I was the Canadian Producer on this music video and we shot it in the fall of '06 at the Armory studios in Vancouver, BC. What a privilege it was to work with a talented production staff and film crew for that one day shoot. There's lot's of awesome rock n' roll memories in the halls of the Armory studios as it was owned by legendary rock producer, Bruce Fairbairn. It was so cool to get to go in there and soak it all in! I disagree. I think he'd take it as tribute to his own supporters. Both sides have done enough protesting disrupting and harassing of the other that neither one can claim to embody the spirit of this song anymore. If either side claims they have taken the higher road, they are lying. I have seen the same disruptive action as 1:30 initiated by both groups, though both will point the finger at the other. I've been sick of both sides for a long time now, but what's been happening AFTER the election is disgraceful. So many riots and assaults over what should have been a job hunt but is treated as a civil war; so many people caught on this caustic "Us vs. Them" mentality; so many refusing to get on with their lives and try to do something productive with the circumstances they are living in; I can't see how we can go back to being a unified, respectful society unless both side simultaneously realize that fighting about the problem is what is causing the problem. The only other way this can end is with violence so terrible that no one is willing to stand up anymore and I'm afraid that we are close to the tipping point where that is inevitable. So please, stop throwing out statements that demonize the "other side", using hyperbole mixed with hate, and acting as if people on the street with a different view than you are some sort of enemy. We're all supposed to be one nation, and all working together to keep this nation safe and prosperous. We can't do that if we are dividing ourselves like this. That's part of what this song is about. Today I returned to nickleback, 18 years of age since last week, in honor of my father. He loved nickleback, and I know why, because i grew up on it. Love you dad, 1 month since you've passed, and many more to go.

Many people do animal rescue, my self included, we rescue animals from high kill shelters and we all oppose animals being experimented on also, but we get the animals OUT to FREEDOM !!! We fight the good fight !!! The look on those animals faces once they are out of the kill shelter is a total look of relief, they KNEW the peril they where facing !!! And thanks to US rescuers they KNOW they are now finally SAFE !!! So if everyone cared perhaps there would be more of us rescuers, I can only pray and hope for this !!! This was the first Nickelback song I’d ever heard. It was 2009 or 10, I was in 5th grade and we were reading “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry in language arts class and learning about prejudice, bias, and discrimination, and our teacher showed us this music video. I loved it so much, less about the content and more about the music admittedly, being only 11, that I just had to ask her which song this was. From then on for the next few years, it became one of the songs I listened to the most.
I've always loved Nickelback and I listened to this song for the first time very recently. It's absolutely beautiful and I especially love the chorus!!

I disagree. I think he'd take it as tribute to his own supporters. Both sides have done enough protesting disrupting and harassing of the other that neither one can claim to embody the spirit of this song anymore. If either side claims they have taken the higher road, they are lying. I have seen the same disruptive action as 1:30 initiated by both groups, though both will point the finger at the other. I've been sick of both sides for a long time now, but what's been happening AFTER the election is disgraceful. So many riots and assaults over what should have been a job hunt but is treated as a civil war; so many people caught on this caustic "Us vs. Them" mentality; so many refusing to get on with their lives and try to do something productive with the circumstances they are living in; I can't see how we can go back to being a unified, respectful society unless both side simultaneously realize that fighting about the problem is what is causing the problem. The only other way this can end is with violence so terrible that no one is willing to stand up anymore and I'm afraid that we are close to the tipping point where that is inevitable. So please, stop throwing out statements that demonize the "other side", using hyperbole mixed with hate, and acting as if people on the street with a different view than you are some sort of enemy. We're all supposed to be one nation, and all working together to keep this nation safe and prosperous. We can't do that if we are dividing ourselves like this. That's part of what this song is about. Putting aside the divisiveness that this election has spawned and recognizing that we need to work together if we're going to make all this work.

Many people do animal rescue, my self included, we rescue animals from high kill shelters and we all oppose animals being experimented on also, but we get the animals OUT to FREEDOM !!! We fight the good fight !!! The look on those animals faces once they are out of the kill shelter is a total look of relief, they KNEW the peril they where facing !!! And thanks to US rescuers they KNOW they are now finally SAFE !!! So if everyone cared perhaps there would be more of us rescuers, I can only pray and hope for this !!! This was the first Nickelback song I’d ever heard. It was 2009 or 10, I was in 5th grade and we were reading “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry in language arts class and learning about prejudice, bias, and discrimination, and our teacher showed us this music video. I loved it so much, less about the content and more about the music admittedly, being only 11, that I just had to ask her which song this was. From then on for the next few years, it became one of the songs I listened to the most.
