Good review. Thanks. I bought a brushless one the other day. I needed a miter saw that would fit under my tonneau cover and was light.

I didn’t know they had a brushless version I’ll have to check that out

They only offer the 12 inch in brushless.

Nice overview, thanks for taking the time to post it.
I’m considering this saw - most of my work will be outdoor using pressure treated (at least for now). Older woman with weak arms, lol. I have a circular saw but wondered if this investment would help me make consistent, repeatable cuts on 2x4 and 1x6 to save time. My circular saw is older and quite heavy to use all day.
Comparing against a 10” brushless motor 18v Ryobi (I’m not a contractor so don’t need super duty). Seems like the smaller blade Dewalt will do all I need.

It would definitely help make repeatable cuts and is nice because it’s small and light . I’m personally not a big fan of ryobi but they are cost effective and do the job they just don’t stand up to the abuse a full time contractor puts them through

I got mine for years! I love it, but I find it kind of slow sometimes. Also I have a 24v 7 1/4 sliding dual bevel Kobalt and it is awesome! The cut capacity is much longer than the Dewalt. But the saw is a little bit bigger. Do you also find that your miter saw loses a little power with some cuts?

I thinks some of the power loss might depend on what battery your using I do find in some materials it may be underpowered a bit but i think having a flex volt battery in it helps

@@kinfolk_carpentry Not really! I use mine with an 8ah battery and the result is the same. 😟

I’ve always felt that this dewalt 7 1/4” mitre saw needs an upgrade

I would agree, mine feels like it struggles occasionally when making cuts. Overall though I'm happy with it, much better for lugging around to jobs than my corded Hitachi
