    Thank you for your clarity , I’ve spent a hour of so looking at how to remove the upper chassis from the base on my Duel 505 everyone else seemed to assume we already knew this and jumped to the part where it was already open.
    Your explanation of needing to pivot the transport screws to release it was just what I needed ...thank you so much , great video

    Thank you so much for uploading this. My pitch belt died 15 years ago and now I can replace it!

    Best demo I've seen of this - many thanks . PS My 505 is one of the originals i.e. 505, not 505-1, 505-2 etc

    Hi
    Just got my sticky fingers on a 505 and I noticed the small screw on the head shell is missing.
    Where can I get one from. I've looked on eBay but with no luck.
    Great tutorial vids by the way.

    hi' i have the 504 which seems very similar, and it doesnt change speed when you switch from 33 to 45 i thought it might be to do with this belt but when i opended it up and looked the belt seems ok and i can see parts moving when turning the switch but something must not be connected, i was wondering if you know what i need to do?

    • @gbaudio1212
      @gbaudio1212  2 года назад +1

      The speed change is a simple system where the belt is flipped by a 'fork' device up to a smaller pulley for 33rpm or down to a wider pulley for 45rpm. The 'fork' device may be out of alignment or maybe the belt is too loose to grip properly. Or the belt may have been changed for one which is the wrong width - maybe too wide - and it can't shift far enough to get completely on the right part of the pulley.

    hi, i have the same turntable but my tonearm doesn't lift at the end of the record, have you any idea what cause's it, and if it can be solved?
    ty very much

    • @gbaudio1212
      @gbaudio1212  3 года назад +1

      First, check the arm lifter pillar. It's situated a bit left of the flat plate in front of the tonearm bearings (pivot points). The pillar is threaded so that it can be turned by hand to adjust the height of the lift. If that's not the problem, it may be a sticky or broken part of the mechanical linkage under the sub-chassis which kicks in when the tonearm reaches the end of a record. Good luck.

    Sir, I have this turntable.The rotates in the correct direction when the record is played but during payback itself the platter stops and starts rotating in the opposite direction.
    What could be the issue?

    • @gbaudio1212
      @gbaudio1212  10 месяцев назад

      Strange, I've never encountered that issue before. I would try removing the platter and drive belt and let the motor run for a while without a load. Check if the motor runs in the correct direction.

      Thank you for your response.Really it is a very different issue from the various issues of tt.I removed platter but without removing the main rubber belt ,I observed that the inner plate would rotate in the correct direction and then would stop momentarily and then rotate in the reverse direction.Really it is quite intriguing.I think that it will require the change of motor and the power pcb of the unit.But unable to find the same.

    I found it easier to thread the belts the other way round from top pulley to bottom.

      @@fmrsolutions The white 'pulley' is not meant to turn, it's really just a cap for the yellow pulley below it which should turn.

    Same product for 505-2?

    • @gbaudio1212

      Yes, they are the same. The main drive belt is BELT13 and the pitch belt is BELT2.
