Led Zeppelin is the name of the whole band, which consists of 4 GOATS of each of their crafts, together The GODS Of MUSIC!!! Robert Plant lead singer & harmonica * Jimmy Page lead guitar band founder producer & mixer * John Paul Jones (JPJ) bass guitar keyboards mandolin etc. * John (Bonzo) Bonham greatest drummer ever. These 4 had their first rehearsal on August 19,1968, did a 6 gig tour in Scandinavia, came back & recorded this album in 4 days & about 30 hrs. Got signed to Atlantic Records on November 11,1968, without the record company seeing them perform live. This album was released on January 12,1969, their 2nd album was released in October 1969. The play Rock Blues Funk Folk Reggae Prog etc. their music is still loved by millions over 50 years later. FYI: the songs aren’t all connected, each stands on its own, & every song is amazing. They put their hearts & soulful passion into their music. NO auto tune or voice enhancing, it’s pure raw talent. I highly recommend you checkout each of their albums, the first 4 are easy one two three four. Their live performances are really amazing, check some of them out. The band was together from 1968 to 1980 when their drummer passed away. To bad your choosing to not listen again, you’ll miss out on the greatest band ever.
It's called The Blues! The Blues are almost always over women or money.. The story of men and women throughout history, the blues. Black Americans gave us The Blues, Rock&Roll, Jazz and Hip Hop. Zeppelin music is a tribute to those early years of the blues (since the Civil War) until the 1950's and beyond. Black Entertainers have made us feel good with THEIR MUSIC for 200 years or more. I for one am very greatful for their leadership however, the blues music is what started the modern era of music.
@@RoRo-vr6wx There were so many bands it is impossible to tell who were the Kings. I would lend towards Zeppelin because of their studio work, but groups like the Scorpions were excellent in concert along with Pink Floyd and UFO. The truth is that there was more diverse music at that time than in any period in history. The Beatles opened the door, and the flood gates were open! With groups like the Eagles, Deep Purple, the lost goes on and on and on!

I was 12 years old when my older brother brought home this on an eight track tape. He really only liked Communication Breakdown but I loved the whole album at 12 years old. Six years later I’m 18 going to my first rock ‘n’ roll concert and I’m sitting at the forum seven rows back from the stage, watching Led Zeppelin live. For the second time in my life, Led Zeppelin changed my life.

Fan from the first moment I heard these super band. In1969 I was 17 years and rockandrolled. Still have the vinyl LP's of them. Love the drums/bass/guitar/vocals. Super
He will, might be his first time listening, remember your first time? Long songs are tough to groove with all the way through till you KNOW that ZEP will grab your brain when your body and the music looses the riff and goes elsewhere. Then you go deeper. He’s saying he sees it ! Then again he says he might not come back and listen to them,at the end of the video. So you may be right.
My formative years, had been playing electric guitar for about three years, I was 17. This was a revelation (and revolution for guitar players) in music and a huge influence on me and all of music.
I was 16. This album blew everyone's mind back then. New exceptionally talented bands were popin' up all over the place at that time and they were all different. I am priviledged to have lived through it.
I was actually 7 listengn to this, Cheech and Chong....my uncle would take me on errands and leave me in the 1970 LTD Convertable with the 8 track playing with his favorite music......while he ran into a store then off to the next errand. Gave me a good sense of what was truly amazing at an early age. I'm in my 60s now. Still love the old stuff and new stuff too, like REN and Aurora. There is always amazing creations to find in any era.
In 1969 I was nine years old- little did I know that in 1974 I hear my first Zep tune, ‘The Ocean’ and that was it for me my friend. In 1977 me and three buddies went to the June concert in Tampa, Florida. As we made our way in, we started to go through the passageways out to the open seating at Tampa Stadium and then suddenly the lights went out and we were getting crushed by the huge crowds, surging to avoid a chaotic scene as Zeppelin had to exit the stage due to a huge downpour; that was a bummer. I was able to see the Unleded tour in 1995 at Miami Arena and then saw Jimmy page touring with the Black Crowes who performed at Walnut Creek amphitheater in Raleigh where they played a lot of Zep tunes and it was awesome to see Jimmy at work. 🙌🏼
Liked how the words to the song was there, many times you might get it wrong. GOAT Rock/Blues band. Over 55 years old and NEVER/EVER gets old. Thanks for the reaction vid. A-
I was born the year this was released so very sadly missed seeing Zepp live, however I did get to see Mr Page and Mr Plant on their No Quarter tour in the 90s which was mind-blowing!
