Otterbox is great, been using them for Years... But..... After a couple years, the rubber in the corners starts to deform and then crack... Superglue helps for a little bit... But it eventually just starts to fall apart... Not sure what the longevity is on the spigen... This is gonna be a tough decision on my upcoming new phone...

I like the Speck cases because they are thinner. I've dropped my phone plenty of times and it didn't get damaged yet. I'm not saying it can't happen but even my family's phone, which is a Samsung, has been thrown and still works without damage.

I keep seeing reviews where people complain about the lid coming loose - is this a thing, or is it just people being finicky?

I had a Spiggen Tough Armour case, dropped my iPhone 12 from about 3 feet and the enitre glass back panel shattered. Sticking with OtterBox

I just bought a pair of old classic hiking boots that spent decades in some warehouse with a stiff leather insole and hard vibram rubber outsole. My heels slip because the boots just don't bend. That may be a reason why your new boots fit you perfectly, but the problem occurs.

FYI on OtterBox. I have used OtterBox for years, several devices, and it worked great. I dropped my pixel 5a from a 4 ft. height onto a tile floor. It was protected with OtterBox Commuter but the screen shattered. I should have used a screen protector! It was distressing to learn that phone cases can fail, even the best of them.

Bulk doesn't = protection. Sigen also raises above your screen.

I would be interested in how this compares to say the Bridger series now.

Most people like to see actual scientific tests results to compare two similar technology items. Customer reviews and "I just like it better." comments don't move the needle since with this product, the Use Case is completely uncontrolled and unbounded compared to, say, a toaster. One reviewer dropped his phone from an airplane in flight, most others carry it in their pocket, or pocketbook, or a cubbyhole in the car. I have the Otterbox case protector that is very nice indeed - but it does Nothing to protect the screen itself from sharp keys in your pocket, or tools in your bike bag, your backpack or from rocks, or other hard objects. My wife also has an Otterbox case protector and she dropped her phone pretty hard while walking across some egg-size landscape rocks. Her Spigen screen protector had several new scratches, the Otterbox case was fine, and the phone and its screen worked perfectly. She bought a new Spigen screen protector and now her phone is once again like new.

I keep a defender pro because of the coleable ports. UAG is the only other case I've used. Tough but no closed up ports

i had a Samsung S20+ and was disappointed that despite costing £45 at the time, the Otterbo Defender did not protect my phone! I thought it was ok for ages until I took the case off and realised the back glass was broken. I dropped it a few times more and the the front glass broke too. I've been through a few phones because Otterbox cases aren't any good. however I found Punk Case and it's actually protecting my S22 Ultra. Looking at slim Spigen case for my daughter though as both the Defender and Punk Case are really bulky and probably really uncool.

I just bought a pair (preowned but new). Based on your review as a winter boot that I can hike in). If I get 3 seasons (winter and shoulder seasons) I will be thrilled. They feel weighty but strong.

Spigen for me. The OtterBox casing wears out over time and with the cost of it, you might as well buy a monthly warranty. I've broken two OtterBox defender inner case moldings. One compromise cause my phone to break

Thanks for sharing the video. I'm currently grappling with the decision between an Otterbox and a Spigen case for my Samsung S23 Ultra. The Spigen's aesthetic appeal is hard to ignore, and I have used one on my Note10 for four years without a scratch despite numerous drops. On the other hand, the Otterbox seems to offer superior protection, although I'm not entirely convinced. It's a tough call.

I went from an Otterbox to a Spigen because I was looking for an inexpensive durable clear case to show off my phone's color and didn't find what I wanted in an Otterbox. I haven't regretted buying a Spigen. The Spigen case has protected my phone well, even when I've dropped it face down on the concrete (multiple times!). I did add a tempered glass screen protector, which also protected my screen from cracking. On two occasions the screen protector cracked, but the phone screen itself remained intact. I do love the Otterbox and the Spigen felt very flimsy to me in comparison when I first started using it, but it has held up well for me for 3 years.

My son andI have used Spigen cases for 8 years with no breakage. The statement, in the video, that Otterbox has a raised edge around the screen, and Spigen does not, is FALSE; the Spigen cases also have a raised edge around the screen - just not as bulky as the Otterbox.

Had both, Spigen hands down. Otter Box buttons wear out, Spigen gives plenty of protection and there's no contest on price. Otter Box just keeps getting more expensive with no increase in value.

Drop in pockets on my 2008 DAS fit climbing skins nicely. Not sure about the new version.
