The narrative on drogbas low scoring seasons is so lazy and proof people didn’t watch games they just look and goals and appearances . Look at his minutes played those seasons how many times he started and how many injuries he had in those seasons. Nah fuck drogba scoring in big game thing . Just his heading , skill , hold up play , vollying , ball striking alone he’s the Complete striker could make goals on his own. (Liverpool fan ). Back in the 4-4-2 days the second striker was basically a false 9/10 and there to create for the main striker so this whole “hold their own with the new formations” is a bs narrative you just spun. Football evolves and the evolution from 4-4-2 to formations like 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 is ironically more accommodating for the striker as they have more support from the wing and the central midfield has an extra man.
@@guneytopal1713you know why that isn’t correct because even in them 4-4-2 the striker that played behind would still be on the second centre back meaning both opposition centre backs where occupied. Them strikers that played up front on their own was one vs two

Also if you wanna talk about that slip, he was 34 getting 13g and 13 a from that position while some of these man’s legends are retiring in Saudi or can’t even play 3 games in a row. Also Gerrard played from 16 to 34 so there’s no excuses to fall off like Kdb from 26 to 32. I love Kdb but Gerrard is clear man
The Steven Gerrard disrespect is crazy and got me fuming even tho it’s all about opinions. In every facet Gerrard was better. Gerrard could play every position while Kdb played in a attacking role in a pep side that controlled possession. If Kdb played in a city team that wasn’t possession based idt he would perform as well. Also the slip that everyone talks about was Gerrard at 34 playing DM at the end of his career while having 13g and 13a. Gerrard also had the longevity from 16 to 34. When Kdb was injured Gundogan carried and in the game vs Villa. City always found a way without him I.e the CL final. The only thing Kdb has is over Gerrard is pl titles but that’s a TEAM achievement not an individual achievement.
Go check who got the game winning assist for gundogan?, that season kdb was the top goalscorer 🤣 talking about carryjob, the treble season he was the best player, haaland damn near won a ballon dor off kdb assisting him. And last season he came back Newcastle and flipped the league.
De Bruyne’s in my All Time PL XI. Idk how Matisse comfortably put him bottom esp when Stevie G didn’t even win 1 Prem. Titles and trophies is what it’s about
Neither R9 or Eric Cantona got to a CL final, never mind actually won the competition. According to your criteria they also couldn't have been top drawer given that Gerrard won the CL and made another final unlike those two players.
@ It’s not about that. The league is bread and butter, you compete for the league every single season. The UCL you might not always be in that competition. If Gerrard really wanted to win a league, he should have left even gone abroad
@@daany8700 Football is a team game. Kane never got anywhere near winning the PL. Is he not a PL great? The gratest ever players won a lot of trophies and the greatest ever clubs won a lot of trophies. If you scored loads of goals (Kane) or played really well (Gerrard) every game but it contributed to 0 League titles, then you didn’t win. And you can say ‘It’s not his fault, he’s in a poor team’ THEN LEAVE. If you’re so good and every club would want to sign you, then go leave. RvP did it and now he’s in big boy debates bc he left and won a league. If you don’t leave, it will always be ‘What if’ rather than ‘He did it’
@@daany8700 There are plenty of great footballers who didn't win lots of trophies, and there are a fair few 'average' players such as Darren Fletcher who won lots of trophies due to playing for a team with lots of great players in it. If Messi had played for a poor team who won little to nothing, would you say he wasn't a great? Kevin De Bruyne over Gerrard 7 days a week and twice on a Sunday, at the end he carried Man City consistently after winning 6 premier leagues and a treble🤷
De Bruyne can sit out 3/4 of a season and his team are still title challengers. Gerrard had to be there every game of the season, everything on his shoulders. Pressure on KDB? Surrounded by difference makers all over the pitch.
KDB played the whole szn of 22/23, but the last 3 months of that szn, he was playing w one hamstring n played every game in order for City to win the treble, so there was deffo pressure on KDB and was risking his hamstring too whilst dunking on Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern, Arsenal n more. @@muttz_10He was a difference maker but the whole team also had difference makers. When he was injured Gundogan carried in the earlier years and last 2 years we had other people carry.

