Thank you! I had one with the rubber "tire" slipping on the metal "wheel", causing my scrolling to work only some of the time. I'm impressed by how this thing is assembled so that it can be worked on. You cured the handicap I've been living with for a long time. I love you, man!! lol
An excellent guide. Fixed my problem. Thank you, sir. As an addendum to any viewers, when removing the pads, do not attempt to scratch them up with your nail, as this will damage this outer layer. I used a narrow screwdriver to hook in under the corner of the pads and peel them upwards.
If you have the updated glaive the mouse buttons are on the scrollwheel board, so you wont have to take off the side buttons which will make it easier. Also if you need to access the main board you will have to unscrew the silver screw between the side buttons then you can just wiggle the green board up. The only issue I had was that the copper bar had popped out and it was a pain to get it back correctly, but it did fix my issue.
Hello, Red Moose. I have no labor skills of my own and this has been so hard. Seventy two hours of upset. But I have managed to disassemble my glaive mouse, open the switch cabinet, perform the fix on the contact leaf, close the cabinet, reconnect and reassemble everything, and realize a fixed mouse all on my own. It is so unlike me but I want my pricey device to fulfill a long life. I appreciate the things I have and will not simply purchase a new device as a means of convenience to solve the issue.
I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting this to work at all, but it did and it saved me $70! DO exactly what he does in the video and you're golden. It fixed the problem I had where when I would click and hold, the mouse would just stop registering the click, or when I click once it would double click. It also makes the physical click sound much quieter and more soft feeling which is an unexpected bonus!
Your 3 years old video saved my glaive... it took 3 hours to make everything worked.... had trouble with wrong reset button placement and got scroll problems... but it finally solved! thanks Red Moose! God bless you! \m/
Thanks a ton for this tutorial. I was also having the double click issue and this saved me having to buy a new mouse. For anyone wondering, the hardest part for me was reattaching the clamshell. It took me like 20 minutes to finally get it on.
This. A trick I found was to keep pushing forward with one hand, while the other is pressing the middle bit down while also moving the back clips into place.
I almost had it. I saw this video twice and once more following your instructions one by one. I finally got to bend that piece of metal... Carefully, with a toothpick. Still to straight, I should bend it a little bit more... A little bit more... and then one of the ends of the piece of metal broke and the top layer fell onto the table 😨 It hurts arriving so far and ending with a fistful of feathers. Thank you for your tutorial, it's great finding people dedicated to help others in such specific matters.
Thanks for this! I have a Corsair Longsword instead of a Glaive, but you showing me that the cover screws are under the rubber pads was what I needed to know to get to my middle mouse click contact and clean it with some rubbing alcohol.
Brilliant guide, thanks so much. The middle mouse button on my Glaive was seemingly dead, and not wanting to buy a new one without first trying to fix it I came across your video. Turns out I had a load of dog hair stuck between the switch and the mouse wheel axle. Thanks again, very easy to follow guide, works perfectly.
What an excellent video! I love fixing things myself and I appreciate your step by step description as well as the "watch out for" details that you mentioned.
oldie but goodie! i was wandering around looking for info on replacing the usb cord originally. i have 2 corsair glaive mice that weren't working. the original had a bad left click button, the second had a bad usb cable. i watched your video to work on the one with the bad button but soon realized that the usb cable was just plugged in not hardwired like so much stuff is. I went with the cable swap which avoided the main mobo bring removed, and everything is great now. so much was laid out by you, i was able to do this MUCH faster than from "scratch". thanks again! if the buttons on this one go bad i know where to go next time ;)
Good guide. I was having issues with the middle click registering, seems like all I had to do was open it up and clean the gunk off the button from the inside. Getting the cover back on was the hardest part.
On the first day of using my Corsair Glaive mouse, there was something loose inside it, and after swinging a lot, strangely a bolt dropped out, I didn't know where it had come from. When the double click problem started, I decided to watch your video and after disassembling it all found the place where the screw belonged, that is, two problems solved with one blow. Thank you.
2 long hours without my mouse and lots of stress. Geez that was a really nervous one for me. Thanks much for you video and all these little explanations. You are great!
This helped me fix an issue where the rubber "tire" on the wheel was just spinning around the "rim". I was having trouble getting this mouse apart to fix it. BTW, the final fix was an alcohol cleaning and a single layer of duct tape around the bottom of the "rim."
u rock dude! i just had to get past the cover removal, and i was baffled till i watched this video. But that's as far as I went, I just spritzed off the wheel and cleaned, and all my problems were washed away. thx!!!! ps. for anyone brave enough to go further, my hat is off to ya!
