You are a good mom! I haven’t fermented anything yet so I don’t know but all my kids are grown and gone so I don’t have to worry about them. Thanks for participating in this collaboration.
Very interesting! I wouldn't have thought to dehydrate it and doing it at a lower temperature to protect the good bacteria. Sounds like a wonderful way of making it last even longer. Thank you for sharing and being in the collaboration!
You guys are blowing my mind with all your ideas. I had no idea that you could dehydrate your ferments. Wow! What an amazing month of varied techniques and products. Dehydration is so popular right now. I'm doing good to be canning.~Ha! Thanks Gals for all your knowledge.
You have taught me a lot about kimchi and how to preserve it by dehydrating. I'm not a kimchi lover either, but like you, my kids love it. Thanks for your participation in Fermented February 2024.
Blessings Darcy from sunny Chicago. I dehydrated a collard green kim chi that I bought at the farmer's markt. I took it back to the vendor to taste. It makes a great snack. I also use the powder.❤❤
You have such wonderful ideas. I would never had thought to dehydrate kimchee. My Korean neighbor used to make gallons of Kimchee for their restaurant. It was the greatest I have ever had. Thanks for being a part of the collaboration. I refer you to all of my friends as a great teacher who I trust to teach safely!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Darcy for being part of this collaboration. Never thought of dehydrating already made ferments. Heidi uses dehydrated foods to make fermented but this is the opposite.
I do the same thing with carmelized onions. I seem to have more onions than we can consume fresh so I carmelize them then dehydrate them. I add the pwdered onions to anything to add the flavor. I even add a tablespoon of powder to my Balsamic vinegar jar
I am learning so much from these videos for when I start fermenting. Right now it’s just watch and learn. Thank you for your knowledge. You are a good mom also. I’m getting ready to send my son apple butter I made.
Hey, this is our second dehydrated kimchi video! ...but at different points for both. What a great idea! I love the idea of making a "spice"! It's amazing what we are happy to do for our kiddos! 😊 Thanks for being a part of Fermented February!
You are a good mom and taught that son right! haha Thank you for the reminder on temps so that we don't kill all the good stuff in there! I never thought of dehydrating it, but thank God for you Darcy, you always have our back. Sometimes we all forget the basics on what is or ISN"T in a jar that we didn't make. I so appreciate that you share all of your valuable knowledge!
I know about the taste change during pregnancy. That was 37 years ago. But just last year I found out about how healthy it is to eat fermented food. The first month I started eating fermented food I lost 12 pounds. I thought that canned sourkraut was a fermented food. I didn't like sourkraut. It was to sour. It locked my jaws. Now I know better. I love fermented food. Kombucha, carrots and cranberries are my favorite. I eat the cranberries like popcorn. I'll have to buy extra this fall when they go on sale.
I love kimchee but I hate making it lol. I'm always making a mess when I dehydrate... must be a prerequisite. Now you gave me inspiration. You suggested your video on dehydratated salsa so I will be dehydrating my fermented salsa when it's ready!
Darcy thank you so much for this video! I love love kimchi ❤ i loved the demonstration of his kimchi with noodles! I enjoy all your videos! I love ferments. Thank you for the low temp tip. I will be doing this soon ❤
Thank you Darcy! We are going to be getting a new dehydrator soon, and it’s so exciting to see that there are more ways to keep my fermented things shelf stable for even longer! So thank you so much for being part of this collaboration. And thank you to Anna for hosting!
I have never had kimchi but my husband says he hates it so chances are slim I will make it. What I really want to thank you for in this video is the information on dehydrating ferments. I was wondering if I could consume all the things I want to make, now I know I can dehydrate them and enjoy them all. Thank You for the video and for opening a new door for me.
Cabbage Kimchi is really just sweet and spicy saurkraut. I mean basically. The flavors are more complex though. If you like saurkraut and sweet and spicy, you could just ferment a cup or two just to give it a try. ☺
Thanks Darci! You do an amazing job of teaching! It was fun having you participate in fermentedfebruary2024! I don't care for kimchi either but am developing my taste for other fermented things. Always learning - your knowledge of dehydrating is amazing!
Your ARE a good mom! Sometimes I wonder if my kids realize that. Liked the info about dehydrating ferments in order to keep their integrity of gut boosting benefits.
Thank you Darcy. I’ve really enjoyed Fermented February and this is one of my favourites because it is a reminder to make more use of my dehydrator. 🇦🇺

Thank you for your video on dehydrating ferments. I never thought of doing this but who knows what I could dehydrate in the future. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration.
Thank you for this great demo and idea. I love kimchi but we can never finish the jars in time. I'll move my dehydrator out to the barn and try this! what a wonderful mother you are!
Thank-you for sharing, I am glad to hear there are a lot of us who do not like Kimchi, the thought of dehydrating it and then making a powder might be possible, just for an add punch to some foods. So Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
