  • Finally took the plunge !!.. Hope I don't get in too much hot water.. . Here's an overview of installation of New Champion 3 Core Aluminum Radiator (CC6065-LP) made for an early Econoline.. it was recommended by the tech people at Champion..notice the inlet is on the passenger side side.. (I flipped the thermostat housing to fit). The tech guy reassured me that this would not affect the cooling process.. It is a little smaller that a 1st Gen radiator. but has the mounting flange on the correct side, which was important for me. .. There were almost no others I could find with the housing on the engine side that would fit in the doghouse. Had to come up with a little bridge mount on the drivers side though. I tried to to show the process here including dealing with the height of the inlet hose, measuring the mounting holes , and using a the bucket and 6X6 to rest the radiator on while installing by one's self. I ran it for about 25 minutes without the Electric pusher fan ,and it ran at around 195-200 , which is 10-15 degrees cooler than the stock one .. next up.. I'll slap the electric fan on and see how it goes.. this is feeling more and more like a Fools Errand though .. maybe this is why I took about a year's break from working on the the project...!! ... hahaha !! Final video to come in a little while.
