    Do you need the heater to be on if you're in a hot environment? Do you need water?

      It’s one of those things where the choice is individual. If it’s already warm or hot and humid where you are sleeping you may not need any heat or water. But it’s an individual choice. When I travel to humid locations like Florida I still use humidity myself.

    with humidity turned off and using non heated tube , is water still being used to keep air moist as not to dry out nose ??
    i do not have air cond. rely on fans , the air has been too hot to inhale , can i use cool water and non heated tube , turn off humidity and still be comfortable??

      @@pscfoss6711 if the humidity is turned off and you use a standard hose, the airflow won’t pick up much humidity. It’s called blow-over humidity. It’ll make the air slightly more humid from evaporation. It’s better than nothing, but how comfortable it will make you we wouldn’t know until you tried it. I do have some patients who use their CPAP machines this way and are comfortable with it and I’ve had others try and they felt too dry and turned the humidity back on.

      @@thecpapguy if i turn the humidity to 1-3 , use cool water , and standard hose will this put some moisture in the air? i'm finding the air too warm to be uncomfortable, would it be better to use the heated hose and low humidity. thanks for your help. i'm new to this , only 1 mo

      @@pscfoss6711 yes if you put the humidity to a 1-3 that will create some light humidity and make it a little more comfortable. The standard hose should work with the settings that low and not get water build up in the hose during the night. I would try that and see how it goes. If you start with 2 or 3 and do see quite a bit of water in the hose by morning I would turn it down 1 level and try again. If there’s no real water build up or it’s just a few droplets here and there I wouldn’t worry about that. There’s a lot of trial and error with getting these things right sometimes.

    If you set the tube at 60 degrees, is it cooling room temp air which is 70?

    • @thecpapguy
      @thecpapguy  6 месяцев назад +2

      No the machine can only “heat up” to a certain temperature. So if you set it to 60 and the room is 70 it will just maintain room temperature. If the room is 60 and you set it for 70 it will warm up to 70 deg.

    Can y use this with no heat and water in it

      Yes it is ok to turn off the heater and still put water in the chamber. You’ll get a little blow-over humidity so I find it better than nothing.

    i need to finish drying the hose of water droplets before using tonight. How do I do this?

    • @thecpapguy
      @thecpapguy  10 месяцев назад

      It’s not easy to completely dry the hose out. Small droplets will not harm or affect anything. Once you start running the cpap the ribs in the hose should trap the smaller droplets and the air pressure will dry them out pretty quick. So you could use the cpap with some small droplets left behind.
      You could also attach the hose, then turn the machine pressure on and then back off quickly to start the drying cycle for the hose (a small breeze of air that flows through the hose, which lasts 30 minutes). This might finish drying the hose out on the inside for you.

    You need to buy a tripod. You have the shakes.

    I’m sure there is a mystery with the water , I went to pick up mine and the guy told me you can use it without water and then I asked later to confirm and he said no.

    • @thecpapguy
      @thecpapguy  4 месяца назад

      It’s recommended, but not required. I have many patients who don’t feel like they need the humidity and do well without it. I also use CPAP and want the humidity myself. So it’s very much optional.
