This is a very helpful video. Thank you for posting. I will definitely reference this as I skin my first raccoon today. It’s a small one, caught in a dp trap, so mostly I’ll just be practicing. Still, great to have your video for reference. I noticed that you haven’t put new content up for a while. Hoping all is well and that you will continue to upload more excellent content. tsl
@@outdoorsman_survivalist817 sorry bud but it really is not the same concept. The purpose of the money cut is to add length to the hide since you are paid on hide size. To properly do the money cut you turn the legs slightly and cut over top of the knees and down along moving some belly fur onto the back. Cutting around the vent has nothing to do with the money cut. The old joke is ladies don't like buttholes on their jackets but they never mind them paying for it.
Nice job Buddy !!! Thanks for sharing 👍

Another amazing video! Your so good at explaining things clearly! Thanks for posting!

This might help a lot with cold critters and no skinning machine:

What you refer to as the money cut is not actually the money cut.
Have a look here for the real money cut:

The concept is exactly the same

That is not the correct money cut. The correct money cut is a straight line from heel to heel staying 1 1/2 to 2 inches below the vent.
