Toilet/shower? Love how you did the back of the couch. Besides the clever hidden storage it makes it look more like a couch without the full depth of the cushion showing. Truly an awesome build.
Thanks for watching and commenting! We have a solar shower setup and will shower outside using the sink (faucet pulled out of the van) occasionally. However, we primarily shower at the gym. We have a 24hr nationwide membership which has been awesome! Storage was key when we designed the couch because we didn't want to have to stuff our sheets somewhere else.
You have one of the best van designs I have ever seen! One thing you might consider is making the long drawer in the side of the bed 2' shorter. Then use the extra 2' space under the bed as a small slide-out drawer from the front of the bed that would contain either a small composting toilet or a $39 5 gallon bucket with a toilet seat and plastic bio-hazard bags. I personally would use it just for emergencies, I agree there a plenty of public toilets and gyms around. There is an app that can locate public toilets. For a shower, I would just use an extended hose from the kitchen sink and then use a simple camping shower curtain. Something like this: www.amazon.com/Pop-Up-Privacy-Tent-Lightweight/dp/B07NQW55KV/ref=pd_sim_b2b_1/144-6362115-9346011?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07NQW55KV&pd_rd_r=46c359b4-57fb-400f-be08-15256117accd&pd_rd_w=7eE0I&pd_rd_wg=yQue7&pf_rd_p=a07701e4-f565-442a-b97f-93ab23cbb7ef&pf_rd_r=5FP8T87RQ3FGMXWK5MN1&psc=1&refRID=5FP8T87RQ3FGMXWK5MN1 I like how you keep your van simple, inexpensive and stealthy. Not related to this, but one thing I think would be cool for your van is a slide out back deck. You could use it as a table, work area, extended sitting area. I think it can support up to 400 pounds, not sure though, depends on the materials used. www.pinterest.com/pin/AZga3IDFuC7kp6yfhC3WxlWXIK-zKOyEisX-3dFMvEbDFTYIYiya7eU/
YT recommended your latest vid to me, so I went binging your stuff. It's amazing to see how your builds improved and grow, but also your cinematography, presentation, and editing skills. Keep it up!
Very smart move to get a diesel heater. No condensation and easy refill, unlike propane. Those tiny smoke detectors were sold at Costco as a 2-pak. The fold down hooks - very inexpensive at IKEA. Love the narrow flat drawers that function both as a table and as a cutlery drawer, very smart design idea. Love the deck outside. Wish you had shown us how you built it. There must be framing underneath it. That is such a great idea. Very nice tour, and impressed at your building skills. Bon Voyage!
LOVED the video. The conversion is so practical. Everyone has different needs and this looks so cozy without having to add too much "multi purpose" components. P.S. LOVE THE TABLE. I have those in my bed for a space saving side table option. Hope your video gets loads more views. Enjoy the journey.
Monica Sahu Thanks so much for watching! We put a lot of thought into the design so it would be functional without being too complicated. We're glad you enjoyed the video!
STUNNING....But....NO Toilet 😶. Regardless of how many Public ones there are, there times when there AREN'T any. or they aren't practical. With all the different types of folding/emergency ones available....it's so easy to have one. I think of it as auto insurance: I may never use it, but it sure is nice to have....just in case! Love all the WHITE and that nice hanging wardrobe too! Happy Travels with your adorable kitty. 😸
Leila L We have a little emergency solution in our back deck box. We have never had any issues with needing a toilet and not having it, but having 24 hr access to a gym is something I would recommend if you are worried about it. Much nicer than a truck stop if needed. Thank you for watching and for the feedback!
What a great clean design. As long as the two people sleeping can handle the smaller bed it seems worth it for such a streamlined look. If you could fit that 'fridge in the kitchen section and lower the closet, so nothing is floor to ceiling it'd feel more open - You'd gain a counter top and openness, but it'd definitely cut into storage.
P.S. Oh wow, just saw this is your first video. You did a great job at showing off your design. i look forward to seeing how it works for you two! And YAY for RUclips suggesting your vid!
