    That #11 should be retired along with 12 and 87.

      Only 12 should be retired. Edelman was a very good receiver and that’s it. Clutch in crucial moments, I’ll give you that.

      12 and 87 yes because I don’t care where they are playing the shadow on those numbers too big imagine if a corner back got 12

    I love when Julian said, 'I needed that, I was a punk.' A father knew his son, and the results cannot be argued. Good on you Poppa Edelman, and Julian for acknowledging that it worked.

    This is awesome. My dad was the same
    All he knew was tough tough love and that’s how he showed his love to me.

    I had issues with expressing my anger physically with my father as a kid. If he had punched me in the face during those bouts of anger, I would be a mental case right now probably serving prison time.
    Edelman turned out well because of the positive traits his father instilled in him, not because his dad clocked him at 13 during an adolescent fit of rage.
    So many kids I knew in high school had fathers with that kind of attitude as a kid and they are now angry screw ups. For every Julian Edelman, there’s 100,000 angry alcoholic jerks with daddy issues out there.

    For the people thinking "you know, his dad didnt need to be that tough on him". And maybe you're right, but Julian "didnt need to" play in the NFL either as an undersized WR.
    Pressure and stress creates diamonds.

    My father would wake up around 10-11am on a Day off in a bad mood... You knew not to speak to him for the first hour at least.
    Then my dad would proceed to drink Rum/Coke, smoke herb, cigs and snort blow for the next 12-14 hours.... He's mention going to the Park to for baseball/hoops, but that would rarely happen. ( We lived around the corner from the Park )
    Edelman's coach and dad seem cool tho

    • @r0gers96
      @r0gers96 Год назад

      Nah your just retarded. This is how u make kids warriors.. and understand the gratifications of failure and how it can be used against another. The kid was old enough to hold his own… the father needs to reassure power to his son. This is life if a kid thinks he has power over his father than all hell breaks loose. This is why ur sitting on a couch doing nothing with ur life while this guy made millions by relentless determination due to grit

      For real. Wasn’t really a funny story. The dude threw at his own kid then gave him a Nolan Ryan-style beating on the mound.

    • @MuckG
      @MuckG Год назад +46

      Not even close to domestic violence. He didn’t beat the kid everyday, he didn’t make him feel less, he taught him a lesson. You want to charge the big dawg, you get bit. This is something these generations nowadays lack. If you look at their relationship now it shows you that it worked.

    MAGA and right wing Christians have forgotten that being tough on a kid, and abusing a kid, these are two different things, and you'll get two very different results.
