As someone who tried this mindset in school ("maybe if I'm random I won't be bullied and I might find a gf"), I'm now having to rebuild my notion of personality and undo a lot of rather silly (if not outright creepy AF) habits. The entitlement, the thirst for validation and how openly I showed my loneliness all crippled me socially (especially when trying to make friends). It messed up my self esteem and left me feeling like I was farmed for the other person's clout. I started going to therapy, taking my meds and studying stoicism. It's been a few years, but I'm happier now that I'm undoing some of the more... Egregious habits and reflexes. I.e., following any of this program is not worth it and will isolate you from the very people you are trying to grow closer with.

I grew up without a father or father figure. I was obese and bullied in school and to learn some much needed life skills I got fit and joined the military which had an even worse culture where I was also bullied. My Mum raised me to be myself and so that's what ive done my entire life, through school, through the military and even now with business. I never had the desire to make myself appear better than I was, I only want to improve and learn so that I may help others do the same. Sadly not many people appreciate a mentality like this but those few who do is all I really care about. Ive known many people from many backgrounds with many skills and attributes that can be quite amazing but there's only one real deal 100% authentic me and nobody will ever be able to match that. I have big dreams, a big heart, im goofey and romantic. I am the opposite of the dating culture but it seems to work for me. Just be yourself and if nobody likes that then surround yourself with people who are receptive to your natural character. As someone who tried this mindset in school ("maybe if I'm random I won't be bullied and I might find a gf"), I'm now having to rebuild my notion of personality and undo a lot of rather silly (if not outright creepy AF) habits.
The entitlement, the thirst for validation and how openly I showed my loneliness all crippled me socially (especially when trying to make friends).
It messed up my self esteem and left me feeling like I was farmed for the other person's clout. I started going to therapy, taking my meds and studying stoicism. It's been a few years, but I'm happier now that I'm undoing some of the more... Egregious habits and reflexes.

I grew up without a father or father figure. I was obese and bullied in school and to learn some much needed life skills I got fit and joined the military which had an even worse culture where I was also bullied. Ive known many people from many backgrounds with many skills and attributes that can be quite amazing but there's only one real deal 100% authentic me and nobody will ever be able to match that. I have big dreams, a big heart, im goofey and romantic. I am the opposite of the dating culture but it seems to work for me. Just be yourself and if nobody likes that then surround yourself with people who are receptive to your natural character.
