Born in 79. Mom from the OKC area and dads family all in Lincoln NE. Boomer Sooner all the way for me. I was so happy to see this game back on the schedule.
That was a brutal game. OU always seems to bring out the best in the Huskers. Looking forward to our trip to Lincoln this fall. Always great respect for Nebraska. Boomer Sooner!
We bring out the best in the Sooners, as well. Sooner Magic legends were born in this rivalry. NU has seen it more than anybody else. It's never been an ugly rivalry. Mutual respect is the thing.
Nebraska’s bad should have traveled to the game. But I am looking forward to going to my first away football game next year in Lincoln. Can’t wait to see this rivalry in person. Always had a lot of respect for Nebraska.
2 made, not missed FGs and a made, not blocked PAT = 7 more pts for NU. Which also means -2 for OU due to no PAT run back. NU wins 23-21. Special teams matters! We need OU on our schedule every year! GBR! Sooners are getting close to another Natty!
4 penalities on the opening drive by the oline. Cost Nebraska 30 yards. Martinez threw behind a wide open Austin Allen he stumbles costing Nebraska yards. Later in the game Martinez over throws him in the endzone. It ain't just the special teams.
If you give Nebraska their two field goals back as made plus their extra point made, you gotta give OU their FG missed to them as well. Would’ve been 24-23 still. 😢 Looking forward to seeing what all these transfers will do for us this year. GBR!
@@drewegnoske1597 Yeah but if Martinez doesn't over throw a 6'7 TE in the end zone he doesn't throw the pick on the next play everything else plays out the last 9 minutes you assume it's at least tied... Maybe frost goes for 2 somewhere along the way....
@@mattm402 Good point. That’s a good possibility. Definitely glad Martinez is gone. Frost was too loyal to him. Now we have some dudes that will compete with each other and make each other better at that position. Trying not to get overhyped for the season but the new coaches and players added this off-season are making that hard to do!
I absolutely love the personal foul call against Jergens at 2:20 in the first quarter. I don't know what's funnier, the fact that the last contact occurred right at the whistle, or the fact that the announcer says "first he hit him and then he went after him" when trying to explain the call. Ummmmmmm. Ok?!? No big deal though. It's not like the call killed a potential TD drive. Oh wait ...
I thought the game was closer than this. Nebraska looked awful and Oklahoma totally outplayed them. Martinez was his usual disaster. The "O" line made so many mistakes. When OU ran the ball, it was 8 yards before the runner was touched. Kick game was terrible. And completely outcoached, as usual. So in other words, just a typical Nebraska game in the Frost era.

Can't wait! I wish we could play you guys every year. Go Big Red!

Never underestimate the Huskers ability to self-destruct through undisciplined penalties, special teams implosions, and clutch time turnovers.
Scott Frost special
Iowa just called worried sick about you two turnips!
You have no idea how right you were. This could describe nearly every loss in 2023 as well
Iowa develops their talent, DONU squanders theirs.

Let's hope for another classic! Hopefully you have a good time in Lincoln (but not as good as ours)!
I was there. What an experience.
22:03 In the left corner.
This is what we need to see Omar do more often, sure hope that happens this season!
The day Conner Culp went mental, and never returned.

well one of those FG's was a 50 yarder....

Nebraska let's goooooo 💪
36:23 Unreal.
Look at the difference of a Tbow ran team compared to the next yrs team by BV against Neb, night and day
Nebraska would've won the game if they had a kicker worth a scholarship, I don't understand how Culp is on a roster at the college level
We’ll always have Fuhrman!
I miss Martinez
Michigan State beat Martinez and Nebraska in 2021
