I have an i10 purchased in Nov 2017 , 1.2 L 87 bhp manual 5 sp and its been a super car. I would consider the N-line i10 as my next car. Not a big fan of the VW Up.
Just found Auto Socials channel and it beats Car Wow and the rest easily. Tish is lovely and gives a fair and honest view of all the cars without bias.
In honesty Standard mid range spec with the larger 1.2 engine is a better buy, get the screen, nice features, good performance and economical driving. The i10 is a fabulous car, get a good deal on a mid range model with the larger 1.2 and you won’t go wrong. Get one that is ex-demo or a year old and you will do even better by letting someone else take the initial depreciation hit.
Shame the last advice no longer applies. There is a (artificial or real) shortage of 0km cars and they are all priced above MSRP because 'IT'S AVAILABLE INMEDIATELY'. They are preying on people's impatience.
We have it's sister car, the KIA Picanto GT-line, does the same bleeps. I got used to it pretty quickly. BTW, the KIA gets to 62mph quicker (9.9 secs). We looked at the VW Up GTI, but the cabin was a bit sparse with lots of painted metal on the doors etc. It felt cheap compared to the KIA.
Hi ! First this is a nice review of a good little car. About the bips, if it's like in it's cousin the Picanto (and it's likely to be so) most of the bips come from the fact the belts are not fastened. Just fasten it before ignition and you should be good.
This car's closest competitor is probably the Picanto 1.0 GT turbo. Same engine I think. The Up is abysmal in terms of standard kit, just like all VWs.
She is right! we must not compare this i10 to an up! GTI. I've had 3 VW's over the years and never again! all had loads of problems. Hyundai's ARE reliable and are much better than any boring German product. They surpassed Audi and BMW 5 years ago.
I ordered my new N-Line today after testing, then someone else took it out straight after. While at the dealership I had a sit in one of their Connect models prior to its PDI. But whilst sat in that car and going through the settings menu, I’m sure I saw an Off or 3, 5, 7 ‘bongs’ for open Doors, flashes for one touch indicators and for when the key is inserted. I might be mistaken, but surely the higher graded N-Line will have this feature?
Love the exterior looks of the I10, but that interior when are Hyundai going to start fitting some nice quality plastics and giving the interior a bit of flair.
A few more videos and slowly a car star will be born here in a women's version. No matter what the video is shot at. I just enjoy watching, listening to the exact pronunciation and learning here and there about cars that don't always interest me😚.
I love those alloys. I also prefer the shade of the car over the GTI. It's direct rival would be the Picanto GT turbo. I had one with a tuning box and loved it.
Really relevant review for me as I'm currently having the dilemma over whether to renew my Up! GTI ( that I LOVE) or going for the i10. Despite the extra technology and bits and bobs of the i10 I'd prefer to renew my Up!. Sadly have just found out that it's no longer available to order. I'd be interested to know if the presenter is aware of this and is as sad as I am about it? !
My Picanto does same system check. Doesn't bother me. What does is that it chimes when temperature outside 4 degrees or colder. Also starts in eco for about 5 mins. Just gone off in time for the motorway. Otherwise wouldn't be much fun.
re system check and the 5 bleeps...odd. dad has that model, a 2021 so its a mk3 I10 but not N LINE. Never complained about any bleeping. Perhaps its switschable via the settting menu? Perhaps only on the N line?
I've got a Kia Sportage and you can turn off the various bongs and sounds in the settings. Also the lane assist isn't on automatically. It's a button you can turn on manually on the motorway. It seems more logical that way, not sure they they would change it.
First, the initial statement from the lady was quite 'on the spot' and rather 'courageous' if I may say... well done!. In essence Hyundai did NOT want to make a performance car in that category and in my opinion very correctly, the cars in that category are just too small to even try to behave like 'performance cars', the compromises will be too many and the pricing would just not justify the effort (it would not be much cheaper than i20N anyway...). So, wisely in my opinion, they tried to give it some 'looks' and that's it - and they have succeeded since it looks really different than 'normal' i10 - but it is a very normal i10 underneath... . The mistake they made is that they should have given it 10-20 horsepower more - not too many to make it a 'hot hatch' but enough to differentiate it from the other models. In engines Hyunday is not, unfortunately, up to the competition, even at that power this car simply wants too much fuel for its size without offering extra performance nor any significant refinement - it is not bad but there are better options out there (same is true for all Hyundais more or less). Nevertheless, it has all the Hyundai pros like great reliability, roomy for its size, decent equipment and fair price thus a good buy overall. The review is quite good and realistic I think, well done (again).
Thanks for great review. I like the i10 but here in Sweden we can only get the 1 litre 67 hp engine or the 1 litre turbo n line. I would prefer the n line engine but am worried I might find the ride too firm. Is it a very much firmer ride than the entry level car ?
I've read it can gain 40bhp and nearly 60nm with a remap, that should make a huge difference. Those would give it the figures I would expect a real 'N' model to have

How was the gearbox? I find mine lacks any refinement or slickness, first to second very notchy, selecting reverse can sometimes need a couple attempts. This is a trait common to the previous gens i10 too. Have they improved it?