In those days of free love, before all the STDs, it was hard to find a women that didn't feel that sleeping around was OK. Too many men, too little time , seemed to be the mindset. Though there were plenty of guys who felt the same way, many of us wanted long term relationships. When you're head -over-heels in love with a woman, and she cheats on you, it literally fells like someone ripped your heart out. Not only did this album connect with many guys in that respect, but you also had the rebelliousness created by Viet Nam lurking in the background. Nobody up until the time of this album, could compare to what they did. This album and Led Zeppelin II, Black Sabbath's first 3 albums and Deep Purple in Rock and Deep Purple Machinehead changed the musical landscape for the next 50 years. Everyone wanted to be like them. Plus, they sound awesome when you're stoned. I was 15 in 1969, and I still listen to this shit to this day, along with music from all the other eras I lived through. It's hard to describe how amazing this music was to someone who's heard it all, like young people today, but believe me, it was totally life-changing. Peace, little bro.
You shook me among others are blues withe rock moments. Each song is different. Every song will take you on a ride you've never been on. Be in the moment, surrender to the experience. Don't over think it your first time...just let it in your soul.🎉😅
Led Zeppelin simply is the ultimate Rock Band, period. They are deeply rooted in the Blues tradition and they had the chops , talent and chemistry to turn everything up to 11. Their beginning dates over 50 years back but they are absolutely timeless. It´s so good seeing young ppl discover the value of real music and skills beyond click tracks and autotune. I grew up with that sh** ;-) Btw, you got 2 check out Jimi Hendrix. He paved the way for guitar playing in Blues/Rock for everyone after him in the early/mid 60s up to 1970 when he died dies being only 27yo...
16 in '69. Saw Zeppelin in Salt Lake City. They were the opening act for Vanilla Fudge - a damned good band, No one knew LZ before that concert, but by the end we sure did. They played for over 4 hours. It was fantastic. The next day I went out and bought this album. I consider it their best and in my top 3 of all time! I have subscribed Sandman! I think you definitely are overthinking this. Many of the songs are from old blues songs by various artist that have been dressed up as only LZ can do it. There is no actual theme to the album. Just enjoy the music for what it is. As to a style, Zeppelin comes in many, many styles or vibes. They are considered one of the founding bands of what became metal. Before them there was no music like this. They set music free. Six months after the release of this album, they were the biggest band oin the world. Outdoing the Beatles and Stones and Elvis(look them up since you likely won't know who they are) and all others. They remaind there until Bonham died in 1980 and then they disbanded because he could not be replaced.
This is just the beginning. If you like this album, their first six albums are all-time classics. The top of their game. Led Zeppelin I (1969, January) Led Zeppelin II (1969, October) Led Zeppelin III (1970, October) Led Zeppelin IV (1971, November) Houses of the Holy (1973, March) Physical Graffiti (1975, February)
@@markrancourt5430 Yep, me too, multiple times over, original UK LPs, German first issue LP of 'Houses of the Holy' with the initials 'RL' (U.S. mastering engineer Robert Ludwig) in the deadwax, first issue CDs (Japan and U.S.) from the early 1980s, deluxe anniversary reissue box sets with rehearsals and alternate takes, and on and on 👍😁
First of all, when the album was released, what you have as disc 1 was the entire album. That second disc is added on later live performances. Second, and more significantly, thank you. I am now in my sixties, and I’ve been a Zeppelin fan since I was about 12-13. As many times as I’ve listened to this album over the years, it never occurred to me to take in the entirety of it looking for the theme. I feel like an idiot, but I think the reality is that you are just very perceptive and insightful. I am seeing this album and Led Zeppelkn in a whole new way thanks to you.
