In my opinion, this is the best introduction in an NBA video game. I love the song so much, I wish it was on Spotify so I can listen to it so many times. Unfortunately, it isn't. I played this so much when I was younger. Well, then there's NBA Live 07. I played that so much too. But I'm going with this one all day long.
When I fell in love with basketball. I was introduced at the age of 13. I was 6 feet. I never did mature into much of a player but I remained a love of the game.
NBA has changed a lot since then. This was when the defense was probably the best ever, albeit due to players performing a lot of isolation with little spacing and ball movement.
0:17 That's Kevin Frazier, the current host of Entertainment Tonight who used to talk in the background for the ESPN ID. Like it came from ESPN NBA Basketball 2K4 right before the intro had started as possible.
yo this is so funny i found when watching this intro michael jordan is in 2 different places in this intro, the beginning and when he gets the ball stolen from
Man, which 2K was it that had the lyrics... "You were a lost soldier Shen I hit you with the cross over I hit the basline..." And it had something like this in the middle "On a solo fast break I might bust a 360" It's been drivin' me nuts that I can't remember.
Lebron was so hyped out of high school, he made it in this intro. Great game.

@@RawDawg903 bruh that intro was garbo they barely showed any clear highlights, the regular 2k2 intro was way better
lil fun fact. 2K reused a couple of these clips for future 2K games on the ps2, even up through 2K12 lmao
Whose here after Kobe passed. This was the best 2k intro they ever made. So many memories with this one. RIP #KobeBryant #8 #24
I remember Kobe being impossible to beat at the end of a game

01:17 Young LeBron, before he became THE MAN
I loved this game, but after playing the newer games, it was rough playing this one again
Live was much smoother than this game because of their engine and especially the trick stick.
1:03 that was a nasty play!!
Because Iverson was the best during those times you mentioned
old days
I would KILL to get the soundtrack to this game.
This game heat and greatest all time
it's jay rich. he did mad songs for the 2k sound tracks

The two years that ESPN worked with 2k were the greatest 2 years in sports gaming history.

That's not it. The beat was different. It was more uptempo than respect the game. The guy rapping sounded a little like a young Ghostface Killah.
