the longest day is based on a book and on real facts and surely not was a cheap movie if you search realism better you get a look at some russian and belaruss movies. one of these is "idi i smotri". is not for all.

Now since it was a Black and White movie, red fake blood couldn't be used and black fake blood was used. Richard Todd was offered the chance to play himself in the movie, but instead played Lord Lovat. A lot of actors served during the war, but John Wayne decided to fight his was on a sound stage.

If anyone is interested in the name of the movie it is Brother's War in 2009. A good follow up could be Battle of Castle Itter where the Wehrmacht, American and French Armies fight against the SS.
I find this kind of film almost amusing. The point always seems to be that the nazis were really quite nice chaps once you got the chance to know them. Of course, the problem was how to survive your first meeting with them in order to find that out. Millions of people never got that far.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger. - Hermann Göring Japan in WW2, Soviet gulags, Chinese cultural revolution, Cabodia under khmer rouge..all examples of how normal people coul dbe turned into animals. Even US soldiers in Vietnam showed the same...especialy in places like My Lai 4. And more recently we had callls in the West for internmet of people who didn't take experimental jabs. Heck, here in Australia they even built camps. Lulkciy they were would down at an early stage Serves as an eample how easliy people got duped and became hateful, paranoid and hysterical.

It is one of the wurst (yeast intended joke) I’ve seen. The director ought to have told the actors that always facing the camera is old school. The acting was as wooden as my cricket bat. It lacked any dynamism as though they were low on batteries. And the captions didn’t match the dialog largely.

Productions with a much smaller budget look much better. Is it so difficult to consult this with a person who has even the slightest knowledge about World War II?
