    Thanks for the info on the telescopic. My first Phenix elixir was a telescopic and now I’m extra careful …so far nothing has happened because I’m always keeping an eye on the guide. Got the 7’6” as well in a one piece right after. Next rod is probably gonna be the mirage or the dragonfly.

    Celebrate life brother! I have survived two attempts on my life from bad people. I am glad to be alive. About 10 years ago, I had the most terrible period in my life. Everything in my life went to crap all at the same time. My friends could not believe I did not turn to drinking or drugs or just give up. I knew things would get better and they did. I eventually got married to a beautiful woman and we now have a beautiful daughter. I have no time for depression. Anyways, time to talk fishing rods. Have you noticed any difference in sensitivity between a one piece fishing rods versus two piece fishing rods? Have you tried the new Dobyns Sierra Trout and Panfish Series rods?

      I have only fished a Phenix Iron Feather 2 piece, vs all my trout rods I have are 1 piece, the iron feather is an amazing rod even compared to the other phenix trout rods but is similar in action to the elixir and I DID NOT notice a difference, I caught a nice brown trout this weekend on it! I’m leaning towards 2 piece rods due to easier for travel and hiking. Which I’m doing more of! Hope that helped! Thanks for the support GET MADE!

    Semper does make the full Trout Rod, now, but they'll run you more than a nice Blue Halo fly rod, if you can find them in stock. There are some other decent USA-made trout and panfish rods out there: Lamiglas, Edge, and Cajun, I know of. St. Croix has the Premier and I think the Legend Elite Panfish is also American made. Then there are a bunch of custom builders, as well, like Kraemer. None of them have the good looks of the Elixir, and some are "technically" panfish rods, but in my experience, they're basically the same thing: it's just a matter of what action you need.
    Anyway, nice video.

    All I have are legalis and fuegos, for under 4000 reels (I wish they were all fuegos). Baitcasters are fathoms, conventional are the same. What matters are the rods. The fuego 2500/Phenix elixir (I got the 7) are a well balanced strong 💪🏽 combo.

    • @TroutMadeAnglerCo
      @TroutMadeAnglerCo  2 года назад

      Great reels! I’d agree that a good combo is necessary to be confident whatever that may be each person has a different preference. 2500 reels are too heavy for me I like sensitivity of a lighter setup so that the sensitivity is at its max a heavy reel creates “drag” or lessens the sensitivity IMO but I’d buy the rod I’d want before the reel I wanted! Personally I prefer the telescoping Phenix Rod for its ease of transporting from home to the truck, and its easy fast to extend. I'm careful with recessing the rod tip back into the rod handle, and no problems with a loose guide closest to the handle. I've never snapped a Phenix Rod yet, but there's a first time for everything. LOL.. I own the Mirage, Elixir, and Dragonfly trout rod models. 🎣💦

The moderate dragonfly was a little too weak on the hookset I lost fish my only grip of you will with that particular model. I been trout fishing yay area lakes since I was a kid going on 45 next month I nailed some monster double diggie trouts and was very lucky to get them on video and got them on my RUclips ! You have a cool show bro and hopefully my 1 sub will get you to 2k followers 👍 I have both phenix and Gloomis rods and Id have to say that each rod serves it own purposes! I have a old quantum green county and it’s paired with a older shimano Sahara 1000 a $120 combo and it’s caught 2 PB mt lassen trouts one was on the troll that weighed 10.00 on the dot and the 2nd was my biggest caught on bait it weighted 14.8lbs i still fish with that lucky stick even tho I have $1000 rod n reel set ups lol but you need to come to the Bay Area and fish with us sometime we have some Great Lakes in NorCal! Tight Lines and happy holidays bro.* SVTKILR *

    Is the 7’6 elixir action much slower than the 7’? Im looking to fish this with 1/24 -1/8 oz spinners and small plugs so I want a fairly fast action. Thanks.

    • @TroutMadeAnglerCo
      @TroutMadeAnglerCo  3 года назад

      If you get fast action with any size I assume it’s the same and doesn’t differ from 6” and you’re talking a while different rod. I’d go into the tackle shops and hold the beauties! 🤘🏼💯🎣 Thanks for watching!
