I have this smae issue, the boiler is slightly different but very similar. Do you advise me doing it myself? I know i will be removing gas bits but using my common sense and experience i think i can do it without major issue and with your video helping.
To be honest. I wouldn't personally do this job if I wasn't gas safe and had a flue gas analyser. I can't stop you from doing it though. I would do this job for £100 and include all the safety checks that aren't on the video including checking for any gas leaks, checking the working gas pressure at the meter etc etc. I don't think saving £100 is worth doing it yourself. Just my opinion...be careful
@northwestgascertificates took your advice and called a "professional"! Had a second look at my boiler and there is a shelf dividing the bottom of the sump and the other components, everything else is the same from what i can see. Was also advised by other people that yes it is not a easy job the whole boiler needs to come apart basically, so too many gas bits for me to feel safe messing with. Used one of these apps to find a trader and posted the job with a clear picture of the boiler inviting 10 different local companies to do the job and only got a reply from one. Long story short quoted £130 and said it should be a 30 min job or so, he did it before he said. Ended up taking 4.5 hours of huffing and puffing hammering prying pushing and pulling bending the fuck of that dividing shelf under the sump and breaking its rivets and in the end the boiler never worked again and i gained 2 more water leaks! No not a joke, just a guy and its family without a boiler and not much to hold on to and i suspect it will never work again! F M L
Nice straight forward explanation video.. nice
Great content.
Nice video, do you have to loosen the screws on heat exchanger.
It definitely does help. You might manage without loosening them...
