How are you doing? I looked for you on RUclips just wanted to say thank you so much. My Jeep cherokee 2001kj 3.7litres was having cooling system failure and I flashed the cooling system a number of times but the problem continued. Tuesday nigh after watching your video then my attention moved to the radiator cup which I knew was in bad shape but I didn't know the importance of it being in good shape. Today I bought a new radiator cup and went for a test drive and the results were amazing, no boiling of coolant, engine no longer getting hotter than the normal temperature and no coolant coming out of the reservoir whenever I just stop or pack. Thanks to you my baby is back on the road. Continue with the same spirit. The radiator cup is almost $3 dollars here in Zambia just $3 dollars would have killed my baby and I would've spent more on the gasket
I had a cracked head, but didn't notice it, when I had the upper intake gasket go out on my 2002 Grand AM GT 3.4l V6. So I took everything apart and check that all clearances we still within standards. I missed a small crack between the valves. So when driving the car, everything seemed fine until I would step on the gas hard. Then I would noticed bubbling in the cooling system. It would leak off a little throught the overflow tube. But granny driving was fine around town. When I decided to pull each spark plug, one was stuck. It stripped the thread when took it out. So when I pulled that head, I was able to see it, now that it was bad. So I changed the head, put it all together, then it was noisy, knocking sound, until it warms up. Wasn't exactly sure what was causing the knock now. Thought something happened to cause rod bearings to wear out, so when I was replacing those, I noticed when that cylinder was at top dead center, it would clunk to the side. It seems the time driving it and it kept trying to over heat only when stepping on it at full throttle, must have caused the one to wear out more, when it would keep getting heated up. So I now have piston slap on that cylinder. The original upper intake gasket on that GM 3.4l V6 is a terrible design. The replacement one has metal spacers, to prevent the gasket from being crushed too much, during installation. The one that failed was just plastic with the silicone seal bead. I just wish I noticed the crack in the head when I had it all apart. Lesson learned.
The coolant on my 1964 ford econoline overflows via the tube attached to the radiator cap after or once I turn the engine off. While running it doesn't leak and the engine does not overheat. It is not leaking from radiator, hoses, or any other place. I don't believe it could be head gasket because the engine has been rebuilt. I did recently change out the radiator cap, need to know if that's what is causing to overflow? Appreciate any response and/or information you provide.
You sort it after ? I have overflow issues yet garage done all testing hg was done months ago very odd ..it did recently overheat again or at least coolant temp was high
I've got the weirdest car, not long after buying it I noticed the Coolant expansion chamber was way below minimum so topped it up assuming the previous owner just hadnt done it in a while, checked it again two weeks ater and same thing so topped it up again, after that I checked almost every day. Never had any leaks, no warning lights, no overheating or anything, no signs other than the visual check with missing coolant. Then not long after the 2nd top up it started to show some leaks/drips under the car, nothing major just very light loss. Kept topping up and keeping eye on it until eventually taking it to garage who diagnosed a crack in thermostat housing, they said it was common on the age and model of vehicle I have (2012 citroen DS3) they also said some work had been down around this area as parts were new and mustve had work done recently. Again a month or so later from fixing small leaks like before but not very much, very very light patch.on driveway every so often, usually after a longish drive leaving car overnight id notice a small patch, nothing like before and nowhere near the coolant loss as before. Because of these issues I've been obsessively checking the coolant level and today noticed it had risen to over the max line? Despite as I say the odd drip i expected it to go down slightly, I released the cap slowly expecting a slight rise as sometimes happens when releasing the pressure out the chamber but the level just kept rising to the point where its running out the top onto the floor. I've topped it up twice with approx 500ml of coolant since having it fixed around 6 weeks ago but haven't needed to the past couple weeks as its been consistently on the max. It's making me think are the levels even consistent when I'm checking it, is it not regulating properly and perhaps when I've thought it needed coolant maybe it didn't? I've not seen it like that ever rising up and out the top. Needless to say I've soaked the excess out with a cloth for now. What could this be?
Potentially an air pocket traped in the system could cause irregular coolant levels, but to be safe, do a hydrocarbon test to see if you're getting exhaust gasses in your cooling system. The tester is relatively inexpensive. If you are, it could be a sign of a blown head gasket.
@midwestfatass coolant has been drained and replaced several times recently could there still be an air pocket there, new water pump was recommended and replaced along with a new thermostat housing where they said it original leaked via a crack, but this problem is still there slightly, I'm sure these mechanics just change things for the sake of it
@campcop9214 if the shop isn't versed on bleeding procedures, the problem could remain. I would, however, do a head gasket leak test as soon as possible. The kit to test it is around 30 bucks, and it's very diy. Super simple. Then at least you can be confident in the health of your engine. Look up testing head gasket on youtube.

The bleeding pressure on my cat however is rev with cap on and up to temp to 2500 revs for 5 minutes then 3000 revs for 5 seconds and of it needs topping up repeat procedure once topped up. . I had a dash coolant temp high warning recently..I know air pockets can also cause this . The garage said they've done all checks etc inc hg checks . Obvs that's their word. They do have a good rep . It's odd. I'll ask them if cap is genuine etc . I just wanted to get some good use from car as I'm not in a position to buy another . Its had new timing chain skim & pressure test intake clean lifters rickers turbo so if I can sort the issue I'd have a good functioning vehicle . That wouod likeky last some time

My coolant ends up all in the expansion tank, I’ve tried everything and I’m down to two things, bad water pump or head gasket. 2010 Infiniti fx35 taking it to the shop this week. Not planning on getting a new car so I may end up with a hefty bill.
You get it s9rted after ? I had hg done but still had coolant getting into ex. Tank and over engine . It dies go back in once cooled very odd
@@kevinhancock4064 My HG, water pump timing chain and all other gaskets have been changed.... car isrunning like new, the only thing i've noticed now is that when i picked up the car 200 miles ago, the coolant in the ex tank was at max, now its in between min and max. i was told that there may be air in the system to just top off the expansion tank... idont have any signs of coolant leak anywhere. If you got your HG replace, make sure you get a new Radiator cap. that may the culprit. Make sure its an infiniti one as well. they're pretty inexpensive part.
@David Tufino Photography when you say infinit you mean oe/genuine yes ? Sounds similar to all that I've had done .I was gonna get car today but get it Monday. Its had a new cap which initially they thought it was the issue . That wouod likeky last some time
@David Tufino Photography one thing I do have here only to rule out the smallest of leaks if any . Is dye I used ot on my last vehicle for confirm (found already ) my therm. Housing gasket leak . Cost me 7 quid and coolant to fix .
Mine just leaks on the ground.... a mechanic really messed my car up
Wow Honda dealership people so bad 😅
You failed to answer your own question
were you having a full blown anxiety attack while filming this?
Do you live with anxiety leading to bizarre comments that make no sense?

TALKING TO FAST
I also overheated the engine I checked the heads polished them they all checked I replaced the gaskets but the engine still trots when pushing on the gas pedal antifreeze throws out of the radiator what do I do how to find a leakage
I can't really understand what your saying
speak slower :)
