Please add maps to your videos. That would be so much better to see where the soldier is during his diary entries.

At the end of the war, the western allies captured almost all of the German division, regimental & army war diaries. They're available at the US National Archives in the original German. They also have a series of German large scale, high resolution Situation maps of the Soviet Union from June 1941 to December 1941 that are downloadable. These maps show the daily position of every German division up to December 31, 1941.

The Limeys love to claim that their kill claims are way off though, it's laughable to hear them go on about WW2, in reality they were the slimy little fucking rat of the big 3.

My father was there. Army group center. 3rd Panzer group. Communications rode in half track probe unit. Reading this is sooooo accurate!! Everything he wrote about was exactly as My dad described. They fought not only the Russians(who by the way they were scared SHITLESS of) but the weather. The mud! Supply lines. They were constantly folded into different units to maintain strength as units died off. Some commanders were decent. Some not so. Their equipment for this kind of fighting was inadequate... There were NO good days!! It was awful and how my father got out of there, made it to america and had us kids...amazing!!

Thanks for sharing these videos which give a real insight into the daily struggles of war. September not over and he mentions how they need winter clothing already. I wonder if he lived long enough to feel the full impact of the Russian winter and still no winter clothing apart from officers, of course!

Oh no, not another of these amateurish operated history channels. You have the freedom and the right to do that. No question. But, please: The only thing I am asking for is transparency. I would strongly urge that this channel is reclassified into the category "fiction" or "comedy". I am sure that this would create a win-win-situation for everybody. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

In 1938 the top guy in the quartermaster corps was assigned to do a study on how far German forces could penetrate in the USSR. The answer was 600 km. By 1941 it was undoubtedly farther, but not my much. So the top generals had the facts. They chose to ignore them.

Yes, because capture of diaries could reveal tactics, strategy, strengths and weaknesses, troop levels, weaponry, morale, etc.
