I watched all your videos about job interviews, in addition to learning English, I also learned a better posture for an interview, in my interview they asked some questions similar to the one in the video. I'm Brazilian and I applied for a position as an engineer who needs to speak English. I did really well and got the job. Thank you very much, Rachel!

Last week, I was approved in yet another hiring process and, again, I revisited this video to prepare for the interviews. It worked again!
I see this video as a classic of essential videos for anyone who wants to be approved in a hiring process. It's just amazing how this works!!

      I have some questions:
      1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
      2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
      3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies
      4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years*
*Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*.

Love you Rach I’m Japanese and living in Japan
Japanese job interview is so formal
Not a small joke needs tense but according to what kind of job you want, if you want part time job like a convenience store’s register track drivers assistant that’s a not formal
    But you want Regular employment
You have to sit down straight on chair
Hands on your lap just like that totally literally speaks normal tone 😂

    Hello Marion Castro,
This is Jay, a Bagladeshi-Canadian. How is it going? Your English sounds pretty good. Anyway, I am going to point out that your sentences seem to lack structure (quality). Here are some rewritten sentences: The 1st one you could have said like this ---- " Sometimes, I struggle to structure sentences ", or " Sometimes, I find it difficult to construct sentences on my own ". The 2nd one ---- '' The examples you have used within the contexts here are very good ''. The 3rd one ---- " I have realized that a clear and concise answer sounds way better than just speaking in the wrong order ". The 4th one ---- " Hope to ace my next interview " or " hope to nail it for my next interview ". Thank you. Wish you all the best!

Thank you again Rachael ! Interviews are always a challenge. I have often contemplated how I should behave while being interviewed. It seems that the most successful interview experiences for myself have been ones where I remained relaxed but alert, and most important, just be myself . If you are acting, it will tell on you and be unfavorable. The person you are talking to is not God, just another person. Keep that in mind during the interview process. Always be respectful and honest. I always enjoy listening to you Rachel no matter what you talk about because your diction is near perfect.

    Today I started with
    - hello?
    - yes, hello, how are you, name?
    - Good, thank you, how about you, how's your day?
    - I'm great, really excited because today's meal is hot dogs, and I haven't had them in a while.
    - /a genuine laugh/ oh that's great.
When she asked me about MY DAY (and not me), I blanked out and could only respond honestly. I think it really helped to relax the tone of the conversation, making it feel more like a chat between colleagues than an interview.

I am a resident of Florida and I work as a seamstress despite having finished my university studies in Cuba, I have not yet gotten a job due to my lack of fluency in communicating, due to the panic I had from my 1st interview to work at Michaels. Thank you for your video, as you say, I have already identified my weaknesses, now I have to overcome them. I made screenshots of your advice and now I'm going to copy everything and review

I found your video about the interviews very interesting. I went step by step and did almost everything that the interviewer asked for, but there are managers who believe that Uni is going for his position. They don't know that people want to grow in the best way, but anyway, you If you have talent, I'm glad to see your video, it was inspirational, although I didn't achieve it, but you're right in your video, success, keep going.

I am a student at high school in Algeria and I am a very good student so next year will be my baccalaureate exam so in this year I have to choose a University major so in fact I want to be a doctor and I want to continue my studies in USA so please I want some information if you can I really need your help
...Is it expensive and how much it costs?
Can I work and study at the same time ?
Is there some jobs that may help to pay the university ?
    I am waiting your answer
    Thank you 💖

Hi! I wish I had the answers to these questions, but to be honest I think that the answers will be different depending on the University you are hoping to attend. I suggest looking at schools you would be interested in attending, and then reaching out to the admissions department of each school with these questions. They will be able to give you specific answers and help you make a plan! Best of luck with your studies!! :)

    Hi Rachel,
I would like to thank you for this video you had made. This is very helpful to me and I've learned so many common answers from you for the common questions coming from the interviewer. I loved to repeat your video again and again not just to memorize the lines or word for word it was just because I loved how you stood out in front of the interviewer, however, you had shown many brilliant answers to those questions that I was amazed at. I wish I had confidence in speaking in English, however, I'm not good at English grammar, but then, I still, kept studying.

    Hey, Rachel!
This video was really out of the box. I didn't expect you to come with the 'INTERVIEW' series. Let me clue you in, Rachel!. You justified this video by bringing some cool interview tips and many interesting idioms and phrases that caught my eye. I acknowledge! How well have you used these words, such as PERSEVERE, DEMEANOUR, CHOCOLATE, CRITIQUE?!. I adore the way you explain, the correct sitting posture. There are still many things to incorporate. I like the interviewer's demeanor and his sets of questions too. Perhaps, your performance, I would highly appreciate and last but not least, that last question you asked ( IMAGINE.. ) was a really good one. I think this interview will help me to increase my probability of hearing these two words 'YOU'RE HIRED', whenever I'll go for an interview.
I have a question for you, Rachel! Sometimes you pronounce T in INTERVIEW, you drop it as well. Make the cat out of this question box, Rachel!
Finally, excited about your Tuesday video!.

This is a top-notch video about the typical English interview!😎👍 I wonder if they read a script or not, but even if they had done it, it's very smoothly delivered and the connective speech between them was not a problem at all.
Interestingly enough, we can bump into the questions they used in my country, Korea. In the last few months, I joined several face-to-face job interviews and they were not much different from one another. Very well done.!

JA the Best, hi. I am a Bangladeshi Canadian. You speak English well; however, you still need to polish up your English a bit. First off, 'connective ' is a noun', not adjective. You could have said here ' connecting speeches ' instead. The phrase ' bump into ' can be used only with a person not with a thing. Exp. Yesterday, I bumped into an old friend of mine. You don't say ' join job interviews '. You can say ' join the debate ', join the coversation, join the line, join a campaign and the like. You could have said, ' I had several face-to-face interviews, or I had several interviews in person. Good luck !

Great video Rachel! I learned so many ways to approach those answers.
Sometimes, I struggle with the structure of my sentences, and you showed us very effective examples here to use in this very formal situations. I've also realized that an short and accurate answer sounds way too better that just speak with no clear order. Good Job!
Hope to nail it in my next job interview. Thanks!!!

    Hi Rachel, how are you.
Thank you for sharing your invaluable knowledge with us.
Thank you for sharing these great job interview tips. This video is going to help a lot of people including native speakers.
    Your videos are just perfect.
P.s I heard that you used the prhase "a little bit", I had heard some natives that this is wrong, since "little" and "bit" means the same thing and it sounds like repetition.
I like to use it "a little bit". It sounds fun but some times I feel a little bit uncomfortable thinking if it is correct to use it or not, but if you use it here on a job interview, I know it is correct.😊