I had a bigger problem, seems like my switch is too weak now, I think I just need to click more gently, but the tuto is very handy !!!! Thanks so much !!!
i know this video is like 4 years old now but thanks for saving my glaive... i mean i really love this mouse man and it has like many memories and momentos and the first really good mouse i bought... and to have to buy a new one is just so so so so so sad.... i owe you one bud...
So far I've tested through 400 clicks and none have doubleclicked. Thank you so much! I had an issue where the little golden piece of the clicking mechanism fell off, and at first i thought it broke. However I opened the casing to my right-click and looked at how it was attatched. I was able to reconnect it. Thank you
Started having the double clicking problem about a week ago, and following this guide completely got rid of any sign of the problem, works great. Thanks!
god your video was a lifesaver. if only I wasn't an idiot and slightly screwed up the rubber pads, I can't tell if it glides on my mousepad less smooth or I'm just insane from working on my mouse for two hours, thank you red moose
Thanks for the disassembly guide. After 3.3 years of use my Glaive started occasionally double clicking, mostly when pressed from bottom right of the button. Broke other one of the magnets in half when they slammed against each other. Half a magnet on the other side is still plenty enough. When I got to the main board screws I noticed they require smaller tip screwdriver which I don't have... Didn't get further than that. How ever then noticed that my problem might be a bit different. The "hammer" pressing the switch had worn a groove into it. Also the black middle part was deeper than on the other one. I added two layers of tape on to the top of the "hammer". Seems to have fixed it. Button clicks the same no matter how I press it.
on the fence of just outright buying another one since ive had this one for a while now (replaced my first one because the thumb buttons stopped working) Thanks to you though, now i can keep this around for a while longer and hold off getting a replacement! Preciate it mate!
6:48 Just some random information: I didn't do it with this one (yet) but i did do it with other mice which have the same switch. (as nearly all mice i guess) You can shorten the way the little metalthing travels and thus make the click more silent and lighter. You'll have lower resistance basically. I saw a video once where someone put a bit of paper in it to heighten the metalthing but i found out you can also just bend the hook which is on the right side in the video down carefully. This is better since the paper sometimes moves and you have to take the thing apart again. I made stupidly light resistances with this on my old mice but you can also lower it just a bit.
If you bend it to much, it might not give proper contact and cause double click issues (due to no proper contact). That is how I fix double clicking on these switches, by bendig this metal clip a little outward.
@@nopedandafafet186 Yes, it's a delicate proccess. But after you do it it stays the way it is. I'm using my bended light click mouse for some years now with no issues. Mainly did it to make them more silent.
Tysm, this helped me a lot to fix my double clicking mouse and I was searching a very long time and finally found one. When dissembling its like defusing a bomb. 😅
I used to take micro-switches apart to clean and adjust them, when I repaired office equipment. It was always, at best, a temporary solution. The replacement switches are usually pretty cheap, so if you can solder, the best thing to do is replace the switches. What you're really doing by bending the metal piece is moving the point of contact slightly, hopefully to an area that's less tarnished or burned.
WOW, it worked for me. I was'n't really convinced because I didn't see the metal thing really bend and despite my effort it still didn't look bend but after testing, it worked. Thanks a lot. No more random double-clicks. EDIt : Never mind, it still has that problem.
thanks man. i hope this fix is permanent cause the process is a pain in the ass. hardest thing was pulling out the side keys and reassempling the case :)
Thank you man ! Yesterday my middle click was faulty, i just opened my glaive and clean the connector and it worked again ! I was already looking for a new one but it was just some dust in the mouse.
Thank you for this guide. I have a Glaive PRO that was a warranty replacement but the middle click is really annoying because debris gets caught under it all the time stopping it from working. I like the mouse overall but that's a very annoying issue that pops up. Usually I can do the rapid click and shake trick, but this time it was fluff that wouldn't budge
extrodinary video man. I didnt know how to disassemble my Glaive, or that a simple fix like this worked. I've been dealing with this issue off and on getting ever more frequent for the past month. now it seems really nice
I have this exact same issue with the double clicking. Never had double clicking issues with any other mouse I've ever had, even cheap ones. Not sure what switches Corsair is using but they aren't good ones. Appreciate the video and hope this helps fix my issue too.
Dude that video safed me so much trouble and money! Thank you for this good tutorial and walkthrough! I only would like to add that if you feel comfortable disconnecting the leaf inside the button itself. Then use sandpaper on the two contacts. My mouse had a bit of oxidation on them so that can help as well! Anyway a nice video! Have a like!
