Dude, you worked a blinder getting the drone back up and running. Very well done matey. Hopefully DJI will fix the gimbal for much cheapmness. Usually, if I want to dry stuff off quickly just chuck it in a bag with a lot of cat litter. It is very ansorbent and much quicker than rice. We used to dump wet electronics ina bath of distilled water and let them dry off. I still have 4ltrs of 100% Isopropyl alcohol handy, its only about £15 on ebay. Good to see your drone up and running again. It is what it is!
I think I was just lucky! But the gimbal still needs fixing but that's not the end of the world! I just looked at your channel I love the Stars and Strips flag case you made to hide the guns! I've subscribed to your channel best of luck with it 👍
Cheer mate 👍It's all my own fault lol but I knew the risks and got it wrong 😵💫 I'm not looking forward to the repair bill ☹. Good luck with your channel 👍
You get a Sub from me just on account of that accent alone 😄 I heard incidents of earlier Mavics having problems with it's obstacle avoidance OA due to sun glare but those were cases where the drone mistook the sun as an 'obstacle', consequently the OA kicks in to stop the drone mid-flight. It is equally plausible that your mishap occurred because OA is notoriously unreliable at detecting small, thin obstacles such as overheard wires, blades of grass or small tree branches. I think that the more likely culprit here is not sun glare, but a small branch which swatted your drone. For sure, OA is not foolproof and mostly I fly with OA disabled, preferring instead to rely on my situational awareness of my surroundings. With OA disabled, I also find that the drone respond with certainty to my stick inputs, whereas there are times when OA can make the drone fly in unpredictable ways as the onboard collision systems override your stick inputs. All things being equal, you should also see a small increase in battery flightime with OA disabled.
Thanks for the Sub and the accent comment did make me laugh 🤣 Funny thing is I have loads of problems talking on camera because I'm deaf in one ear and severe to profound in the other so my talking can be a little dodgy. I can't understand what I'm saying myself sometimes😆 I think you're correct when you say about the obstacle avoidance not detecting small tree branches and other such things. I think people "me included" get way too confident and put too much trust in the technology and that in the end leads to crashes. I did have a clear line of sight of the drone and it wasn't far away but I got caught out by the perspective and depth so again it was user error and me pushing my luck a little to far lol
@@mkskyshot I was merely teasing about your accent 😄 I used to live abroad and interacted often with British nationals from all parts of the UK that I have no problem understanding the various British accents and colloquialism. Glad you got your drone working again although the damaged gimbal is a bummer. Unfortunately, a finely tuned part like that will need the services of DJI itself to rectify. You bring up a good point about depth perception during VLOS (Visual Line of Sight). I find that depth perception is often deceptive and hard to judge during VLOS and virtually non-existent beyond a few hundred feet. Hence RC planes being mostly flown over wide open areas devoid of obstructions. By comparison, drones are probably better than your typical RC plane with obstacles due to its onboard camera and telemetry feed. I rely on a combination of onboard camera/telemetry with VLOS. Beyond a few hundred feet, I tend to lean more towards telemetry while keeping a wide scan of the airspace and topography surrounding the drone for potential hazards.
Nice to meet you. A friend. After a crash, you need to know the condition of the drone or it well, so that it is easy to cope and solve. Very nicely solved. I look forward to the next great video.
There's nothing like looking on the bright side of a bad situation and you have done that , many would say it's not your fault , but it is completely lol 😆 , 💯% . Good on you for laughing it off . Shit happens . If I'm honest the air 2 sensors are not as good as the air 1 , I would have expected the sensors to pick that up , I was once out 1000feet over a lake with the air 1 and I did exactly what you did , but it saw the tree 🌲 , I herd the sensors go and thought oh shit " then just went forward , I was lucky but the air 1 has been so reliable , I think the air 2 is great but it's a Airbus A380 , not for low flying shots. Don't thank me you're welcome lol 😆👍
Mr Red, you're not holding back mate! just saying how it is eh! 🤣But yes 💯 my fault 😉 No point in crying about it, it is what it is. I think it's like most things in life, if you don't f@/k up you don't learn... It's just an expensive lesson I don't want to repeat again anytime soon. I'll continue to fly low tho as what's the point in having a camera that can go everywhere and then going nowhere with it! Anyway should I crash again it'll give everyone a good laugh 🤣
I crashed my Air 2s into a tree it has been hanging in it for nearly a week we have had heavy rain and hot days the gimbal is broken and full of water I put a new battery in it and it still flew but the higher I flew it it started to drift away from me I just used my care refresh to get a replacement drone.
Tuyệt vời 🎄🎄🇻🇳🤩
Oh Nooo.. Thanks for sharing. 🤗✌️😔
I was a bit gutted Eddy but I think i've now completely fixed the drone!
Lk12 good tips on how to fix drone nice vlog dear frienddd good sharing

I just had a crash with a tree branch, guess where I ended up..the river. Thanks for a very explanatory video. Wish me luck🤞
Hey, did it work? Crashed mine yesterday in a lake, waiting to dry it completely 🤞
Wow, I'm impressed you got her back in the air!

What a journey. Fun video to watch. Thanks for posting!
Very nice Video my friend, big like, notifications are on 👍✌️
Thanks Nykesname 👍
This movie is a crack up ! 😂 I am so glad it worked out except for the gimbal😕 I don't mind that you need a shave lol😄 like 28 !
You are funny as hell. I just did the same thing and I'm unsure about the future of the bloody bugger.
Great job getting it to fly again after the crash! 👍👍
Thanks, I think I've had a lucky escape but now I just need to get the gimbal sorted out.
😭bad luck, ❤the video, hope you get flying soon with a replacement

Great video with great advice, always fly above the trees and any building
Cheers Alan, Know we should always fly above things but somethings I like to try to get new footage from low down! But this time it didn't pay off 😂

Good news that it still flies 🙂
Let me know how your drone repair goes, I'm just at Neitherfield, get in contact and we're meet up
Ooops 🥶 What a pity 😳
Well, It did give me a video idea for my channel lol 🤣
Bad luck man, better off sending it to DJI, they will have it fixed quickly
DJI will no doubt do a great job and charge me an arm and a leg for the pleasure lol But at least they will do a job.
