some tips for you to try… trust me on these! 1. dont anchor the jugs… let them drift. 2.try chunks of chicken breast for bait. I catch LOTS of blue cats this way!!
I’ll have to see if I can get my wife to come along! 😂😂 excellent time to spend together. My kind of American living!
Great to see you both fishing together again, do it more often.
Thanks for the knot lessons, I've about forgotten them all!
My dad used to take his friend, me and my brother to irrigation canals near the Mexican border and by Falcon Lake. We would bait and drop over 100 jugs made from used Freon bottles with cotter pins soldered in the top and set various depths with treble hooks with various baits. We went up the canal about 4 or 5 miles in the morning to drop them, go back to camp and have lunch, then later go about a mile up to check and start gathering them. In one weekend we would catch 100 to 150 nice channel cats. Those were the most memorable fishing trips we had. We always brought extra coolers to ice them down. Lots of campsite crispies to be had, too. Much appreciate you bringing back those old (early ‘70s) memories. I was in my teens then, now I’m 65. There were no such thing as pool noodles back then, but I like this method too. Bless you and the family…
i usually jug at night and camp close by... just a gallon jug with glow sticks inside...some of the best times I've ever had
Always good seeing OSG out on the water!
Always good to see osg on board. She actually enjoyed this adventure. Great informative content.
Lucky man! She goes fishing, cooks, and good looks!! Good for you!! She goes fishing with you!!! Happy for you both!
Glad to see OSG back on the water again!!!
Don't argue if she wants to come.......just don't let her outfish you!!!! That is very humbling......truly! Expert camera work!!!! Love the rig! Solid design. Have a great weekend!!!
Loved this video! My husband and I loved fishing with noodles. We usually fished at night and put reflective tape on them or those light sticks you can buy at the Dollar Tree.. Keep making those memories because sadly one day those memories will be all you have left.
love the variety of videos you do justin from hamming biggins with jigs to camping to juging cats. It's all great entertainment and inspiring others to try new things.
Need the recipe for one and two this is the content I want and enjoy. Something informative and detailed. 🎣
My favorite knot knerd. Your Alberto knot video from 7 years ago was a game changer. Tight lines
LFG is the Macgyver of fishing!
Such a simple was of catching mondos!! Always a great vid when osg makes an appearance too
GLAD TO SEE OFG GOES TO WITH LFG ON YOUR TRAVELS!!!!!!!!!GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!!!
Looks like you got yourself a new fishing partner 😊
We need an OSG cheesy grits recipe ASAP!
dang i’d pay for that lmao
100% please give us a video on the grits. I live in NJ and people struggle to cook grits correct
I will never, ever understand the love of grits in the southern US. I’m fully on board with southern food traditions, but grits are 🤮
Agreed, let’s get it
@@Stonehorn if it's the texture of the grits that you don't like I understand. However if the texture doesn't bother you may I suggest you try grits again. It could have been dish you had. I felt the same way about scrapple. Soon as someone cooked it for me on a blacktop mmmmmm so good.
Steph has some absolutely killer lines in this
Cutting the pool noodle is so satisfying
If you put a small v-notch on both sides of a paddle you can snag the line and drag the jug to the boat.
Great video, thanks 👍
OSG = OMY SHES GORGEOUS!!!.. JEALOUS FROM MAINE😂😂😂. Mad respect brother. Keep videos coming. Shoot up to Jon Bs camp in Maine sometime.
Quel plaisir d'avoir une femme comme la vôtre elle vous suit de partout elle vit la vie que vous aimez vous êtes très heureux ça se voit
Awesome innovation. A light absorbing glow-in-the-dark or reflective tape potentially for night jugging maybe? We'll never forget that 9 lber you and Lunkers pulled out that one time. 😂 "OHHHHHHHMG WTH!!!"
Heck yeah!
I do like the pvc style tip up ones; but, for what you were going for this is excellent. Inexpensive, quick and really easy to make and fish with.
Invite Luke down for a session, he would show up for SURE.. awesome shoutout to him!!
You could glue a small piece of pvc pipe in the bottom so the line doesn't mess up the noodle/jug. File the inside nice and smooth, and then there would be no worries.
