I usually just flip my head upside down:
    -put some product in
-braid it off the front/top of my head
and then halfway through I feed in some strips of fabric in (make sure the strips go past the length of your hair)
So instead of putting a hair tie an inch before the ends of your hair, you’re braiding and securing the ends of the fabric so there’s no straight/kinked ends from the hair tie... and also this helps keep the waves the same size instead of them gradually getting smaller down the length of the hair cause the hair gets thinner towards the ends whether there’s layers or breakage. ☺️ just what I’ve been doing a while 😁 it helps!

    • @Aubjordan
      @Aubjordan 4 года назад +38

I used to have the same kind of hair and hair problems basically all my life! and I can tell you using the curly girl method for styling hair after it’s out of the shower is a game changer. I don’t necessarily use all the CGM product rules (I definitely use shampoo) but it’s the techniques you use for your hair at the very end and immediately after washing your hair that make all the difference to making your hair curly and nice not a puffy mess like mine used to be! Watch all the yt videos on curly girl routines and experiment for a long time. It takes a long time to figure out what works but I eventually did and never knew it was possible for my natural hair to look decent :)

That was literally me b4 today
Use the curly girl method IT WORKS SO WELL
istg I totally understand what ur talking about
Basically make sure your shampoo doesn’t have any surfaces or drying alcohol
Also try deep conditioning your hair
Then afterwards just dry your hair with a cotton T-shirt only slightly so that it’s not dripping
Then add coconut oil and Argan oil to your hair while it’s still REALLY wet
Then add some leave in conditioner
Then just keep your hair in the T-shirt (put the collar around your hairline and twist it and tuck it in the back near your neck)
After about 15 mins take it out and let it air dry and it your hair all over will look like how the hair at the last layer looks rn
Please try it bc it works soooo welllll
I just did it today and and it works wondersss

Great video - thanks for sharing these techniques! The second one took me back to my teenage years when perms were all the rage. My mum wouldn't let me have a perm because I was too young but I wanted curly hair so I used to braid my hair every night and comb it out in morning. And while it seems a lot to say I did 20-25 braids before I went to bed each night, I got pretty fast at it and could do it in no time. By the time I got up in the morning my hair was dry and I had lovely curly hair. Even the ends were curly as I would wrap those around pipe cleaners. The things we girls do to look fashionable eh?! :)

Here’s my extensive list of what I use to air dry my hair…
Step 1: expose wet hair to air
Step 2: maybe comb it, maybe throw it in a bun, maybe scrunch using hands and air
Step 3: leave exposed to air until dry
Step 4: BLAM!!! Air dried hair… in whatever form IT decides to take 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @maritje4225

      Yes:
      1. rub that towel on my scalp ignoring everything about that being bad
      2. Make a nice turban (again ignoring anything saying that that’s bad)
      3. keeping it like that until i brush my teeth and it’s time to get dressed
      4. unwrap hair, try something that’s supposed to be scrunching
      5. Admire the waviness, put on a T-shirt, watch the waves disappear slightly
      6. let it actually air dry
      7. And brush when it’s dry bc if I brush when it’s wet any natural waves will leave me 😂
And my hair is thin af so if I even just think of putting any product in my hair it loses its will to live and will just be completely flat... 🤣

  • @AsjJohnson127
    @AsjJohnson127 3 года назад +4

I've been mixing a little leave-in conditioner with a strong gel in my palm, and fingering it through my hair. If it's really dripping, I'll sometimes pat the ends with a microfiber towel. Then I lean back in a chair for ten minutes. That's it. (The conditioner thins out the gel for a more even coverage. Without a cream type conditioner mixed in, half my hair will dry frizzy, and half will be hard and look wet.)
My hair can form ringlets if I coat each strand separately while they're soaking wet and if they're separated enough not to touch other locks. But otherwise (because I'd gotten tired of spending so much time on it and now I just finger it through without separating), my hair usually dries in a weird back and forth pattern. Mostly. Sometimes I can find three or four different curl patterns on the same lock of hair, because my hair is crazy.
haha, at 11:54 that's pretty much how my hair looked when I used to try getting it as straight as possible by brushing it while wet. I'm surprised by how frizzy it looks, even with 'no frizz'. I think it looks nice with the second product in, though.
I might change my mind. The second method's finish might look more like me with straight hair. Yeah, that resembles the "poofy" and "afro" I was made fun of for during my teen years. Pin-straight hair was in at the time (if only I had been born in the 70's instead of the 80's). And though someone had once given me a flat iron as a gift, it took way too much time and effort just to do my bangs. Plus my hair's too dry for that much heat.
19:41 it's Rey! From Star Wars. The finished look is nice on that last one. I like it. The bun thing worked out really nice.

However I still have fall out even after taking care of my hair I've switched brushes multiple times I use conditioner in the shower then detangle with wide tooth comb. Any suggestions?

Oh, sorry, I didn't see this. The brand is Wellaflex, bought it from Carrefour. I practically use every day and made me fall in love with my natural waves, but I recommend using it moderately, otherwise the hair looks kinda stiff lol

Can’t wait to try the last technique. Also…. using the clips for volume?!? Dead. Such a good idea. THANK YOU BRAD 🙏

I have gotten to where I hate the feeling of anything in my hair, and it looks like garbage whether I style it or don't. Either way, after 3 hours, it looks messy, damaged and like I have never touched a brush.
Which angers me, because I have barely used heat styling for 6 years, almost all natural color grown out, and I do all the things they say.
My hair was better when I abused it 😂

When I 1-5 I had what my mom called “paper hair.” Thin af and straight even with styling. She has 3B type hair. My hair over the years has turned into 2A and my mom LOVES styling my hair because she says her hair is “untamable.”
Always been my mom’s little babydoll. I went to elementary with pinups and advanced braid ponytails because of her just having fun with my hair.
I was never “forced” by my mom. I asked every morning so I could see my mom’s “funny face,” whenever she is focused she sticks her tongue out and randomly scrunches her nose. I would watch her work so hard on my hair and see her smile, that was the highlight of my day.
Baths were hard because I never wanted to take my hair down. I spent all day showing off my hair and you want me to destroy it with water?! My tiny child body fought the best I could against my mom. She learned to wrap me in a towel tightly so I couldn’t lift my arms.
