Asking a genuine question here to people who know the intricacies of the game better than I do. It seems nearly every time the DB doesn’t turn his head to find the ball. I feel like we’ve had opportunities for me picks on underthrown balls if they turn their head. I understand they can read the WR eyes and hands.
Most dbs are taught to not turn their heads simply because as soon as you lose sight of the receiver the odds of losing him increase a lot but the odds of actually getting the ball are still low, so it’s more of a very high risk to medium reward

If I remember correctly- Mr Urban Meyer said before the OSU Michigan game in 2022 that OSU “Would stop the run”! I believe that Michigan had over 200 yards rushing just in the 2nd half.
