade and worked for Grumman, and he was involved in designing and building the Lunar Landing Module, when he wasn't busy re-building old British sports cars.
      His favorite joke was, Do you know why the British don't build computers? Pause. Because they haven't figured out how to make them leak oil yet. It's just a joke, but he and his son, my bff in High School, and now BIL, learnt how to seal them up tight.
      When I was 13, my future BIL was about 14, and could strip down and re-build any car made, to it's merest parts. Other than being a decent helper, all I could do, was sail. He loves to fish as well as I love to eat fish, but since I could get him there, we got along well, still do. I'm not much of a fisherman.
      In terms of farm machinery, he went from John Deere, to Massey-Ferguson, some other Japanese company I can't remember (but is common), and then to Kaboda, however it's spelt. He did learn some Japanese and other than golfing there, he was basically in charge of designing the program to teach the Distributors and Service Techs, world-wide, how to deal with every new thing that Kaboda put out. He digested it, he was involved in the production and then trained others how to train others, as he was also training others, himself. No wonder they paid him the big bucks. Believe me, he earned it. I was there often enough to see it.
      Sorry to get so carried away. You seem to have some blessings yourself. Come on, 10 kids, in this day and age, isn't very common, altho, by the vids I've seen so far, they all seem pretty happy and co-operative. We'll see how long that lasts. Just kidding, my father was one of ten and I am one of six, so I'm somewhat familiar with the concept, in that it fosters dependency on each other, so I can see it working. It's worked for us.

    Looks like Rural King really treated you guys Right! I think they just sold 50 more tractors this week in Florida alone. Looks like you got an RK heavy-duty quick hitch. I had the light weight one for 15 miniutes before it folded up like a pretzel. It only cost 99.99$ (ya get what ya pay fef), consequently RK reimbursed me for that experiment. Used only because that paticular tractor( a M-F 1988 1020, 21 hp unit) did not have extendable lower links like your RK37 & my other 2 tractors. I personaly see practicaly no use for these attachment (helpers)--- especially when a tractor had the adjustable-slip lower links. Setting these units up for ALL of one's attachments is a nightmare or imposible or impractcal (maybe 2 or 3 at a time---tops). Don't ya still got ta get off of the tractor to adjust the 3point assemblies & what about the drive shaft hook-up. Maybe its the weight(maybe 85lbs) , a bumper, or may it just looks kool----still trying to figure it all out. Fer a measly 250$ aw why not . I am going to change my old fasioned (entry-level) direct ball link end hitch bars with adjustable hitch-link bars( just 350.oo$) and be done with ALL "fancy" add on contraptions. Good thing your RK37 came so equiped.
    Just buy a Rural King 37 shuttle shift and be done with it,---right?

    Good for Rural King! What are you going to do to protect the finish on the tractor? We don't have RK up here in NH. Watch out for your valve stems on the rims, it doesn't look like they have any protection.

      Take a look at other mfg’s tires, I believe they weld a steel piece of metal around the stem with a notch for an air compressors tire inflator. I don’t know if you will be going in heavy brush, but if you are this will help!

    It was the other way around with me my RK55 came with R4 tires that I hate they suck not made for mud I wanted R1 Tires but RK would not trade them out.

    We have a RK 55 With are 14Tires They are much better than are 1 And our 1 If you ever get the chance to try 1 try it

    dnt be so sure that you made mistake tires . it sounds that they had installed row crop ag tires which are narrower than reg ular ag tires

    They installed a Mahindra backhoe frame on my rk 55 tractor which was shorter than the rk frame barely fit in the mounts. Under the tractor. Ready to fall out anytime. After 6 month Of dealing with the Marion Ohio store I had to get a lawyer involved in order to get a a service tech to switch the frame out. The Mahindra frame is shorter and was really loose and sloppy in the mounts. Only held in by a 1/8”. The mount bolts came out and fell on the grounds because of the sloppy fit. Marion Ohio does not have very good service. The techs that finally came and switched it out is who told it was a Mahindra frame that was installed on my tractor.

      That stinks! I have heard that TYM makes Mahindra and RK tractors as well. Mahindra uses their own engine package where I think TYM and RK use Yanmar engines. I’m glad you finally got your issue resolved.

      Rk received a couple loads of Mahindra frames and some of them was sent out on rk backhoes by accident.

    The customer service at their Circleville, OH Rural King is horrible at best. After you leave with the tractor you’re on your own! The girl in charge of the tractor department knows absolutely nothing about tractors and she’s not concerned about the customers needs. She’s there to collect a paycheck and nothing mo.

    The Knoxville and Maryville TN stores sure aren't run like that. Pretty sad. I really liked the tractors but there's no way I was buying a tractor there. I went and bought a Mahindra.
    This company doesn't seem to have a rep they send out to check on their stores. Seems like they have no standards.
    Really disappointing. They have the potential to be awesome.

      Ahhh, thats too bad. Yeah the manager here is personally invested in each of his clients, and he does whatever it takes to make them happy. TYM makes Mahindra as well, but Mahindra uses their own engine package instead of Yanmar.

      I have been considering an RK Tractor (it would probably come from Knoxville/Maryville/Morristown RK). Tell me what happened and that I need to be aware of. I am on the fence about an RK tractor and definitely don't need any bad luck! I'd be interested in hearing your 'buyer beware' story. Thanks so much Steve.....

    Customer service is ass,2mo old tractor,trans gone,they refuse to fix,said i gotta pay 8k....no thanks,junk,run away