I’d like to see more on the deck box/patio. So cool. Love this build. Bookshelf over rear doors will be a feature I adapt to my build. I also love the behind couch hides. Excellent work.
What an awesome build, beautiful and so well thought out! I also have a small van I'm converting so am getting a lot of ideas from your video. The slide-out "table" drawers, the rack A/C, etc. So cool. Looking forward to seeing more. Thank you!
Love that couch material and all the hidden storage. Your whole design is well thought out and well executed. Love the relaxing and airy colour scheme. You should be proud of what you've created. Happy travels! Pls give kitty a chin scratch for me 😀❤
I have to say I've owned two calco cats now, and they have to be the best personality type cats I've had, and I've had a lot of different kinds of cats. Just beautiful souls. 😊
I've been looking for inspiration to build a small camper. This so far has been my favourite! The white colours definitely open up the small area so much. 10/10 guys
Very cool build! Looks so professional. I’d like to know more about the van itself- inside dimensions, insulation, ship lap how wide the seat of the couch is.etc. the cabinetry is great. Until I saw the pull out tables I thought they were manufactured- like IKEA or Home Depot- anyway! Very well done. Good luck on your travels.
ohmercy Thank you! We are going to do a build/cost video (filming it this week!) stay tuned for that and we will be sure to address all of this! Thanks for commenting.
Innovative move with that cooling unit. Would love to see a review of how effective it is in the van. As you know a/c is a luxury in a van build. Amazing build guys!

this is by far one of the prettiest van builds i have seen so sleek and looks so spacious I love the design ...It says low budget but I highly doubt that...for us that do not have a lot of money to set up but if you have the money to do this God Bless it is Beautiful and you are as well sweetie Blessings seth that storage behind the cushion is genius and your mom could start a business making those foam covers so pretty
Traci Losee Thank you so much for stopping by!! If you are interested in exactly what we spent, we will be releasing a video very soon with the total amount we have invested! Be sure to check that out! (Hint: it was about what we would have spent for 8 months on rent 🤫)
Nice DIY build for three! I like the clever combination of the hidden litter box under the unassuming AC! You both did a great job of creating a lot of storage for clothes and van life essentials, plus you added the Thule roof storage and the extra storage platform at the back. Louis The Van can pack a lot of stuff!
like several other commenters - i am interested in more info on how you set up/installed the AC unit. great idea to use a rack cooler! hope you do a video on that. nice build - lots of ideas :)
How does your Tripplite rack A/C perform in your van space? Does it cool adequately? Do you need to use an extra fan to circulate the cool air to the back of the van? Can you give us an idea of what temperatures it can achieve relative to outside temps? Great idea!
I was considering a smaller Sprinter but wasn't sure if it would be enough space, thanks for showing Louis! I love it! Also, your video was great, can't believe this is a newer channel. Liked and subbed.
Harvey Breaux Thanks for watching! We are going to do a more in depth video on what went into planning for this build based on the parameters that the space allowed as well as the cost of it all. We will be filming this week!
I really enjoyed this video! Great job on your van as well. I am seriously interested in starting my own van life in the very near future. One of my biggest concerns is heat... I live in south Texas and it gets hot here! From your experience, do you think the fan you have will be enough to keep it cool especially when I’m living in my van? Awesome video! God Bless!!!
Love this build. Its practical yet homely and livable. The use of light colors as well as simple storage solutions like the hidden bed area and practical closet space makes it a great full time camper. Lots of great ideas here guys. I noticed a back deck area though. Is this a fold up platform that stows? Also is there anything you would change/ do differently now that you've officially moved in?

I really want to have a cat in my van too. Wondering how you keep her from getting out and running away and if she seems happy in the van.
Akhera Unpa Shepsutera she loves it! She will take walks and stuff but we will sometimes put her harness on and clip her in somewhere.
Tracking device just in case of escape but I would make nets that zip up to completely cover doors/windows. Also acts as mosquito deterrent.