That's definitely the best way to do it. Gray conduit fits perfect
So I saw yappy’s cat fish video..then flair…now LFG. lol y’all are entertaining!!
Luv it when OSG gets to be on the boat
A collaboration with Catfish and Carp (a/k/a Luke) would be pretty awesome.
Great video... so many things you can do with making jugs. Can even put a piece of pvc on the bottom so the line wont rip through as you were talking about.
this is the way all humans should live. loving life and each other while making sure we eat healthy self harvested food!
You could take about a 2” long piece of 3/4” schedule 20 pvc and stick the line through it, then insert the pvc into the bottom center of your jug to prevent line from cutting into the noodle.
I ENJOYED YOUR NEW SET UP ON THE POOL NOODLES. i HAVE MADE SOME WITH THE PVC BUT i LIKE YOURS MUCH BETTER. I ALWAYS USED CLOROX JUGS AND THEY GET TO BE A PROBLEM. i ENJOY CAT FISHING, SETTING BANK LINES AND SUCH. bEEN DOING IT SINCE I WAS KID WITH MY GRANDFATHER AND UNCLES. i AM 70 NOW AND DON'T GET TO DO IT MUCH ANYMORE. LET'S CATCH SOME MORE.
Blackened Catfish :) YUUUMMMM
Love seeing OSG out there with ya! Great video!
OSG realizing she had to get out of your chair so you could start the engine and drive the boat 😊
Y’all are relationship goals 💯
That catfish looks delicious!!
Pretty smile .
I would love to see Catfish&Carp and LFG on a video. Fishing for giant Cats! An maybe camping! Let LFG know! Lol
Got to try this!
Love the catfish content!
You could just get some cheap rubber gaskets to put on either side of the stick to it from possibly moving back and forth. Or just wrap the ends in tape.
You two are a perfect match
First and Foremost you 2 make an amazing example of what an American couple should be. Your both pretty awesome.
On tiny thought I had for these simple fishing Jugs ( depending on your regulations of course ) is on the top near your stick and a band of reflective tape that way if you loose 1 you can go back at night with a spot light and it would be much easier to find it.
Even if the fish got away youd just be leaving less trash
Love everything LFG
I’ve been watching you on Googan Squad for a year now and I’m just now watching and subscribed to your channel. I see why you have over a million subscribers your video is great so detailed and clean very informative and professional!
Justin thank you for producing great, fun, and informative videos. Most will never achieve what you are succeeding at. You have a wonderful family and keeping it together with the career you have taken is a difficult task. You have successfully gathered a viewing audience from younger teens to us old salty dogs. My wife and I love you and OSG. Keep it going, keep it safe, and keep it real. Many thanks Papa T.
dude excellent presentation, you're a natural teacher!
Love OSG. Her face when you gunned it 😂😂
Nice idea on the jugs. Got me to thinking about ways to make mine adjustable for depth. Thanks!
Brillant tips and tutorial. Thanks
Awesome video! Nice to see your wife joined the adventure with you.
Thank you....awsome video
Love catfish
Hey man, I’m glad to see y’all are doing well. I remember when you had the brain tumor removed and I had hoped at that point you would make a full recovery. Seems like you’re doing great and I glad to see it. I’m just down the road always in Montague county. I really need to get out to lake Fork and do some fishing. From me and my family we wish y’all the best going forward. Take care and wet a line.
Awesome!!! Great video.
Hey,im so glad OSG when out for a Catch and a Laugh😂.
I love it when a plan comes together🌞.
Fish for Dinna 🎉.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Not knocking that method of fishing but the enjoyment of fighting the fish is my favorite part of it but when it comes to dinner whatever it takes is good
You could insert a 4” piece of pvc,it would prevent tear out and help noodle to tip up when hit.
If you'll buy only a few until September, you can find those pool noodles for 50 cents each, pretty much everywhere they're sold. Load up on them in September for next year. Or your next outing. Stumbled across your channel a week or so ago, then your wife's. Hope your noggin's doing well? You have a beautiful wife, and kids. Thanks for all of the fishing info..
I absolutely love fishing. Don't know if it's a southern thing, but I can go sit on a lake, pond, whatever, from daylight til dark. I throw most of it back. But, some fried or smoked or pick a way- catfish filets, are delicious!