The supposedly most overrated player of all time that has been in many PL/UEFA teams of the season and is the only player to have scored a goal in the finals of the CL, the UC/EL, FAC and LC. When asked about him Maradona said at the time that Gerrard was the best player/midfielder in the world. Yeah, Gerrard was definitely overrated. 🤦
The Halaand, Rooney and Van Persie debate is quite easy honestly especially during this time. Start Rooney, Bench Persie and sell Halaand. This is my arguement, ALL Halaand does is score goals and NOTHING else which makes this easy because the other 2 freaks also score goals as well easily AND they offer much more..
@@Dapps07 also gotta look at availability & rvp had a horrible injury record. Haaland not so much. I’d start rooney bench haaland. Rvp for me didn’t do enough in CL & domestically. Here's why Drogba goal scoring record is underrated; 1. He won 2 Golden boots in pl, his peak being 29 goals in 32 apps he didn't take any pens btw 2. He scored 36 goals (2nd high for an English club behind Salah)in the ucl for Chelsea ( 15 of them in the ko - the most for an English club in ucl ko) 3. He scored 65 goals in 105 apps for his country 4. He has 400+ goals in his career 5. Most importantly he scored in FINALS 10 goals in 10 apps for Chelsea in comparison Henry has 0(yes ZERO!) goals In 10+ finals apps lmao
You’re also a Drogba hater for even comparing him with Tevez and Berbatov, what type of idiocy is that?? Typical Arsenal fan still salty he finished your club every time he faced you
Rooney mentioned that it was himself that wanted to play more midfield/10 than striker as it meant he was more involved in the game playing with the ball than just being a striker
For me: 1)Start:Drogba Bench:Tevez Sell:Berba 2)Start: Gerrard Bench: Kdb Sell: Cesc 3)Start: Rooney Bench: Haaland Sell: Rvp. However Haaland can change in a few years. People don’t understand how good striker Rooney was in his young days. Big up the panel but this debate was a wild one. It’s all about difference of options tho.
Wayne Rooney finished 5th in ballon dor in 2011. 2nd most goals in prem history and he isn’t even a striker. . Wayen Rooney was miles better than RVP in 2011
I don't know which season it was, but there was this season when Drogba bullied defenses. As a Liverpool fan I have to admit that he is the one player that felt unstoppable at his peak. But anyways, any sympathy I had for Matisse was gone when he put KDB ahead of Gerrard.
Grizz they disgraced our boy Gerrard. I could actually do a thesis on why Gerrard was >. Longevity; versatility; impact and even from who coaches/players would choose. Don’t worry as we know who the real goat is along with all the legends who’ve validated that. Big up

Take any one player out of any peak Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd PL sides and those clubs would still have won trophies. Take Gerrard out of the Liverpool team during his time at the club and it's quite likely that Liverpool would have won absolutely nothing.
1 prem vs 6! Both have a champions league too🤷🏽♂️
It's easier to look good in a gymn when you are the strongest try looking good at a gymn with military men around you
Bad argument when KDB is still the best out of all those you listed. Shining among brilliant players is a far greater task than shining around dross.

Expected from Arsenal fans
overhyped tbh quality player but its true his not even top 10 lol
@@keransenthidasan2618 he wasn’t better than Tevez
Massively overrated, couldn't win an AFCON with the greatest generation of all time, Ivory Coast did win in it right after he retired though
As a Chelsea fan there's one thing i regret about my club. We never cared about individuals. I remember watching a game and our star players would just control games instead of going for more. Hazard was like that a lot.

The Gerrard disrespect is crazy. Put some respect on the goat
How can he be the goat without a single PL title lol
Slippy G
Needs Atleast 1EPL to be over KDB. Can’t be a goat without one title.
Love Gerrard but he is quickly becoming severely overrated. Football is about winning trophies.....Stevie didnt do enough of that.
He's world class but he's no goat
So using Turkish’s argument on how Berbatov is a better ‘footballer’ than Drogba, I expect him to have hazard over Salah.
Dumb comparison hazard was actually the best player in the league multiple times and clear top5 itw for 3-4 years Salah is more productive hazard is clear when it comes to everything else
@ ur literally proving my point lol.
The fact you guys even compared Drogba to the likes of Tevez and Berbatov is an absolute disgrace. That’s not even a conversation let alone any debate
Tevez couldn't lace his boots.
Drogba scored in over 10 finals & won all of them he is our goat don’t disrespect him like that just because he plays for Chelsea he eats finals for breakfast
I know what my answer is gonna be 3 years time… he didn’t know this was KDB’s last season at the top level 😮
As a United fan when I heard Tobs say Drogba isn’t even top 10 I wanted to slap him 😂 He must’ve been eating crack with his weetabix

