Fukuyama is incredibly well informed. He is an inspiration for those who intend to have an intellectual life.

We need more hard thinking about how to prevent this drift toward authoritarian rule.

Trump and authoritarianism is a symptom, not a cause. Late stage Capitalism is leading to the downfall of America

Can we still call it a democracy when the government represents corporate interests and not the interests of the people?

The founding fathers and a nearly 250 year old tradition of democracy has provided you and your peers the tools to fix these problems. Put a little bit more effort in before you throw in the towel!

@@aljewin591But, the Founders were all business men. Except Washington. Who was a famous Indian killer.

Huh? Its already worse than the gilded age in terms of inequality.
Also, colombia just got 25% tariff, increasing to 50% in a week. I hope youre not into coffee too much because your pumpkin spice latte with a dash of coffee will go from 12.99 to 17.99 real soon.
Hey Francis... History is back, man.

Since you epitomize the concept of democracy, why have you been so silent on the Genocide in Gaza ?
So you argue that since democracy has spoken, people have democratically elected Trump, in a clear victory, democracy is in danger ? Sounds like a tautology ... maybe your understanding of democracy is different ?

It's because democratically elected leaders can become heads of autocracy.

I'm a bit confused by the verbiage, but this appears to endorse the idea that if the people vote for something (or someone), it must be democratic, or must be pro-democracy. This is obviously untrue.

@@jaarneal Democracy could come to an end through a democratic process. I think he's saying exactly that. Fukyuama isn't a ham head like Trump. He doesn't lie and say the election was rigged. He admits what happened.

Your leaders are all preselected before they ever have a chance at being elected. Trump is no different. America needed a new script to follow. Trump&musk are attempting to write it as they go. But the underlying story remains the same.

Yeah. Your work is rubbish. This coming from a guy who was so convinced about an end to anything but unipolar world. How must it feel to be so wrong and crawling back on your knees for another look at the world! Hahahha

Common Frank hater L. The original argument was cautiously stated and casuals make too much of it. Meanwhile his more recent work is incredible.