I have seen a lot of people make these But Yours is quicker and easier
It had to be the pink jugs that got your girl out on the boat with you, lol.
LFGs biggest catch! His wife! She is beautiful and wants to go with you. Congrats man! Keep up the the good videos!
Love the cooking videos!
I decided to make some of these using your "toggle" idea. But, as a Plan B, I went out and bought 1/2-in PVC pipe, PVC end caps, eye bolts and nuts, and 3M 5200 to seal the hole in the end cap. You know, just in case.
PROS:
Well, I went out this morning and your noodle jugs worked way beautifully. I only had one snag (my fault - it was too shallow for my 25-ft line). When I went to pull it in, the snag nearly pulled my arm off but the toggle did its job and stayed put. I just cut the line.
CONS:
I have to return all the PVC, eye bolts, and 5200 to Home Depot.
Thanks for the video!!
My uncle builds these and sells these to Toledo tackle on TB. He puts pvc through the middle with a cap on each end with the line tied to the bottom of one side of the pvc. It makes the noodle stand straight up and down. I should send you a few of them.
My late Dad would make up jugs, and we had a blast pulling them out of the water.
Awesome video love them all!!
If the marlin knot does happen to slip may think about using a clove hitch. Just a thought.
LOve the Clove hitch that and a Bowline are my fav!!
Cool
Good video! I'm a little late to the party but for since extra insurance you could run a zip tie before the duct tape. But from what I've watched so far. Duct take is working just fine!
I like it!
The old murc! My motors from the 80s
Nice 👍 too see you both bring them in awesome video 📸
You got a keeper with that OSG BRO. Hahaha keep them coming for the FAM!
Super informative video!
I put pvc pipe in the middle and use a railroad spike as a weight. Used to waste too much time driving around the lake looking for the jugs. When you have 10+ jugs setting them out can take too long with the wrong design.
Man you are the best
Marlin knot we call a Slip Knot and if you pull it around till it knots then it cannot allow the toggle to free float.still releases just have to tug a little harder. Laws have changed and glad you said 3 inch diameter I now must revamp a few of mine I used 2 inch noodle from years back. All of my throw lines are interchangeable and a few for major sized cats. I also added reflector tape for night fishing, losing one can get you a fine now.
Tin rig videos are great
You guys are too cute together!
❤
This reminds me of going with my wife and the kids to lake Conroe. We set out about 13 jigs then go fish under the bridge for an hour. I made a pvc stick with a bike hook glued into the end of it as a jug gaff. I’m way over due for that.
🔥🔥🔥
Great video! Thanks for sharing, I'm gonna make some for my fish trip this weekend. Hi5!
Well done we’re you a Boy Scout by chance?
Just stumbled on your channel. Been watching you vids back to back
I built mine with capped pvc with rebar weights.... These tip up type noodles leave no questions as to having a bite since they stand on end as the weight sides to the bottom. lines are attached with eye screws on one end.
need more OSG when you guys get time.
Mantap tehnik boskuu
I would find a plastic bottle that would fit over the noodle and cut the bottom of the bottle off to fit over the end of your rig.
Melt a hole thru the bottom, feed your line thru, this would keep your line from cutting into the noodle.
New subscriber here; nice video, some really good information!
Easy fix on the dowel. Sink it a little deeper, then a reusable zip tie.
That was interesting, my wife wouldn’t go past the end of the driveway without a shower, some makeup, earrings and some bling and she for sure wouldn’t wear clothes that looked wore out. I liked when she took the hook out with the pliers, you said put it in the cooler, she brought the cooler to the fish. Priceless. ;)
🤣🤣Dude! you did go to Walmart with that Ozark Trail line... Never'd jug fished but thanks to you. Im going to try it now... Thanks !
Great video! Thanks for sharing your ideas. Using the marlinspike hitch with a toggle for rigging is pure genius! You called it the one drawback, but I see it as the best part of your system. It allows for super easy depth adjustment and you get to tie a cool and easy knot (knot junkie). Tonight's project...re-rig all my jugs. Thanks again for sharing another great outdoor adventure.
