You sure have come an exceptionally long way, Kyle. Lots of savvy shrimp knowledge gained and shared, plus lots of pounds lost. I truly admire your determination when you strongly believe in something. Oh. And shout out to Amber for letting you play with your toys lol.
That's an AWESOME setup brother..Saw my Java Moss lid in the video, hope that's growing well for ya..Keep Crushing It!! Stay HUMBLE. Stay HUNGRY, Stay FOCUSED...~The Jarhead Entrepreneur
go team caridina! great video update, love the sandals in the reflection. I love how many breeding projects you have and some really high end shrimp in there. Those black devils look way nicer than my orange eye royal blue tigers. The PRL looked really great, do they have solid white shells for the adults and all their offsprings? keep up the great work! can't wait for the next video!
Thanks Ray! I hate showing off my feet on camera 😂 the reflections got me though! The black devils are really nice! They look similar to my royal blues but they seem to have more of a subtle stripe pattern on them like a Taiwan bee. My PRL is still a young colony so haven’t done much color observation or culling just yet. I have noticed some 3 stripe offspring in there that need to come out but as far as the colors go they are pretty solid. Haven’t seen any thin or translucent shells
Looks great! How do you like the poly lids, think I may make some this weekend. Grant gave me assignment those new shrimp I got with a LOT of culling can be red devil orange eyes.
Nice! That will be a good lookin shrimp. I like the two ply with the dividers but the single sheet of plexiglass is warps after awhile. Not too bad, but annoying to have to flip them every week or so
Wasn’t too hard to make! I used plastic cross stitch material and tied it into the shape I wanted and then tied the moss on. I have a short video of making a few different moss pieces here. ruclips.net/video/DkJjQExaLuM/видео.html
@PoseidonsPets Hi nice shrimp room! I see you have crystal red and black shrimp in the same tank. What happens when they crossbreed (red and black i mean) I keep mine separate but maybe it is not necessary?
Crystal reds and crystal blacks will produce either crystal black or crystal red babies. The red is a recessive trait so you may see more black than red. There are breeds of crystal that are considered pure, pure red line or pure black line will produce pure offspring.
Question: How do you know if a shrimp has died in the tank? I'm interested in breeding my own shrimp, but am worried about what might happen if a shrimp dies and its body starts decaying in the tank. Especially with so many shrimp in the tank, I do not want shrimp carcasses to accumulate in the tank. Also, how do you cull your shrimp? Please let me know & thank you! Great video.
Because of my experiments I do on my tanks I check for deaths twice a day. Im always monitoring different actions and how that affects the shrimp. In a healthy largely stocked tank the shrimp will eat a dead shrimp within an hour or so. So you won’t have to worry too much. I’ve found the best way to cull is to feed the tank right up from where you can see them and use a flashlight to check patterns and colors. I then drip acclimate the culls into a cull tank where they get to spend the rest of their lives Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 🤗
Thanks! It’s been fun getting everything going and where I want it. Crystal blacks are very hardy. They are a little more forgiving with PH compared to other caridina. Consistency is the key with most shrimp, get on a feeding and water change schedule that works for you and stick to it. This allows for them to thrive and grow.

Thank you sir! Yes! She is a big supporter of all this lol
Your room is coming along really nicely Kyle 👍

Thank you! It’s been a fun build to work on
Envious and proud of ya buddy. The room is looking awesome. You deserve credit for how far you're coming along.
Thanks Jamie! I appreciate the kind words! It’s been a fun and stressful struggle but I’ve learned a lot and know it’s only up from here
Looks like your shrimp room is settling in nicely after the big move!
It is! It’s starting to bounce back from the chaos of setup. Feeling like the tanks are maturing and starting to produce
Just found your channel! You've got some awesome stuff!
Thanks!
Thank you!

Thank you 😊
Nice 😊
Thanks!
nice tanks, new sub!
Thanks! Glad you like it 😊
What size are the tanks on the big rack? 5 gal as well?
10 gals 😊
Wht type of soil you use?
I’ve used ADA, brightwell, and recently started using akadama soil. Brightwell has been my most successful so far
How did you make those shrimp moss huts

What came out of the red calceo/dragon blood cross breeding project?
Black calceos 😂 they were boring looking

@@PoseidonsPets I have a tank with crystal blacks only, one of them is carrying eggs. If i understand correct these will be red and black babies?

Awesome video mate, wish I had a room like you!
Any tips for keeping crystal black shrimp?

@@PoseidonsPets I have only had success with caridina shrimp but I never had crystals, thanks for the tip!
Do you use akadama? How long does it last?
I just started using akadama but some have said 8 months to a year 🤷♂️😂
Hope to see what the orange eye black devil and dragonblood breeding project ends up with
Me too! Curious to see what comes out of it