Great video, thx for sharing. After one year of use the middle mousebutton failed. Thank you so much. My mouse wheel was rolling in place and this video helped me a lot. I guess the trickiest part is taking the side buttons off and reassembling the top part of the mouse hahah If someone has the same problem as me (the scroll rolling but not working), The rubber that was loose, not the wheel itself. So I just had to glue it to the wheel and it works fine now.
Thanks! You save me from a huge headache while trying to clea my glaive rgb, for the life of me I wouldn't figure out how to remove the top cover because because of the front clips.
You are a god dang life saver. Editing videos when you can’t grab and drag to delete sections was killinggg me. It was clicking off all the tabs and everything I hated it. This fixed it plus I had a loose scroll wheel so I just rubbed off the freeze grease in it and gave the little piece of rubber a good wash and now that thing is as responsive as the day I got it. Just a little note to everyone else when he says to bend it slightly do it only slightly. I went all hulk and flung the piece across the room and had to reattach it but hey it’s fixed and this turned my horrendous day around. Thanks bro
Thanks for the video! My scroll button is acting up and I can't hold my left mouse button down. While trying to bend the little copper thing I managed to flick it across the room. Man getting that back on was a pain!! But everything works now!
i cant even get the cover off im using so much strengh and doing as u did in the video and its just not giving at all can you help please idk what to do?
Had this problem for a while but the last week the mice has been unusable lol. Thanks for making the video on how to fix it, doesn't seem too complicated but I'm considering just getting a new mouse from another manufacturer. The Corsair mouse has just been a struggle all the way..
This is completely detailed tutorial. But unfortunately, my copper switch already broken when i open it. So, i decided to buy a new switch to replace it. Hope it works well
Thank you so much for the video, man. Might just save me from buying a new one. I will try this tomorrow but thank you in advance for your tips. Extremely helpful stuff.
Thinking of doing this since all the firmware updates doesn't fix what is certainly a mechanical issue and not software. Gonna try and get mine replaced first since it's still within warranty period and if all that doesn't work out, this vid will be useful.
Was following along and doing alright, but when I opened my switch up the little copper thing jumped out! Had an awful time trying to put it back in; I'm not sure what bending I ended up doing to it in the process, but my mouse doesn't seem to be double clicking at the moment. Though, the click in general has gone really quiet, rather than a nice clear click.
So i found my corsair Glaive in a flea market for 4$ or here in Denmark 20kr - I used it everyday for maybe 2 months now and suddenly it started double clicking, but also 50% of the button would not even work. First i like many others thought that is either was broken or maybe it was the software but i tried to follow the video and now the button works fine. My problems on the way - So the video is in pretty bad quality and his hands block a lot of the light, but its fine most of the way until the time when he show how to remove the side buttons, this was the hardest for me because nothing worked to get them out and i tired to press and pull everything and suddenly with A LOT of force they came out. But they were easy to put in back :) Well after i put it back, both my top buttons doesn't work to change the DPI and the light seems to be a bit dim. But maybe if i open it again and look it through i can probably fix it. But it works fine for me anyway thx for the video.
Very helpful vid, thank you! Unfortunately, I got the whole process done and the double-click is still happening about 25% of the time. Kind of afraid to bend that metal piece too much!
Good question, this happened to me the first time opening the switch, and I almost covered it in the video. If you look very closely, you will see notches that the metal will rest in. Just tinker with the metal piece until it is resting in the notches, it will only fit in one orientation. Be careful not to bend that metal piece though, just be patient and use your fingers. Good luck!
I had the same thing happen, I tucked the end closest to the inside of the mouse (where the actual click happens) in first, then rested it over the top, then i took my nail and pulled it back over the other side (closest to the front of the mouse) then lifted the little bent bit in the center until it stuck. If you are having trouble, open the casing to the right click and look at how that is put on. Don't worry, no parts actually snapped, it just popped out. This will show you better than i could explain it ruclips.net/video/eDoXMJyimDU/видео.htmlm13s
Thanks man worked perfectly. Be very careful with those little pieces that you have to bend. I popped mine out and it took like 30 min to bend it back into shape and put it back in.
How do you take the pads off without ruining them? I remember I took the pads off a mouse once and it didnt go well. And what causes the MMB in this mouse to just cease function!? Mine is now basically inoperable. It works like once every 20 clicks or more. It still scrolls fine, but clicking does nothing. Had made playing many games harder, if not impossible to do.
I don't notice it so much in gaming, but the double clicking is making it down right painful to browse the web and navigate the file browser on my PC, :-( I've got a new Glaive in the mail, so once I have that one I'll try to repair this one and keep it as a backup in case the new one gives me the same issue.
haha, wow you took your glaive apart to fix the double clicking issue, i just put up with it for 6 months as it got progressively worse and then a bit better and then worse and then fixed itself
Put too much pressure on the metal inside the clicker and popped off the top metal section... I tried for a while to get it back together but had no click function 😒 Thanks for the great video, but unfortunately my mouse has been replaced with another.
