I had the privilege to spend a couple of hours in Ted's company in late 1991.
At the end of a 4 month trip across the states, I stopped at Venice beach for a couple of days. One morning walking the boardwalk I heard a voice, I immediately knew who it was as I was already a big fan, and had a couple of his albums back home in England.
I spent the next 2 hours sitting next to him and chatting between songs.
He was a genial guy with an amazing voice.

One of his stretches in jail was for “child molestation”? I saw him live in Glasgow in mid eighties He told me he was not a fan of Prince.

Beautiful! First saw him late 80s supporting Billy Bragg, then many times in his own right after that. He had the most incredible voice and listening to him now takes me back to that time. Thank you for uploading - can never tire of listening to Ted!

Some things aren't the perfection we think is needed. Instead they are rough at the edges but just magical. And so it is with the first track here. Play it when you can sit back and close your eyes. Pure magic.

Back in the day Tower Records had listening stations in the store where you could sample new releases. This is where I discovered Ted (The Next 100 Years) and others. I thought of him as a tragic figure, dyeing just as he was getting some major label success, so I'm happy to find that he had a loyal fan base going back into "the previous 100 years."
