Surprise that bmw didn’t turn into a S shape super tight round them bends and full throttle he doesn’t need Xdrive conversion the tcr golf is the most fun on video by my eyes ?
Because if it’s turbocharged the car has given its max bhp and torque already and tapers off at the extreme high rpm so it’s best to change up before pointlessly revving it out with no gains. That’s why a turbo diesel is best driven by riding the torque wave and changing up early and not revving its guts out wasting time to change up and get back in the power band.
@@robertg.5932 I would put that down in part to mechanical sympathy. Pushing them too hard in some cases just results in them overheating as we see many times. I also see some owners request he change up at certain rpm too. I’ve seen countless videos of him though taking cars to redline and shifting well into the change up lights flashing/ audio beep. The BMW compact a few weeks ago was screaming at 6k plus the entire lap as are most Hondas he drives for obvious reasons of them being high revving and producing power after 5800 rpm when most cars are dying off. I think you are under the impression that all cars develop maximum power at maximum revs. It’s like a big V8, no turbo but they don’t rev out being high displacement torquey engines so you change up accordingly. Going even higher in the rpm is no longer making any more power and its max torque left the chat way before redline being developed way down low to mid range. If it’s a flat plane crank V8 then you rev that thing to the moon to extract all available power as it’s usually a shorter stroke free revving engine developing it way higher towards the peak rev range relying on BHP to make up for flat planes TORQUE deficit. Also, I notice days where Misha is FAR more aggressive in general driving style and pushes the car harder. Now you can attribute that to many things. Going for a fast time, having a good/bad day, perhaps the car is particularly enjoyable?
Did the AR1s never really wake up (they squealed until the end of the lap), or were you just driving that hard? Edit: wrote you a msg. You'll probably see it anyway :)
I saw many of your mk7 gti videos and on all, the ea888 seems more elastic of an engine and the chassis looks much better; the mk6 looks very limited by understeer, regardless of the tuning.
the mk6 is an ea888 lol. Just a lot easier to make power on the ea888 gen 3, mostly because of it having twice the amount of injectors so fueling is less of an issue to overcome (ea888 gen2 is limited to around 330-350hp on stock fueling). Also the DQ250 is limited in torque if you want longevity as opposed to what's achievable with the DQ500 equipped mk7s. All in all though, the mk6 gets down. Just takes a lot more love to make a rocket. These come to life when you up the turbo and supporting fueling. Even just a K04-x (which is what was offered in the S3 and Golf R of the same generation) puts mk6 on par with the 7. As for suspension, chassis braces, sway bars, sb end links, and coilovers ofc seem to do well. The mk7 was most certainly a more potent package out of the factory, but that's of course to be expected when moving up a generation in any car.
@@CumulonmbusThat mk6 ed35 is EA113 with K04. Ea888 gen 2 is not limited to 330-350hp at stock fueling and yes, K04 hybrid is match for is38 MQB. DQ250 could be easily remaped to handle more torque. There are also Mk7 with DQ250 with 6 speeed.
yes it certainly is, you're correct about the ed35 mk6s but literally over 95% of the mk6s have the EA888 Gen 2. As for fueling, yes I should certainly know as was for the reason for me going STRATIFIED Auxiliary Port Injection (and their reason for selling the kit in the first place..) they ARE CERTAINLY limited to fueling much more than the Gen 3 EA888s that come with TWICE the injectors. I also have HPA's stage 3 tcu tune to even have a chance at handling the torque at this level, but some slippage is still to be expected without just upgrading DQ250s to aftermarket clutch packs... which I would only do should I grenade mine (im GTX2867R turbo swapped, good for 4XX on Pump Gas, low 5XX on Methanol) @@fedjadrndarski5606