I haven't tried it yet but, you sir, is a hero! Just seing the video and reading the comments I know what hapened with my mouse after my ogre friend used it and I'll (hopefully) be able to fix it, after 4 long months of sufering. My Glaive is been failing and double clicking.
6:25 I can't seem to get this step to work, when I try to do what he does in the video, the plastic just kinda crumbles and it doesn't seem to give at all. All that's happened is the corner of that little rectangle getting super torn up from my screwdriver slipping. Anyone having the same problem? If yes, how did you solve it?
Thank you! I had one with the rubber "tire" slipping on the metal "wheel", causing my scrolling to work only some of the time. I'm impressed by how this thing is assembled so that it can be worked on. You cured the handicap I've been living with for a long time. I love you, man!! lol
Just fixed mine with the same issue. Cleaned it up with some rubbing alcohol and applied some super glue to the inside of the wheel. Works like new!

Very nice video! I did the mistake of making too much force when trying to bend it and it broke, so guys be careful with that.
i cant even get the cover off im using so much strengh and doing as u did in the video and its just not giving at all can you help please idk what to do?
Works like a charm after the operation! Thanks you so much!
Used the video to resolve a mouse wheel problem, where scrolling up or down softly, the mouse doesn't register input.. thanks!
You are my freakin' hero, dude. Thank you for making this!
My problems on the way -
So the video is in pretty bad quality and his hands block a lot of the light, but its fine most of the way until the time when he show how to remove the side buttons, this was the hardest for me because nothing worked to get them out and i tired to press and pull everything and suddenly with A LOT of force they came out. But they were easy to put in back :)
Well after i put it back, both my top buttons doesn't work to change the DPI and the light seems to be a bit dim. But maybe if i open it again and look it through i can probably fix it.
But it works fine for me anyway
thx for the video.
Very helpful vid, thank you! Unfortunately, I got the whole process done and the double-click is still happening about 25% of the time. Kind of afraid to bend that metal piece too much!
Thank you for the video that fixed my double click issue.
Thanks man! I needed this video.
Thank you.
Top clip off stumped me. Same mouse.
At 7:24 during the bend, the little metal piece perhaps broke off of the unit, how can I reattach it?
@@Veggum Ah, thank you so much! I did the same thing and thought I ruined the mouse. 😅
I have the same issue but i can't bend the metal piece in a way the switch is clicking again. Is there any way to replace it?
thanks ....
it's a saver days for my competition
many thanks....
Thanks for the fix! It worked brilliantly.
Thank you soo muuch dude!. It was a pain using this mouse, but now it's back to normal. ^^
thank you, leaned a lot actually, seriously thank you! :)
Thanks for this video you save my fav mouse.
MY MAN! If you're ever in London - I owe you a drink! You've saved my mouse :)
Thanks man worked perfectly. Be very careful with those little pieces that you have to bend. I popped mine out and it took like 30 min to bend it back into shape and put it back in.
super effective and thank you for the tutorial! Worked like an absolute charm
Yea i also fixed, thx a lot for your help man!! Goodness will save the world!
Thanks, helped a lot in fixing a misaligned button!
youre the best, i have the double click too!
While I had mine apart I took the liberty to apply some glue on the inside of rim and wheel so it no longer slips.
OMFG. it fixed all of my issues.
I love you man
Thanks for this video. The fix worked like a charm.
Thank you for your services
Eyh thanks a lot...got a middle mouse button being unresponsive.. I think it helps ^^ Thanks for the video !
I don't notice it so much in gaming, but the double clicking is making it down right painful to browse the web and navigate the file browser on my PC, :-( I've got a new Glaive in the mail, so once I have that one I'll try to repair this one and keep it as a backup in case the new one gives me the same issue.
You are a king dude
Rly nice tutorial, if my mouse will give me problems i might try to fix it like this.
haha, wow you took your glaive apart to fix the double clicking issue, i just put up with it for 6 months as it got progressively worse and then a bit better and then worse and then fixed itself
Put too much pressure on the metal inside the clicker and popped off the top metal section... I tried for a while to get it back together but had no click function 😒
Thanks for the great video, but unfortunately my mouse has been replaced with another.
i need a 10-hour tutorial on how to put the cover back on :|
How did you do it?
all fixed thanks alot bro it helped me so much
I haven't tried it yet but, you sir, is a hero!
