Awesome review, I just used these for the first time on a below freezing winter hike and camp, and can't express enough how amazing these were! No break in required for me, and they provided warmth, comfort, and support on strenuous terrain in ice and snow. They met with water a few times and still kept my feet dry. Your review helped convince me to buy these, so thank you!
I just bought a pair (preowned but new). Based on your review as a winter boot that I can hike in). If I get 3 seasons (winter and shoulder seasons) I will be thrilled. They feel weighty but strong.
After 2 years, one of my soles started to crack and detach. Good news, my local repair shop was able to resole these with new vibram soles. They did mention they had to use a special glue to get them to stick.
Thanks for a very accurate review. I have had a pair of these boots for a few years and they are excellent! I do really like the fact they are made of high quality leather. There is nothing like a pair of worn in old leather boots; provided you take care of the leather. It don't get no better. Cheers! Chris
About to receive my second pair of these. First pair last a few years. Wore the tread down before the leather split at the sole. Great boot kept my feet dry and like you said it can handle the winter- just not really for it. I give this boot a 4.5 out of 5
Just wondering Why they make this sewing seam on these boots- near front rubber area? Is it just decorative sewing or not? If I go to the rough terrain like small rocks the seam in this area will be very easy damaged and cut! Usually on such kind boots never do any sewing seams at that area - just leather and rubber. This sewing seam - its a concern.
@@leootp22 Yes, I understand. I've sort of "discovered' a few Meindls I seem to like.. in the images and reviews on the Internet anyway. The Bhutan and Borneo look interesting. I've not tried these on yet though.

Great review
Thank you
Fantastic review. I'm really vacillating between this Vasque boot and the Lowa Renegade GTX. Any thoughts?
The Renegades look great, but I have read a lot of negatives about durability so I will be passing on those for these.
