Very useful! Is there any chance you could make a video how to lubricate this turntable with modern lubricants?

Thanks for this suggestion Mike. We'll try to include this in another tutorial

A very useful set of videos. Could you add a video on lubrication - many people like me will have a very old 505 (mine is original 505 from 1983) which has probably "dried up". Thank you.

Great suggestion! If we get another CS505 here in the store, I'll do it, but we don't have one at the moment.

@@gbaudio1212 I'd like to see that video if you ever make it, I too have an original 505 and the speed isn't as stable as it should be despite a new belt. I'm suspecting lubrication will help!

I have dual cs 505-1 (1982year). Noise level -54 dB during playback (when the needle is not on the vinyl - there is no noise), probably the noise from the motor, the disc rod was lubricated. Is it possible to reduce the noise?

Is the noise present all the time or only when the motor is running? If the noise is there all the time, it may just be that your tonearm isn't earthed properly. Your deck should have a fine single wire beside the phono outputs, which needs to connect to the earth terminal on the amplifier.
If the noise is only present when the motor is running then you should check the motor's rubber mounting bushes which may have dried out or disintegrated and causing vibration to transfer directly to the subchassis and need replacing. Good luck.
