Love how you address everything like a program. I've been bingeing this series.I problem I keep seeing you do is when you use a temperature reading to stop a machine, you use the machine's input as a bypass
I'm new subscriber, great content! I like how your approach is quite different than anything I saw before and occupies my time while I wait for the new addition to ONI, which I believe will change everything.
Now that I finally understand priorities I was able to implement the oxygen cooling system using the gas storage by myself 😅 But I looked at your design just to double check
A very cool Episode! I never had to use the oil reservoire, so it was cool to watch your ideas. One thing i noticed: you build your cooling room 3 tiles to place tempshift. But did you really do it? 😏
@@Nathans-Sandbox yes, i saw your oil was low. I normally don't use petroleum generator much, i like to use steam Turbines (4-5) with magma and a pitcher pump/Shipping rail setup- similar to your volcano-setup last Time.
Hey Nathan, I have to ask, in which episode will you connect the 30 smart batteries that you constructed in episode 12? I have to see in which configuration you connected them to the grid and the automation reader bit settings. Thanks ;)
Hi Nathan, I'm absolutely useless at this game but it's been great being able to follow along with your videos! I was just wondering what you had your thermo sensors set to in the oxygen loop? I'm having trouble getting my oxygen to come out at a nice temperature - rather it's coming out at -3 or so degrees and I'm not sure how to fix it. Thank you!
You gotta help me it's been a while since this video, what oxygen loop do you mean? I should be able to recall it once I know what setup you're talking about;)
Ah, it depends on what you want, I had it set to 18 degrees, but anything between 20-25 is also plausible. You must make sure that enough oxygen is in the reservoir, otherwise it will get cold too fast.
In real life, liquids are not compressible but gases are. The devs should have made it so any gases that were compressed significantly increased the temperature of the room such that it would eventually explode as a nice surprise for people that like to exploit. And yes, I do consider using doors for anything other than entering or leaving a room to be an exploit, personally speaking.
It is possible in the game and allows for some nifty contraptions. I will not mind an update changing the behavior of liquids, however, as long as it's a phyical property liquids have in the game I think it's fine to make use if them. If you argue about realism, then there are many features to get rid off in the game, e.g. Hydrogen generators.
@@Nathans-Sandbox Well, as a developer myself of various mods, I know why they didn't remove that "feature" and it has to do with backlash. It would have been more trouble than it was worth to remove it as they invariably would have received all sorts of angry comments on the forums and Steam page about their removal. Everything else in the game simulates realism, so yes, I would argue that it was never intended, just because they left it in the game isn't a good enough justification to argue in their favor. If that's what someone wants to do then that's fine, but let's not pretend that the devs had a choice in the matter.
I can't agree with your assumptions, you are probably wrong. The devs removed many exploits over the Spaced Out early access cycle which were used way more frequently. They removed most methods of easy permanent food storage without blinking. Do you really think they are afraid of backlash for a way less significant exploit? Nope.
@@Nathans-Sandbox That's precisely why I believe they didn't remove it, because it's not nearly as egregious of an exploit as others. In most cases it doesn't confer an advantage in the same way as "easy permanent food storage". As a non-developer you probably have little clue as to how much work could go into solving an issue that is probably embedded very deep into the game logic that fixing it would take a lot of work and could potentially introduce new bugs and other issues. It's not always as simple as "removing" something to fix a bug or exploit. This is a reason why a lot of long standing bugs remain in various games and never get fixed. You're also talking about early access, which is code built on top of the base game, so it's much easier to fix - especially in the early stages such as EA - since it's not part of the core game logic. We can at least agree to disagree. I'm just trying to explain why such a "feature" might still exist even if the devs don't necessarily agree with how it's used. =)
I spent thousands of hours programming games, that is besides to point. I only rejected your idea the devs leave the exploit in because of the backlash.

Awsome videos as always you deserve millions of subscribers ❤

What?
The water and gas compression sounds like an exploit
It probably is, but I'm at least doing it in a realistic way;)
There are so many exploits. E.g. Infinit Storage on one tile... I think this way is ok for Gases, don't think you could compress liquid in reality...
No, but it seems logical if you didn't know about that;)
