      You can't take out the cushion anyway because the thread for the tufted effect goes through the whole cushion.... so you wouldn't be able to remove it anyway

    If you find those buttons popping off you can add a little "button" of faux leather or thick fabric on the bottom side to stop the knot from popping through if someone sits down heavily on the cushion (I've seen this on vintage furniture ☺️)

    The floor poof definitely should have been made with a zipper and the couch cushion could have been made smaller to fit Inside it. Floor Poof's need to be washable and a removable cover is much easier to wash than the whole thing.

    Little tufting hack: just use a normal, small button ( there are usually really cheap fabric lined ones in craft stores, that are used on sheets. They should protect your floors from scratching) on the other side of the cushion (or whatever ur tufting). Makes it very easy to knot and pull tight the thread 👍🏻

  • @heatherinparis
    @heatherinparis 5 лет назад +43

    Why unstuff the cushion thing? Unstuffing makes such a mess all over with dusty fluff......wouldn't it be easier and less messy to just pull the cover over the whole pillow, sew it up and add the buttons?

    • @isabelanywhere8200
      @isabelanywhere8200 5 лет назад +6

      I don't think the cushion was the size they wanted the pillow to be, so that's probably why they didn't use the whole cushion.

    • @michelepaccione8806
      @michelepaccione8806 5 лет назад +3

      Also, why try to make a big knot at the back of the cushion to keep the thread from popping through? Just put four inexpensive buttons on the reverse side. That way you're sure they won't pop through the pillow.

    • @Frank-fo4bw
      @Frank-fo4bw 5 лет назад +4

    All of these hacks are very neat! Someone recreating the floor pouf might consider sizing the cover to the size of the pouf with a zipper/repurpose the original zipper. My issue with most floor poufs is cleanliness. Haha. If you kept the cushion as is, and just slipped the cover on, the cover could be removed for laundering!
