A+ to Veer for pointing out that his brother's nose incident had more to do with the friends than the fact it was a football match. He is quiet and wise - quiet people always do big things later in life 💕🙌

I love watching Zarna Garg and the family. Because it feels like I am sitting and watching the future. I have a 4-year-old, and all these conversations have made me understand what she will think in a few years and how I should navigate. Admire the strong, independent kids they three are.

ahhh to have a family like this…where every member participates in conversation and bringing out their thoughts on table so transparently….these kind of family conversation session literally must be a therapy…and there are family like mine where we don’t really talk…let alone deep talks….it’s hardly once in a blue moon we share things!! we don’t and can’t express to each other what we are thinking or feeling in as normal tone as you guys are doing so eloquently, keeping your points out so that the other person understands…i mean of course there is love between my family as well…but conversation like this is a far-fetched idea..wouldn’t end without a heated argument or silent treatment at the end…so, you guys as a family is a blessing cause conversation is key for you guys in literal sense, that many family units sadly does not posess….listening to ya’ll is always riveting and I always look forward to your family episodes…thanks for putting it out for us🤍

This is a fantastic episode…your entire family is so inspiring to me…the respect and love you all have for each other is mind blowing!…this is how a family should be!.,,able to talk about anything, agree to disagree and be able to talk in a civil tone to each other…you all did an amazing job today!…My A+ grade goes to Brij 💯 percent..he brought so much to the conversation today that was insightful and wise..,he is going to make good choices in life, but still have fun and maybe try some “risky” fun activities as he gets older.,he has a clear head on his shoulders to know the difference!..,this is my favorite family in an extremely long time to watch on social media!!!!…we are SO blessed by you all!…much love and appreciation for you all!..Zarna thank you so much for sharing your family with us!.,,as I always say. “This is the family America needs right now”!!💜💜💜💜💜💜

Totally get what Zarna is saying about the amount of stress that the mother has to endure in these seemingly picture perfect and harmless holidays. On a family holiday to Fiji, my daughter and my husband went snorkeling in literally like waist deep waters around the reef right outside our villa. They moved quite far and it started raining and I couldn’t see them. I was in such panic, I thought I lost my family in this vacation!!! I told the guys at the boat shed about my predicament and they all seemed amused because they knew just how shallow the water was. I was really annoyed. They told me not to worry. A few minutes later I saw my little family swimming back. They were fine, they had a great time while I was palpitating at the shore😅😅😅 So yes, these getaways are fun but my fun as a mom is mixed up with fear too.

This family is just the absolute best. The way the parents are raising their kids is fantastic. I'm almost 79. My husband and I sent all 3 of our boys to overnight camps for the entire summer every summer. They loved their experiences and I loved the freedom I had for all those weeks. I was an inner city school teacher my entire career and, looking back, I knew I needed that "me" time.
My sons are now 46, 48, 51. They're all very successful and, believe it or not, are still in contact with quite a few people they attended camp with all those years ago. I realize we were probably outliers but it worked for us.

Now with two kids..will I panic when they get on a king dhaka or ocean kayaking themseleves..I certainly will..so In my opinion it has not much to do with immigrant or non immigrant..once u become a parent u see and value life differently! good podcast! I resonated with every word spoken in this podcast . I agree with Zarna completely in terms of taking extra risks just to show you are cool or know how to have fun . For me the summary was in “ Boring is so underrated “ . I was brought up in a similar way and after seeing the world independently for more than 35 years I agree with all the principles I was brought up on, which were find happiness in meaningful things . For me too Brij was the star , his summary and eloquence today was top notch . This is my favourite family after my own . So real , so grounded , so brilliant! Well done Zarna and Shalabh !

Boring does not mean unhappy. Nailed it, Zarna. And for that I give you an A in this episode. There is something to be said about Indian culture in this regard. Because Indian culture regards preserving and celebrating life (not just human but life all around us) as a top priority and it is frowned upon to waste precious life on frivolous activities. So it is very much an Indian thing to not partake in thrill-seeking activities IF it also comes with a certain level of risk. No judgement here, just an observation. In my opinion it is a good thing. But how far should one take that and not enjoy simple pleasures along the way is a matter of one's judgement.

I particularly loved this episode and wanted to comment since you mentioned family therapy. I'm one of those "scam" 😉 therapists, although I'm not a family therapist. Your family is both lovely and loving and obviously very intelligent. Auntie Zarna, I really appreciate what you said about parents wanting to be cool. I'm ashamed to say I'm a bit too much that way myself. My daughter is 27 and my son is almost 25. My son is a cautious person, and always has been, but he bought a motorcycle last year! Ugh...he assures me he always wears a helmet and took the necessary classes, but still. I hate motorcycles and always have. I totally understand the fun part, but the danger utterly terrifies me.