Yeah L takes from these lot... i am dropping this channel its just uncomfortable arguements in watch alongs and shocking takes in these types of videos. The fall off is huge tbh.
The narrative on drogbas low scoring seasons is so lazy and proof people didn’t watch games they just look and goals and appearances . Look at his minutes played those seasons how many times he started and how many injuries he had in those seasons. Drogba’s non penalty goals+ assists per 90(recorded until 22/23) was 5th in premier league history
He also didn't take penalties like best scorers and strikers did, that was Lampard but Drogba won so many penalties
G/A stats only is lazy context
@@berny3056 yup people forget Lampard got 10 PL goals in 10 consecutive seasons. A factor on his & drogba relationship plus him taking penalties drogba also won. If he had taken 100% of those penalties when on the field given he racks up more goals imo.
See how Steve waits for his turn instead of interrupting every second like Matice and Toabs. Communication skills are important in life 😂
Drogba is so disrespected man, MAH gotta do a better job standing up for him, tbf he did decent

Nah fuck drogba scoring in big game thing . Just his heading , skill , hold up play , vollying , ball striking alone he’s the Complete striker could make goals on his own. (Liverpool fan ). Him and Torres was the first few strikers to hold their own up front when formations with one striker starters being introduced in prem. has to be drogba starts teves bench berbatov sell

Drogba has more golden boots than tevez and Berbatov
They keep bringing Drogbas goal record compared to the others but his goals per game is the same as Berbatov and Tevez. And his goals were more important, and he has more assists.
It’s Gerard over KDB for me tbh..recency bias putting KDB over Gerard. Just imagine Steven G in KDB’s position playing for Pep..scary

bringing Stevie G slip into discussion for debate is just embarrassing, people really don't realize who Gerrard really was
Saeed always has an agenda against Liverpool players
Actually embarrassing man and the reasons given for Kdb were a team achievement and not individually based on who a manager/person would pick. 99% of managers and football players would pick Gerrard over Kdb
I love Kdb but Gerrard is clear man
He gave it to demba ba 😂😂
Don’t ever disrespect DROGBA
I love these conversations though and how different the opinions are. It shows how football is subjectively appreciated
Thierry Henry is why I came to the game. Steven Gerrard is the reason I'm a Red.
The Gerrard disrespect
Drogba scored in 10 or 11 cup finals man was the ultimate big game player even scored in big games in the premier league
Darren Fletcher picked up a load of PL winner medals, does that mean Fletcher is a PL great but not Gerrard? Only an idiot would say that it does.
You talk about the league (in this case the PL) being the "bread and butter" of a club, but you then go on to say Gerrard should have moved abroad i.e. to a club playing in a league that isn't the PL.
@ When I said the league is bread and butter, I meant any Top 5 league, Serie A, La Liga etc.
As for the whole team game etc. Kane is a PL great but is he in my All Time PL XI or do I consider him greater than Rooney/Aguero/Henry etc…… Fuck No. Maybe if he won some league titles I would but at the end of the day football is about winning.
Again, only an idiot would base an individual's merit largely based on what the team they played for won. If Messi had played for a poor team who won little to nothing, would you say he wasn't a great? According to you, the answer would be yes you would say that, In which case you'd need to give your head a serious wobble.
Shearer won one league title. Is he not a legend? If he is, then Gerrard certainly is given he won two FA cups, three league cups, the CL and the UEFA cup, won both the PFA player and young player of the year awards, was in the PL team if the year eight times, was PFA fans player of the year twice, and also won the FWA footballer if the year award. He is also the only player to have scored in at least one CL, UC/EL, FAC and LC final.
Are you saying that all those opposition/PFA players, PL fans, football writers etc are also wrong in their opinion that Gerrard is a great be it a PL or Cup great? If you are, all I can say is "drugs are bad mkay".
You can tell those people who didn't watch Gerrard in his earlier years, Gerrard was on another level in his 20's.
Gerrard was on another level as soon as he burst onto the scene.
He was the difference maker for the team.
@@muttz_10He was a difference maker but the whole team also had difference makers. When he was injured Gundogan carried in the earlier years and last 2 years we had other people carry.
Yup exactly. If Gerrard wasn’t there that Lfc team would never challenge at all. He played 18 years is every position at a high level. At 34 he was one of the reasons Lfc challenged from a DM position. It’s actually crazy. Kdb at 32 has been finished. Gerrard started at a high level at18 btw while Kdb got into a high level at 26. Gerrards done it double the time too
Wtf… if you take Messi or Ronaldo out of any of those Madrid or Barca teams they are still title contenders too? It doesn’t matter if he’s surrounded by difference makers, KDB is THE difference maker. Smh