I lived in NYC back in the late 70's and the radio stations in NYC would play led Zeppelin A-Z songs during holiday weekends like the 4th of July. It wasn't only l Led zeppelin but other bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, etc. The local radio stations don't do this anymore though.
A few of their songs, I hear them trying REALLY hard. But just like all imposters (remember Kingdom Come?), they just ain't got anything close to what these guys accomplished.
1969 was 17. My buddy and friends were ridin around drinking and smoking... be says check these guys out and pops an 8track in. I look at it, it`s LZ1. So we listen to it and I like 2 songs right away... GTBT and D&C. So like after hearing it 4-5 times my buddy is like I`m gunna score tickets, their coming to Winterland (SF) cost 5 bucks, well hell yah! So we go and what I remember most is it was like EACH guy was a solo blended together... AWESOME wall of music right to your soul! Jimmy, skinny and just shredding away.... Bonham, looked like a linebacker pounding the skins,,,, Plant with amazing range and depth vocals.... then Jones kickin it, relaxed and steady play... putting his cig between the adjust screws and strings so chill! In concert they go OFF! Pages solos piecing right thru you, Jones thumping your body, Plant voice so clear and bold... then Bonham keeping the beat.... just AWESOME. The next year went and saw them again... SF at Winterland. Then last time at Oakland ballpark Day on the Green `77. The golden age of ROCK! It`s nice to see young people "discover" the GOAT of all time, LZ.
22 in 1969……..This album blew everyone’s minds when it came out……this was some of the hardest music we’d heard up to that point and was at the leading edge of what would become hard rock into metal.
I was 13 in ‘69. What other group could have appealed to both of us almost ten years apart in the same way? Only one..THE BEATLES…liked all of their music but this was CHILLING! Still get goosebumps listening to this today,Beatles not so much.

agree, in concert your ears bleed yet so CLEAR, not fuzzy a wall of music.
Work on that attention span brother. "Okay I get it", you ain't getting it. Your hearing but not listening.
Theres a group called Ten Years After, the song is Im Going Home. The Woodstock recording is best.
"That's close enough for jazz..."
Arguably the Greatest Debut Record Ever Recorded.
Greatest band in history!! Do more since i subbed!
Watch their live performances!!! You haven't heard anything yet!!
15 years old and I bought this record when it was released and I still listen to it
U just BLEW IT WITH THE BEST PART OF YOU SHOOK ME !!!!WATS UP WITH THAT BRO!!!
NEVER DISSS LED ZEPPELIN! IM OUT
Sometimes, to get rid of the blues, you've got to listen to the blues.
Kid is rocking out the way l was back in the day 😂😂 Awesome
Damn dude, you just skipped the song out of nowhere.
Today's young generations don't have patients. They want it now. They want instant satisfaction instead of enjoyin the ride.
*patience
Liked how the words to the song was there, many times you might get it wrong. GOAT Rock/Blues band.
Over 55 years old and NEVER/EVER gets old. Thanks for the reaction vid. A-
I was born the year this was released so very sadly missed seeing Zepp live, however I did get to see Mr Page and Mr Plant on their No Quarter tour in the 90s which was mind-blowing!
Much wisdom in old Rock songs😂
yes now the whole discography please 😃😃😃
Led Zeppelin’s first LP is my personal favorite. It leaks blues.
The first two were good, but 3 and 4 were better and they went downhill with everything after "Physical Graffiti".
How old do you have to be to enjoy the best rock music. Even today no band can touch those songs. Led Zeppelin will always be the GOATS.
This was the start of a deep rabbit hole that will change you for the better.
Arguably the greatest rock & roll bands ever. Wait till you see some of their live stuff
Jimmy Paige uses a violin bow on his guitar for special sounds.
