Great video great set. Thanks
Hey man I’m from Florida do you guys still take in fur please let me know thank you ?
love the channel, thanks for the info. keep it up.
Thanks for the upload!! Yes, raccoons, possum and skunks are scavengers, they are definitely not picky!! We use a mixture of corn & cat food and scent the area with fish oil. Works every time. Stay safe my friend!
I learned some peoples definition of BIG MONEY $$$ and others vary greatly!
That's what I'm saying. 😂
Are they cat proof ?
I noticed your Courtland Waste Handling stocking cap on in previous videos you made. I’m from Nicollet , are you from the area? I enjoy your videos. I’m into snaring coyotes mostly
Great tip..Will give this a try ! Thanks
NEW TO SKINNING!! Do you have to board the hide or is it for the inspecter to get better detail???
As you say, no reason to add any blocking. The ratio for direction the catch is made runs right at 50/50. When they smell another beaver, i.e. castor, they are on high alert as they might get into a fight. Since their eyesight is so poor they are very wary. That said, they often don't like a tight spot if they think they might get ambushed by another beaver. So they go around, mark over the castor, then satisfied all is well will turn and take the easiest, shortest route to the big water, which is right into the trap. Castor sets are like a beaver magnet, as they run very hight percentages. Can't beat the Lefler frames. Makes setting a breeze and keeps the trap off the bottom.
If you've got all those sticks through the springs of the 330, what the point of the H-stand ??
what type of welder is this TIG or Stick?
You have reserved your seat in hell☠️
Hay se fue media cola por tanto tallo'n.
Dont ever come on my land EVER
You don’t have any land
Why are you not making videos anymore
Why are you not making videos anymore
thanks for this informitive video
Accidentally cutting the musk gland on a mink is a smell that you absolutely never forget. I can still smell it 50 years later lol.😂
Hey I know this is two years old but I’m sure you’re still catching critters. Anyway thanks for the tip inside the trap. I used what aircraft electricians call heat shrink. I layered it a couple of times to thicken it. Thanks again
Oh and y’all can get some at harbor freight.
Just watched all 4 videos. Please do not ever take these videos down!! You are literally the only person on youtube who has videos explaining how to do this. Thank you for taking time to make these videos, I plan to get into trapping this year and will be referring back all 4 vids. Thanks again!!
Good idea!
Ack, it's illegal to directly disturb huts in my state
great catch on that beaver
#11 longspring is my favorite trap, although 1.5 coil spring seems to be the preferred trap among most die-hard mink trappers.
Great set! I personally place the dog at the 3 o' clock position, with pan centered on top edge of pocket and jaws nearly touching both sides. That way the animal steps between, and not over, the trap's jaws. When coon are thick, I'll place trap deeper in pocket; this prevents catching coon, but nothing is 100%. If I spoke "Mink," I think all would say "muskrat" is their favorite meal. Thanks.
Nice videos man!
Now what? how do you flip it right side out?
I thought this too. how is it used after this point if its so hard and inflexible?
@@mpkid5 You leave it as it is. Most people pass a hanger wire through an eyehole and hang them in a dry place. When you sell it to a fur buyer, they can inspect it like he talked about through the abdominal hole; they are looking at the lower back, where the thickest fur is. Fur company then gets it tanned. Usually in the tanning process the entire fur is dipped and soaked in a vat of chemicals. When it's softened, they can then turn it fur-side-out. If you were to try to turn it while dry, it would likely tear. However, it's the opposite conventionally for three critters: coyotes, bobcats, and foxes are turned fur-side-out after partial drying (12-48 hours, depending upon temperature, humidity, and air flow in your skinning shed). I guess because the fur buyers want to see more of the animal. If you are keeping it yourself, do it however you like, but a lot of people who make their own wall-hangers are painting on solution from the "orange bottle", not dipping it, so it would be better left inside out for this home tanning process.
Nice, detailed instructions! I'm planning on getting into mink trapping, and i will try the tricks i learned from watching your video.
we have to meaning asshole that will not let us use the Dogproof raccoon traps in Florida. but when they have a raccoon in there trash can they cry and the cops or FWC has to come an remove it the name of the trap said it all {DOGPROOF } let me say one more thang put your dog on a leash its the law in Florida. So what I'm try to say is we get punish for stupid people sad life in Florida
nice details in your video ... not sure why you spend the time on the tail when boarding ... the first thing the buyer does is cut it off ! LOL ... after we take such care to dry it and make it look great !
You are a nauseants trapper, damage control trapper, animal control trapper, or whatever name you choose to call it. You also have the ideal situation, being in farming country, knowing all of the farmers, your dad in landscaping, it is the perfect dream situation, which doesn`t apply to 95% of the people watching. Congratulations on winning the lottery.
Great video and sound work , I can hear every word , so many videos have The worst sound ever and those big channels and the $$$ they take in why does their sound production suck so bad , Thanks carry on !!!
Does it look like a re-purposed milking parlor mikk tank room because it is? Nice organization
Just had a mink kill all my chickens and ducks today… I think he’ll make a nice scarf
This is a very helpful video. Thank you for posting. I will definitely reference this as I skin my first raccoon today. It’s a small one, caught in a dp trap, so mostly I’ll just be practicing. Still, great to have your video for reference. I noticed that you haven’t put new content up for a while. Hoping all is well and that you will continue to upload more excellent content. tsl
I had been trying to trap raccoons in this trap for the last 5 days. They kept retrieving the bait without setting it off. I watched your video yesterday and it was the GAME CHANGER! Bro, thank you so much for sharing this idea. It made all the difference. Am subscribed. Looking forward to more of your vids.
About fox
About fox will get then
Is it big enough to use a whole egg as bait?
Interesting, Gary Bonnet (inventor and manufacturer of the Griz Gettr') showed us this tip in 2002 and we used it long before DP's were named DP's and RUclips was just a Thought LOL. Just goes to show, what goes around - comes around,
What knife do you use?
Hope you continue doing videos! I just found your channel and like it a lot! Keep it up man!!
Just found these on my land . Tossed them in trash . 🤣🤣
Very amusing,
Far from being an elite shed.
Lubricant? Bacon grease.
Very helpful tip! Thank you!
Great spot. Good video
Do you eat the beaver? I had it for the first time a while back as a beaver pot roast and it was amazing!
So is boarding the same as tanning? This is what I was looking for to help me skin my possum. The hide looks like paper at the end. Is that with tanning or before tanning? So many questions 😂
No, it is not tanned. It is only dried. Tanning is a separate process.