I am the one, who stood first in the class, been successful with career, and successful in an Indian way but I admire how out-of-box what you are doing. As far as our kids, we have always encouraged them to play sports, try new stuff and at the same time we took academics seriously. They ended up good, so I guess kids can still do it all.

To each his own, fun is subjective, do your kind of fun. Now, if you're a minor and a dependent then of course you have to listen to your parents. But as an adult you should be able to enjoy the things and experiences that you yearn for. It's true that physical sports/adventures can be dangerous, but you can't really live life being overly cautious all the time, you got to let go and live life. After all, life is unpredictable, if your time is up it doesn't matter if you're in the safety of your home or bungee jumping in Macau Tower, if it's time to go then you go :)

Guys go skating in hudson park and dine at some place overlooking the river, or go to the wall street pier, take a ferry ride and then go to one of the seashacks overlooking the docks and gorge on maine lobsters, or go to the natural history museum and take their zero gravity space ride or to the metropolitan museum and after enjoying the exhibits, buy some wonderful things from its gift shop, or visit every borough and eat food typical.of that borough like pastrami sandwiches and other deli food or dim sum in chinatown. Or go to the coney island fair and eat hotdogs. Or to the hamptons for a luxury weekend stay in a hotel. New york is so big, i think they even have wineries around where you can spend a day drinking wine and eating. Or take a ride across the bridge into canada and back in one day. Or spend an evening at the theatre on broadway or helping out in a soup kitchen or walking and feeding dogs at a shelter. Or listen to an open air concert or watch a live performance in central park and pack a picnic basket to take with you to sit on the grass and eat there or a hamper from fortnum & masons with some bubbly or eat at one of the delicious food stalls around central park. Or all of you go together for a spa day.

My youngest son used to love to do all kinds of outdoor adventures when he was in high school. He loved downhill skiing, raced his mountain bike down hills so steep and terrain filled with logs, boulders, etc., that I couldn’t even watch. Of course he had a skateboard, went hiking in the Olympic Mountains where cougars, bears, coyote or mountain goats will happily kill you. But now that he is an adult and is responsible for earning money to pay rent, car payments, insurance, groceries, etc., he realizes he cannot afford to take the risks he did when he was a teenager and mom would take care of him if he got hurt.
Of course I agree that we don’t want to live in such a way that fear of injury prevents us from having any fun, but I have to side with Zarna on this one.
BTW, I struggled with mom guilt too. My phone was always with me just so my kids could contact me whenever they needed me.
You have a wonderful family and an amazing woman steering the ship, but please lighten up on her a bit. She loves all of you so much and truly wants the best you.

Brijj , 💯 on POV. Mom definitely started some conspiracy around low maintenance in the theme parks.... Accidents happened doesn't mean they were designed to be..

Skiing on a slope is not “crazy”. Having some fun on a roller coaster or at an amusement park is not “crazy”. Experiencing the wind on a jet ski is not “crazy”. These three poor children seem to be incredibly sheltered in spite of living in Manhattan. My children have been skiing in Michigan their entire lives and not once has either seen anything traumatic on the slope or know anyone that was hurt or endangered whilst skiing.
Thank goodness Shalabh has a more balanced outlook on life. Poor Zoya is so guilt ridden she has to undergo therapy. None of this is “normal”. These children need to have normal experiences which will help them grow and thrive once they leave home. Everyone today gets an A except Zarna. I like her comedy but what comes across about her in these episodes is just beyond unhealthy. She refuses to allow her children to grow up.

Zarna you have to let your kids struggle a bit in the real world where they have to fight for their survival so that way they understand the realities of life. The issue is that you shelter them so much that they are out of touch from reality and hence come up with cringe happiness theory, crave adventure and need therapy. As a 20 something I would request you to please give your kids some space to explore themselves and the world around them, an opportunity to take risks and develop self-autonomy.

there is a very strong solar flare like the one which happened yesterday, combined with the Earth's atmosphere and magnetic field, it produces Auroras. People are very fortunate to even see this right up to northern Italy," Dr Kumar said.
"The Aurora could also be seen in Ladakh... Flares come and go; they don't affect us directly but can affect our day-to-day activities like communication as the satellites can be disrupted. Satellite TV signals and radio communication could also get disrupted," the scientist said.