You shook me among others are blues withe rock moments. Each song is different. Every song will take you on a ride you've never been on. Be in the moment, surrender to the experience. Don't over think it your first time...just let it in your soul.🎉😅
I was 11 and I have been a Zepp fan ever since hearing this album in 69 and I'm still am today,
I was 12 years old in 1970 when I listened to my 1st LZ album which was #2. Hooked ever since.
14 in 69, WHICH MAKES ME 69 NOW. OOW WEE..!!!
I grew up with that sh** ;-)
Btw, you got 2 check out Jimi Hendrix. He paved the way for guitar playing in Blues/Rock for everyone after him in the early/mid 60s up to 1970 when he died dies being only 27yo...
12 , it was a great time to grow up
I was 19 just out of high school at the time. This album was a life changer for the to be 70’s music lovers!!
Led Zeppelin I (1969, January)
Led Zeppelin II (1969, October)
Led Zeppelin III (1970, October)
Led Zeppelin IV (1971, November)
Houses of the Holy (1973, March)
Physical Graffiti (1975, February)
And i own every one on that list 🙂
@@markrancourt5430 Yep, me too, multiple times over, original UK LPs, German first issue LP of 'Houses of the Holy' with the initials 'RL' (U.S. mastering engineer Robert Ludwig) in the deadwax, first issue CDs (Japan and U.S.) from the early 1980s, deluxe anniversary reissue box sets with rehearsals and alternate takes, and on and on 👍😁
In 1969 I was 11 years old, my sister recordet the album on tape, she played it a lot, ...... I loved it
I was 11. I heard their album right away. The real shit, and always will be. I saw them three times.
I was 15 in 1969. This album as a game changer in the UK.
I was 4 in 1969. Iwas a Beattles, Elvis Presley and Clasical music fan. My dad's 2001: A Space Odyssey album turn me onto classical music.
No, you don’t get it
The GOATS OF GOATS! It’s not a guy it’s a Band! OK😂
Just wait until he gets around to Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull. lol "Oh by the way, which one's Pink?"
I lived in NYC back in the late 70's and the radio stations in NYC would play led Zeppelin A-Z songs during holiday weekends like the 4th of July. It wasn't only l
Led zeppelin but other bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, etc. The local radio stations don't do this anymore though.
I was 16 when this album came out and I wore it out loistening to it.
And Greta Van Fleet sounds absolutely NOTHING like these guys.
A few of their songs, I hear them trying REALLY hard.
But just like all imposters (remember Kingdom Come?), they just ain't got anything close to what these guys accomplished.
1n 1970 I discovered LZ and Marijuana. That was that. What a decade of magical music.
I was 16 and I saw Zep summer of 1969.. Was my second concert!!
1969 was 17. My buddy and friends were ridin around drinking and smoking... be says check these guys out and pops
an 8track in. I look at it, it`s LZ1. So we listen to it and I like 2 songs right away... GTBT and D&C. So like after hearing it
4-5 times my buddy is like I`m gunna score tickets, their coming to Winterland (SF) cost 5 bucks, well hell yah! So we go
and what I remember most is it was like EACH guy was a solo blended together... AWESOME wall of music right to your
soul! Jimmy, skinny and just shredding away.... Bonham, looked like a linebacker pounding the skins,,,, Plant with amazing
range and depth vocals.... then Jones kickin it, relaxed and steady play... putting his cig between the adjust screws and
strings so chill! In concert they go OFF! Pages solos piecing right thru you, Jones thumping your body, Plant voice so clear
and bold... then Bonham keeping the beat.... just AWESOME. The next year went and saw them again... SF at Winterland.
Then last time at Oakland ballpark Day on the Green `77. The golden age of ROCK! It`s nice to see young people "discover"
the GOAT of all time, LZ.
1969 I was 16❤
22 in 1969……..This album blew everyone’s minds when it came out……this was some of the hardest music we’d heard up to that point and was at the leading edge of what would become hard rock into metal.
I was 13 in ‘69. What other group could have appealed to both of us almost ten years apart in the same way? Only one..THE BEATLES…liked all of their music but this was CHILLING! Still get goosebumps listening to this today,Beatles not so much.
