    What year was this Ioniq5? I thought that the lower USB port was a USB-C (for fast charging)? Also, can you attach the phone to either of the center console plugs as well, or it has to be that inconvenient lower USB port? Seems like any long wire could get in the way of feet/pedals there, or just be an eyesore. Still can't believe this car doesn't have Wireless Carplay yet like most Subarus have it. Kind of a deal breaker after you have it, especially if you use it almost every day for short periods like I do. Inclined to wait a year or two for the Ioniq to get wireless and a rear wiper!

      Believe this one was a 2022 model. The one in this video only had a single USB A port next to the 12V powerpoint... For other manufacturers either port can generally be used though..
      It's an odd choice on Hyundai's part to not have wireless CarPlay and Android Auto standard. Some of the lower trims of some of their vehicles have it standard but once you get into the nicer screens with factory navigation it's only a wired connection. Bizarre

    Can you change the background image on the CarPlay screen? Thanks.

      Haven't had a chance to use the BlueLink app yet during any of my reviews. It involves activating a sold vehicle so not a piece that I can review at this point

    The better question is why doesn’t this car have wireless CarPlay

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Год назад +2

      That is the right question. My guess is that Hyundai was sitting on millions of these screens so I'm hoping that the next gen system introduces wireless

    Bloody hell mate, 9mins to explain connecting phone! best to practice it in your own time and then explain. I watched it but just saying for next person!

      Just because you don't need more than an explanation to plug in a USB cable doesn't mean everyone is the same way.... Some people need full instructions how to do it and I show how to navigate through different phone apps, re-arrange icons etc.
